The best FREE camping near Vancouver, BC // Epic mountain views - no hike required (Jones Lake)

- This is the BEST free camping near Vancouver, BC! Epic mountain views, no hike required - but you will need a vehicle with 4x4 and high clearance to get up the access road, which is open from May 1st-October 31st. I've camped here many times and love how you can just drive up to these epic mountain views! Bring your canoe if you have one. (more info on location below)
On this trip, Ben and I drove up from Vancouver to do some car camping and take his cedar canoe out for a rip on the lake. We made a campfire, cooked delicious food, and filmed some incredible aerial video of the lake and surrounding mountain views. This is one of my favourite videos yet!

A beautiful destination in Canada: Wahleach Lake (commonly known as Jones Lake) is located in the Skagit Range in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Canada. East of the city of Chilliwack and Southwest of the town of Hope. It was originally used by the people of STO:LO First Nation as a stopover on their way to summer hunting grounds. If you decide to make the trip out there, please be respectful of area. Always pack out your trash and leave it better than you found it. More info on Leave No Trace principals below.

I'm hoping to do a Canadian work holiday experience in BC, Vancouver and this is absolutely something I am going to do. Stunning scenery! Absolutely nuts. I live in England, so no mountain forest views like this here, although the rolling hills of devon is beautiful in its own way. This place looks like what heaven would look like to me.

Hey Nina, used to camp at Jones Lake , back over 20 years ago , before it be came so popular. Camped there for 17 years in a row when used 4x4 down on the beach at about the middle of the lake. Many happy memories. Cheers Babe.

Life jackets!
Yes we had them with us, but not wearing them.
It is very difficult to impossible to put on a PFD after you are in the water.
Please get a good, comfortable PFD made for canoeing and wear them while on the water.
Others watching your great videos may do the same and you could be saving someone from tragedy.
You should visit South America soon! Come to see the landscapes of Chile, we could make photos in Patagonia and another places
