Yes, it is definitely easier to catch the kittens after you catch the momma. I caught momma, then the kittens all showed up. I think that we caught 15 between my place and the neighbors'. We did have a couple that we couldn't catch, and more have shown up now, but we don't have the explosion of kittens problem now.
@@CatvilleTNR I have no experience with cat rescue. Could one use sedatives in the food in the trap so they do not stress themselves too much during retrieval?
She does unfortunately. But it is coming into winter and she's pretty old so she may also wait until spring and just have a pouch.. Hopefully we can catch her soon though. Hopefully we can catch her during the winter before she has another later. Most of the time I catch my cat's right away after I rescue the kittens. But she's been one that has been really hard. We've tried trap training and drop traps and all sorts of things with her. And she's one of the hardest ones that I've ever try to get in 19 years!
Its perfectly harmless, especially up at the tip. less damaging then getting your ear pierced. Plus, they need some Noninvasive way to check if a cat's already been TNR'd or not, so they can lift the trap and let them right out. After all it would be super traumatizing and waste a lot of resources that could be used on other cats (Say, ones that are sick or badly injured) to take them to the vet to double check every time, ya know?
@@kittinthecreator5790 Let me clip your ears and see if you think it's perfectly harmless since you think there's nothing wrong with it? Shouldn't be traumatizing. Plus, according to you, it's "noninvasive."
@@zenster1097I don't remember my back surgery because I was under anesthesia and the cat won't remember the ear clipping because it's also put under. It's for the good of the kitty. Relax!
There is a Gentleman in Brooklyn, New York who does TNR, but if he see's that the kittens are to feral he will take in & take of them getting them ready for adoption
I haven't used a trap before but have "trapped" cats with food in a carrier...When I do, I do NOT use just an open can of food. The kitty could cut their tongue. I have heard many of people get upset when people do this; please don't do this. Also, why don't you put a towel or cover over the cage to begin with? If you leave it there for awhile and come back, it could be thrashing around that whole while which to me seems very traumatizing until someone comes perhaps not until morning or hours later? I covered my carrier at the get go, took my shoes off, and when I could tell kitty at least got a good belly full, closed the door on him. That way he didn't see me. He still thrashed, but he settled down quicker I believe. I guess I would do it differently. But I'm here to get some tips. 🙏
I love that you talk to him, and even though he is hiding, he just can't help but respond!

How did he even get in that engine!
Great work!
Thank you!
Awww you are true MOM! For your kitties and babies❤️ thank you
Did you name the big one Bonus?
I would have but I named one that in the past haha. I named him, Cow- Boy. Play on words because he's cow colored.
That was so interesting to watch! Such a great work that you do!
So cute!!! You’re a kitten superhero!!
Aww, thanks!

glad you're uploading more videos
Thank you!
Bravo! 👏🏻🐾🥰 Wonderful! Thank you and many blessings for 2023.🙏🏼
Important to get them before they get to ferrel. I found mine just in time.
Mommy cat looks pregnant again 🥰

Do your kids that appear in your previous videos still take part in your cat activities?
They do sometimes but they're also in elementary school during the day. :-)
@@CatvilleTNR Ah, okay. I'm so glad you're making videos again! The way you talk to the cats is so sweet, honestly.

@@zenster1097 what other way would you suggest?
If you can’t clip ears then there needs to be some other way so you don’t waste time checking if a cat has already been trapped or not fixed.
