  • The ability to spot a miss, correct, and follow up with an impact is so incredibly important in precision shooting, we felt it warranted its own quick video. Now, a lot of factors can play into the ability to spot your missed shots, from recoil mitigation, to rifle balance, to quality of glass, nevertheless, mastering this skill will no doubt improve your shooting experience, and performance.

    ▬ About MDT ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
MDT was born out of a single purpose: to provide better value and better accuracy for precision rifles. The first MDT chassis was developed from the ground up based on the needs of shooters.
Our engineers verified every function and feature based on the input from competitive shooters. The end result was a game-changing product called the TAC21 that continues to perform at the range, in the field and in competitions around the world.
Today, MDT chassis, magazines and accessories are still developed the same way.
We collaborate, question and verify our concepts with precision shooters from around the globe to ensure that every MDT product is designed with the same single purpose: to provide our customers with the absolute best product possible.

i keep the crosshair on the target and just measure from the crosshair(target) to the impact point and then use that, instead of measuring on the other side

I use the same method. Watch where the round impacts and then use that impact point as your hold.

@@aaronwalser438 I think this is how most people do it. don't have to move anything, just read the cross hairs.

The method in the video requires a great deal of mental gymnastics. The method suggested above is much faster, especially if you are holding wind. Get a second sight picture after you shoot and put the impact point on the target. No math, no measuring, no moving from one side of the target to the other.

For a right handed shooter, which technique is best? Both eyes closed, left eye open/right eye closed, left eye closed/right eye open, OR both eyes open?

How do you spot your impact and not just see black in the scope after pulling the trigger? The scope camera gives a perfect picture and doesnt take moving out of the eye box into account.

building a rifle that fits your body, building a shooting position so the recoil goes straight back, and shooting at more than 200 yards so you get a little time for your eye and gun to recover.

Trigger pull and making sure to watch the wind, it may be pushing your bullet depending on the caliber and distance

Maybe it is just me. It looked like instead of making wind edge corrections, you just moved the rifle to the left side of the target.
