- Spectacular hike up thru the Paternoster Lakes taking in Mount Brandon, Brandon Peak and Gearhane.
Please do not use the route I took coming off Gearhane. The underfoot conditions were pretty horrendous, with heather, rocks and very uneven ground. I would recommend going to Mullach Bheal and coming down the zig zag road into the valley.

Eddie, take a bow, this was fantastic from start to finish! Your best yet !!
“Well it’s not exactly flat” brilliant
thanks very much Darren,, haha, yea, I laughed when I heard that bit back myself. It's really awesome going up that route.😄
Beautiful hike to the top! Ireland shines its beauty again!!
It sure does, doesn't it , I'm so very lucky to live so close to all this ...
The scenery in that was pretty amazing!
Hi Crin, I couldn’t agree more, it’s an awesome place. Thanks.
Amazing ❤
Thanks again Pia
Another great video 👍🏽
Thanks very much Suraj. It’s a stunning place to visit 😉
Lovely video and your presentation is so nice an friendly. Brandon from Cloghane is my favourite walk of all and one of my walking collegues aptly names the rock are between the lakes and the Eske as Jurassic Park !
Thanks Seamus, yep, that route up is my favourite also. Glad you enjoyed the video, Ed
I went that route in June during stormy weather. That was an experience. The advantage was, both big waterfalls had much water. That was cool. But everything over 700m was in thick fog. View was around 10metres. 😂 On the top Wind was incredibly strong. Was an adventure.
Wow, that sounds like it was an interesting outing alright. It must have been so wet. It’s a great Loop alright isn’t it, I’m already thinking of doing it again , thanks, Ed
Absolutely brilliant video of such a beautiful location its not an easy hike fare play to you and well done I wouldn't know anything about the location but I'm guessing the wall could have been built during the famin. There's one not far from where I'm living called the famin wall. Thank you for sharing your video
Hi John, thanks for the comment. I thought so also about the walls, but Joe O Connor left a comment on The Three Sisters Video that's sounds even more interesting. To quote Joe "There was an archaeological study done on Mt Brandon in 2004 by Aegis Archaeology. They didn't specifically mention the visible, fully above ground wall, but they did summise that the above ground wall on the upper parts were a continuation of pre-bog/field system walls." He added a bit more if you want to pop over and read it,, all very interesting.
@@eddieforde it is very interesting will go back and read more about it thank you very much Eddie
Spectacular Eddie, great vid. Brandon is definitely on my list for next year. As a fly angler, I couldn't help wondering if there was any trout in those lakes 😂.
Thanks Tim, it’s a great route up, I know I said in the video I might not do the same route again anytime soon, but I’m feeling different after re-watching it. Haha, typical fisherman, sees water… wonders can it be fished, it would be some spot alright? I didn’t see any ripples but it could have been stocked or bird dropped at some stage maybe🎣 👍🏻
There's white trout and salmon in the lower lakes fed by an Abhain Mhór.
@madra1cal2 thanks for that Pat, great to find out these things 👍🏻
New Sub here. Thanks for these videos, very helpful, plan on visiting the Dingle peninsula sometime in September.
Thanks very much. Hope you have a great time here, it’s a fantastic place.
