- Known to local as amonana or better know as buddha head. This variety is from Taiwan variety, which bigger in size, capable of reaching 1kg mark, have less seeds and more firm pulp texture inside. Definitely worth to plant and wait for fruiting in near future
Wow! Finally I find the correct fruit. Many other people showing 'similar' fruit, but not the Taiwan variety. Taiwan variety starts with head bent over/bowing.
Thank You.
It actually bear fruit now...but the size is small...so I now remove from the pot and straight into the ground...hopefully coming season I can get a bigger size
@@TonysExploration how long between starting the seed and fruit?
@@nadiabubar23 I haven't edit the video for part 2..but it bear fruits after 1 year
Such a joy to see it grow😊👍
I have never had this fruit before. I bought them out of curiosity. They look very cute, I wondered what it tastes like. Maybe those I bought are not ripe yet, It tastes like paper with a little bit artificial sweetener😂😂😂 The seeds look cute though, Hopefully it's not too hard to grow.
Thank you for sharing the video. Could you provide some information about the best sunlight, temperature, humidity, and other conditions? And also what need to be cautious about, For example: potential bugs, diseases, ect.
Out of so many crops, by far this is the best fruit tree I ever grown. This tree is already in the ground, now in the third years. It already bears fruits in the first year. So far , the only pest is just mealy bugs. Full blast of sun, and temperature around 22-26 Celsius. Give it a try!
@Tony's Exploration- Home & Garden Thanks. I'm in North America😂😂 we'll see.
What a great tutorial vid, thanks for sharing 🤝👌👍💕
Thank you! Cheers!
Taiwanese cherimoya.. are they good variety?tropical?
The fruit never turn up as good as the store bought. That is the risk of planting from seed
Which area are you? It seems that the seeds germinated very fast and the trees grew rapidly there. In a tropical area?
Type, tropical country
Thank you for sharing this. I have some sugar apple seeds 😊. could you please share how old is your tree now?
still less than a year.
Hi Tony, very nice video. I love sugar apples and atemoya. Has the atemoya fruit? I have 2 atemoya (gefner & lisa) growing in pots since I live in cold area and would need bring them in the greenhouse. Do you only use manure to feed atemoya tree?
Yes, i already harvest twice , the problem if you see carefully, there are two plants in that pot....not enough room for two ... So the fruit size is not ideal, like an apple size. I have recorded the video, just no time to edit and upload..Next season, I will remove one and planted straight to ground!
Yes, please share your fruiting video, I would love to see. I just taste test Gefner atemoya and love it, however I think my tree would need some improvement as the tree still young. I think as the tree gets older stronger, it would produce better fruits. Good luck to me...hiihii
Hey where did you get your plants?
@@khydo from the seeds
@@TonysExploration How long did it take to fruit and did it taste the same as the original fruit ?
Good vid, Ive heard that atemoyas are not true to seed. You would need a grated tree
anything that from seed never really true ....is now fruiting and the size is not big ....maybe due to the potted...i will plant it to the ground soon
@@TonysExploration Oh wow! I guess those people were wrong. I'll try growing it next time
Do u need to prune the tree to get more branches?
Yes, you need to prune to force more branches and induces flowering....part 2 video with fruiting will be out soon....no time to edit
@@TonysExploration normally how high to start pruning
@@SL-ur7vt I did it around 6.5 feet and some main branch already reach pencil thickness
How many years before the tree will bear fruit if grown from seeds?
this i'm not sure, since this is from Taiwan variety and from seeds. The local variety i have try before is around 1.5 yrs. Will update once fruiting!
@@TonysExploration where can I buy the Tiwan sugar apples seeds?
@@TonysExploration could I buy few seeds from you?
