  • In this video I cover some service work on the Yamaha Outboard and attempt to clear a few things up with some viewers. I share the history of this Yamaha Enduro Series Outboard and what it was developed for. It is not your typical outboard. As you will see in the video it is commonly installed on
large wooden boats in developing nations for commercial use. Just here in the Philippines it is not as common.
We are a Fil Am couple sharing our lives between living in Texas USA and Panay Island Philippines. We share dealing with two different cultures, building our solid concrete cast in place home beach side and exploring/ seeking new things. We hope you enjoy and join to be a apart of a bigger family here on this channel.
Thank you for being apart of our channel and lives.

Back in the 80's I drank many a San Miguel out of bottles that looked like they were 100 years old, (faded paint, chipped up, etc.), but us GI's knew that all you had to do was wipe off the neck with your hand and 30-40 years later you would still be alive, and telling a story about it on RUclips ! Happy New Year

James you might have as much knowledge as anyone I ever known. What you don’t know your not afraid to tear into a project, I really admire this because for me the result is usually not as good. I farmed and ranched my whole life so I am pretty handy at fixing, but nothing like you.

The theory I have always lived by is this..... We are all born with equal brains, a blank slate waiting to be programmed. There is not much that one human can do that another should be able to also. It is a matter of learning. There is comes a point in that learning that everything becomes easier and easier. The most profound thing a teacher ever taught to me was the concept of comprehension. Learning to comprehend and think openly is the most important tools you can have. With that you can do anything. Next applying it real world hands on. I see the world with a different set of eyes. I see each thing I look at as to exactly how it is made. No matter if it is a tree or a computer I learn how it is composed. Love to read , study and listen. The toughest one for most people is the listening part. "You can't listen if your mouth is moving" is what another teacher would say. So true. I try to share things on this vlog and there will be so many blurting off non sense comments that was answered in the vlog but they did not listen. They will also be so busy to incorrectly assume you did something wrong and ready to point it out until patiently seeing the outcome. I always say " know a whole lot about nothing". There is very little I don't know how to do at this point in my life. Everything is possible. I made great money in my life only working for myself and had no formal training. Schools and training are again a matter of comprehension of knowledge that is already out there. The schools and teachers are just helping you absorb it. Well at this point I am enjoying beach side living. No more answering 100 calls a day and endless emails and meetings. No more kissing customers asses and stressing with employees. Now just build here , tinker here and relax some in between. HAPPY NEW YEAR Ron.

Thanks for the inspiration and stories. I have always been reticent to tackle those projects but u know it’s only because I don’t know but James he learns first and acts later. Really admire that guy. They say a picture paints a thousand words and to see that motor purring over - no words needed - says it all about the man and the motor. 👍

James, I did most of my first 50 dives out of a banka that size up in La Union when I got my Master Scuba Diver rating with PADI. It blows me away how big of waves those little banka boats can get through.

I have a lot of experience as a charter captain, I will drive the boat for you when you want to go water skiing. The bottles are hand cleaned before they are returned, but they get cleaned & sterilized again before they are refilled. Do a video on that. The heaven's have opened up & it is to noisy for me to continue to hear you speaking, at the point that you were talking about nuts. LOL

Man that transom and boat looks factory! Like Derek on VGG when he fixes or rigs something he says That’s Factory 😂. Really the boat does look like it was originally made that way!
Can’t wait to see how it’s gonna perform because if it performs as good as it looks you won’t have any problems.
Not Your Daddy telling you he’s not gonna stay at your place because you don’t have an exotic beer 😂 that’s funny, considering he drinks Schaefer’s , 1 beer & 3 trips to the 🚽 🤣🤣🤣 . I’m just joking 🙃 don’t know what he drinks but I couldn’t resist 😂

The powerhead on those Yamahas comes off pretty easily- easier than the disassembly you did,, The shift rod will sometimes break or the roll pin will shear on the linkage. Put Anti- seize on the coupling and anything else that screws together. A 1996 Yamaha C-30 sold in the USA is really essentially the same motor and has the correct water pump for you. Yes, you could make yours a 30HP by changing the carb and exhaust tube. You should have changed the impeller- it was curled up pretty bad and they do shed vanes as you noted. Buy a seal kit for the lower unit and check the oil often too- the seals fail pretty often on those. Good luck.

I'm unsure if Coca Cola still sell one liter glass bottles of soft drinks here, maybe somewhere but not where I am, you can get the 750ml "kasalo" size but that's no good for the resellers of fuel, so I'm thinking from that perspective the One liter glass bottles will be kept expressly for the fuel use now? In regards to the contents being "tainted", my friend told me stories about having to check one's SMB for cockroach remnants back in the day......added protein!!!!
