I’m a 6’2 225 lb freshman DE and LG on my High Schools Varsity team. I’m a skilled pass rusher but a problem I come across a lot is my momentum going against me and I don’t keep a tight angle around the Tackle to the QB. I end up going right past the QB if he steps up in the pocket. Any tips?
@@gabe7194I know I'm late but my O-line coach taught me "lowest man wins" and it's true if you come up too high and aren't driving the OL will just be shoving your body upward giving you less momentum and allowing them to control when your body is going
I’ve been playing football since I was about 4 and I’m 14 right now I just wanted your opinion on something,I’m 5’10 1/5 and I’m about 185/190 with a 5.1540yd I’ve played Defensive End and Left Tackle for quite a while but was wondering should I stick with my Provided position or try to work for another position as in Line backer or tight end. I’m also in 8th grade going into high school but due to COVID my season got canceled so I’m looking for the best type of drills/workouts to stay in shape. Hopefully you read this and can get back to me.
Try for more skilled positions on defense like DE and maybe Outside LB depending on ur team. On offense try to work on technique with blocking and pass sets. Try to hit the defender in the hip with the hand he is not attacking and drive with that .

you’re gonna have to up your weight.. 215 is lighter than most, if not all linebackers. height helps but in the end if you’re really good it is not super important (think aaron donald). if you have the drive you can give it a good shot, but you’re going to have to work hard on gaining a lot more weight. think 50+ more pounds

He is also a beast at chess. I never did beat him. He also refers to his favorite quote often "This is Chess not checkers!"
Finally! Someone who knows what to teach young players. Nice.

Stay heels depth. Squeeze the line

Make sure to extend your entire body from the right distance to secure the sack. I suggest watching how Aaron Donald and Vonn Miller do it
