Wow your review is the best and most detailed out of the 3 I watched. Congratulations. These direct shift transmissions are becoming popular. Now the wife doesn't have a problem with me buying it since she can also drive it. Much needed in this hours long heavy LA traffic.
Please ask these questions next time you are near a Toyota representative to see if we can have the answers: No center console arm rest and or storage space yet? The excuse was that it was a manual transmission only car. What's the excuse this time? And when will they get rid of the dust and fingerprints collecting piano black interior parts? Did they already fixed the infotainment issues? What about the hidden tracking and information sending computer that sends information without your knowledge to Toyota, dealerships and insurance companies? When will the steering wheel can be telescoped and tilt further upwards and towards the driver? When will they use bigger brakes at the back? I find it abnormal and asymetrical that manufacturers pay too much attention to the front brakes when is always better to have a rear-bias braking balance for both hard cornering and extensive use. Is the trunk space enhanced? Why they don't give us the motor with at least 100 HP more and 105 more torque for a more rounded number of 400 and call it the 400 edition? (I call dibs if they really make this one)
Cool that they added an automatic for people who may be physically unable to drive a manual, just hope that they do not make the mistake of making so many of them and waste resources that will go to the people who really sustain platforms like this with the manual transmission. Hopefully its like 20% Automatics against 80% Manuals or something along those lines.
@@CodeBonYTcheap software bandaid for Toyota to not address 30/70 rear differential overheating is making track variable, and not allowing you to run set 30/70 lol
@mags3376 actually the 30/70 mode is easiest on the rear diff. The heat is caused by the inherent slippage in the diff setup. In that mode, the least slippage happens and the least heat. The new mode is to allow the car to move torque around depending on steering angle, throttle position etc to increase cornering speed and stability. I haven't tracked mine yet. But I've def gave it hell from the southwest va mountains to the highways of Florida and I've never had a single overheat issue. Except maybe in my pants lol.
Toyota should take a cue from Audi & paint the radiators in their GR Corollas/Yarises black so they don’t stick out from behind the grille; other than that, it looks great
To drive a stick shift, should enjoying the stick shift, so more traffic should be more enjoyable. At least I feel this way. Otherwise, just do for automatic if you don't want to shift often. Why bother to get a stick shift?
@@ggthx Drag isn't bad if they gained heat management to mitigate heat soak from the turbo and added benefit could be front downforce. The Rear Spoiler would add stability to the rear part of the vehicle. Last time i checked, that is a good thing.
Makes perfect sense. I've owned a couple of manual cars in my life, but I would buy this GR in auto because it would be my daily driver. I'd buy it in manual if it was my sunday drive car.
The exterior looks amazing, the interior is so UGLY and cheap and doesn't match at all. (HYUNDAI Veloster N is also cheap on the interior but looks so much better than this interior)
Heavy RWD vs pretty light AWD, totally different experiences….mustangs are also some of the most common coupes you’ll see around, some people want something different.
Why is Toyota going back to the old 2018 interior design the inside looks old design come on no details nothing looks like a ford fusion inside 😅 people love modern cars
@@HaiRune The corolla XSE interior is pretty nice, leather on the doors and dash etc. But it would cost at least $2k more for that interior. Making a circuit right at $50k. Designing a new interior just for the GR is out of the question. It is very expensive to design and tool up for parts like that. (Engineer in manufacturing here) doing that for a low volume car like the GR wouldn't be possible. Using it to showcase a new xse interior before it hits xse is possible but would have everyone complaining about a $50k corolla. Like they already are when it's closer to $45k. Plus the weight I mentioned earlier. They even went as far as a forged carbon roof and uncovered visors to save weight. Adding it back in a door panel is dumb. All that being said. Maybe we can hope for a ~$60k GR camry with a manual and a twin turbo V6. But it would need a new awd design and they don't have a reason to develop it with a race budget so it's unlikely.
@@CodeBonYT Nah it don’t gotta be a new interior. I just want something with leather like you said but also with things like an armrest or brake hold. I’m coming from a rav4 xle premium and the interior in that is awesome so anything with all those features I’m fine with. Also nice try buddy I’m also an engineer in manufacturing (chemical though lol)
@@HaiRune The armrest was removed so you don't elbow it shifting. There is an aftermarket solution that is excellent and looks stock if you insist. It's about $130 if I remember correctly. I thought I wanted one but after a few thousand miles I realize I don't need it. It does hold the brakes automatically on a hill for a moment, I always drive with IMT on, but it may not be necessary for that to function. The manual ebrake was designed for this car and it decouples the rear end so you can drift and it works amazing. Wouldn't change a thing about that. I actually did look up the XSE doorpanels and I may end up getting some, or finding a crashed XSE at pull a part would be nice. The toyota website 3d model actually looked to have leather door panels on the premium, I was admittedly disappointed with that omission when I picked it up. But again after some time I don't care as much. I've accepted that the appeal of the car isn't the interior and I'm fine with it. I definitely got my money's worth and it would be greedy to ask for more. This car in built in a cell, not on an assembly line. It takes 10x the labor to build over a corolla and has a rally drivetrain and its affordable. It would never have happened if the CEO wasn't Morizo, we are lucky to have the option. And I'm happy to have taken it. P.s. mechanical here (process engineering and design)
We're so excited about the look and even more excited about the drive! Great video!
HATED the 2025 Civic refreshed front grille------but I LOVE THIS Corolla grille! It's soooooo...... in your face
I love the more aggressive look!
Same! I’m glad it’s all intended to increase performance and not just for looks
I hate it. Because I just bought a 24 premium and now I gotta considering trading it in in a few months. Good thing it holds value well.
Next question,How much miles do you get on a full tank of "Premium Gasoline"?!??🤔
@@paullansville for me about 250 (small tank)
@CodeBonYT Aight thanks.👊🏼
any update on the diff cooling?
that design is step above, wow
Fantastic breakdown. Thanks for the vid 👍
Hope that extra radi is for the rear diff. Mine over heats on 3 heavy laps on 30:70
Still no armrest 😢
LOVE the new look!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the new look! I have a 2021 Supra and unfortunately Supra didn't get any refresh look before they kill it in 2026.
They should bring this to Europe too

They refused to put in the armrest. Get it right toyota
Needs to be a two door with flat bottom steering wheel, armrest and sunroof 😎
Way to overlook the new AWD modes.
Technically it isn't a new mode. Track just changed to gravel and RWD bias is now variable and called track.

Design looks way more aggressive in the front, great job by Toyota.
With the joy and excitement of a stick shift, who needs full time arm-rest on a GR.
Did they put brake hold in this like the Corolla Hatchback?

That’s illegal, but in China, the government will kill you if they feel like it and steal your wealth.
What about the GR Corolla 🔥🚗🔥🔥🔥🔥🚘🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🚗🔥
So they deleted the Circuit Spoiler and haven’t addressed the clutch pack for the rear differential…👎🏼

@lamesamelame No it created more drag, which is why the front vents on the CE edition are closed off...
Not feeling the new bumper
nah it looks so good

There's no fog lights? Why making the bumper like a Civic Type R? Nah, I rather keep my 2023 GRC Circuit Edition.
Oh man
When is Toyota introducing sunroofs in this car? I was going to be nice
Sunroof are not a thing in track focused cars. Sunroof make any car more top heavy....in high speed cornering it is bad.
