As a native to the Island of Haiti 🇭🇹 it is must to use Barbancourt Rum but with that being said your watch is a must watch always. Thank you for featuring this drink from my country. Sak Pase
Thank you very much :) The only reason that I did not use the Rhum Barbancourt is because it is not carried at my Liquor store. But I wanted to show case this drink because its lovely.
Good morning Dave!! This is a terrific looking cocktail! I am really getting in to the Plantation rums. They are spectacular. I love the ingredients here! Cheer!!
@@boozeontherocks I am slowly working my way through the Plantation rums, Dave. I also love the overproofed rum selection. Oh wow, it's powerful and delicious!!
David this is just what we were looking for! I just got my partner a Lewis bag and mallet, and we were seeking something perfect for the inaugural crushed ice. Now that bottle of Flor de Caña has something fun to do! Thank you for this!
@@boozeontherocks You should have seen him giving that ice a whack! Lots of verve. I think it goes without saying this one was a massive hit (see what I did there?). The crushed ice worked perfectly in it, and the balance of this cocktail was unbelievable. Thank you so much for it David!
Delicious. Mine is darker maybe because of the demerrara syrup? Also, as delicious as it is, it's not a very boozy cocktail is it? Unless I put too much pineapple juice or something. I used Barbancourt 4 years rhum.
@@boozeontherocks the sounds when you were pouring, etc sounded really loud. At one point, I was wondering if you had added sound effects whole editing 😅
@@boozeontherocks it's funny....something about the third pour into the shaker....it made a sound like you hear in the movies, when a pipe (or something worse) is sloshing and about to spew. 😅 Not awful, just weird....and I've never boticed it before, so I wondered if you had a new mic or placed it differently. I'll try to a time stamp.
Going to buy haitian rum tomorrow. They got 6 bottles at my nearby SAQ. I have a question. Should you be drinking this with a straw? Isn't the bitters overpowering?
im so sorry to say but in have been and worked at the oloffson bar and this is not the recepie. The original recepie is equal parts rum, grenadine, and limejuice, and a teaspoon of sugar, shaken and strained over ice
Captain Morgan do a pineapple dark rum would work I fo have a Haitian rum which is bang seksy . But to save it I use this tiki tiki captain Morgan pineapple rum works well indeed

Jacques, this is really good. No its not to boozy, however if you wanted to bump it slightly you could.
Don't know that I've ever tried a plantation rum, Dave.
Btw, did you get a new mic?
The Plantation rums are good. No the mic is the same. Why do you ask?

@@LindaC616 I do whole editing. I may have added to much volume to he pours. I will work on that :)

You could just mix it up or you could use a straw.

Thanks for the tip
Great job, Dave. I was interested to see what Haitian rum you used, but am a big fan of Xaymaca.
Ray, Unfortuneately I cannot get any Haitian Rhum, So I used the Plantation Xymeca.
