    ★★★ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE VIDEO / FACT UPDATES ★★★
    *1) WARNING!!! - Facebook is advertising this Laser for $39.00 such as through **Topbazaar.shop* - I did some quick research and found a website listing hundreds of scammer sites (including Topbazaar.shop) that take some images from the web, often from Kickstarter, Indiegogo etc. - and they sell it at ridiculous low prices. it states buyers will never receive any goods.
    *Link =* noscams.info/list-of-facebook-sponsored-ad-scams. BUY AT OWN RISK!!
    Please use common sense, this Laser Rust Cleaner was selling for nearly $500k in 2017, there is no way to make it and sell it for $39.00 6-12 months later, even shitty Cordless Drills usually sell for $39.00.

    •  6 лет назад +10

      Unfortunately first ones to get that will be rich companies which will have means to be much more productive than you. They will offer much cheaper services because of this tool and you won't be able to compete with them. After all alternatives go out and such company has monopoly, they can increase prices once again.

    • @steve42lawson
      @steve42lawson 6 лет назад +2

      Maciej Załucki yeah, right, their going to spend half a million just to be able to charge a fraction of that ~ how long before that becomes profitable? Even if it's to squash the competition, is that really financially feasible? It would be cheaper to wage a price war [rather than spending $500k on a device that can only derust around 4 sq inches per second].

    • @GodWasAnAlien

      If you knew what wavelength the laser was, you might be able to source the diodes somewhere and build one. You'd still need a regulator, switch, knife edge array, focusing lens, and prolly a diffuser too.

      How so? You still have lost metal, and you have to keep going over the area as it rusts again, when you could have just gone over that area BEFORE it rusted with one of several different DIY undercoating homebrew goops and then kept reapplying the goop, at a few dollars per application instead of tens of thousands of dollars and this can't even get to any rust that isn't in direct line of sight of the machine because a laser is as directional a device as it gets.

I would love to have one of these to restore steel antiques, and then refurbish/paint them to be sold at auctions. If it were a sausage the focus would be on mold removal unfortunately mold and other fungi grow a little deep on what they're feeding on so you might have to do more than that to make the food safe to eat.

    I see there's a use for it. But abrasive blasting steel substrate is overall better. You obtain an anchor profile, cleans deeper depending on your standard like SP5,10,6,etc or NACE equivalent, and you kill two birds with one stone.

    So...this may sound a bit silly to some, but I'd like to see this tech adapted for snow removal. If it could be done, it would save hours of labor and millions of dollars a year to most cities and communities.

    • @jusb1066
      @jusb1066 6 лет назад +3

      well you cant do it, the energy required to melt snow to water alone, is massive, really it is, try using a flame thrower and 100 gallons wont even do your driveway

    • @kevingubernatis3324
      @kevingubernatis3324 6 лет назад +3

      Well...I can already tell you that THAT is not true, because when I lived in Baltimore, they used huge trucks called Snow Dragons to melt tens of tons of snow to water and let it leak off into the Chesapeake. You can also have heated sidewalks installed onto your property that ensures that ice and snow don't even accumulate. Their all over Germany actually. Most roads there are the same, especially in metropolitan areas. I mean, if you think about it, you can go out and turn on your car for like 20 minutes and accumulated ice will eventually melt off. I have also watched a guy completely thaw out his sidewalk with an old space heater and an extension cord. So...no. That's not true. Heat is probably the MOST efficient way to remove snow. It's just that, like everything else, there's no money in just solving the problem, but there is a TON of money in selling people Ice Melt and charging to plow streets.

    • @christopherbackus5578
      @christopherbackus5578 6 лет назад +3

      Melting Ice and snow with heat is really really inefficient. It takes less work to move snow than it takes to produce enough heat to melt that same snow.

    • @kevingubernatis3324
      @kevingubernatis3324 6 лет назад +3

      Accept...no. See above. If heated sidewalks are good enough for almost all of Germany, then I submit they are no where NEAR inefficient. Those people don't like things that are inefficient. It might be expensive, but that's not the same thing. Also, regardless of whether it is inefficient or not, it is MUCH sager to simply have heated sidewalks that no one has to shovel. Safety overrides expense. Or at least it should.

    • @imzjustplayin
      @imzjustplayin 6 лет назад +2

      If they're expensive, then they're inefficient. Resistive heating is very expensive because it uses a tremendous amount of energy.

    I went through College for Tool & Die Design and with my 40 yrs of Aircraft / Aerospace manufacturing experience I refuse to believe something like this is worth that much . This device is a souped up microwave oven . A fair price for this thing would be about 12 - 13 hundred dollars . This is the type of thing you should be seeing in a rental shop . A contractor would rent it in the morning and return it by 5pm . That's it .

    1000w is just the average power. Each pulse lasts a nanosecond and there is several megawatts of energy in each pulse of laser light. The ability to compress so much power into a short pulse is why it is so effective.
