- A demonstration of my newest design - a dowel stick banjo ukulele, sometimes referred to as a banjolele. It has an 8" rim, northwest coast madrone burl wood for the peghead cover, fingerboard, rim and heel caps. Bookmatched maple neck and curly/figured maple bentwood rim. Brass hardware, cocobolo integral tonering, and inlaid abalone fingerboard and side position markers. Raw brass planetary tuners, Aquila Nylgut strings, and Remo Renaissance head. Ukisociety - I replied too quickly before I checked out your channel. I had so much fun watching your videos. You are remarkably talented and clearly a very loving father! Thanks so much for posting your videos and the shout out on my channel! You're great!
So beautiful! You are truly an artist.
Thank you!
Thanks for the shoutout! I love the way it sounds and it plays like a dream. Click on any of the links in the description or more info about my work. Keep Uking!
Hi Mark, you make lovely banjos, this one looks really well done and sounds great
Thanks, BIll :-) Did you get a chance to see the videos of Ron Hargrave on banjolele? Over 80 years old, has probably done more things in any given decade than I have done in my life, and still plays amazingly! Check out Ron Hargrave
Great sound
Sweet
Omg i want a banjolele!!
Thanks for your great comment! They are really so much fun to play! And if you play ukulele then all of your chords and strum patterns work on the banjolele - you can just pick it up and play. And, if you don't play ukulele, ukes and banjo ukes about the most fun instruments to play that I know of and great started instruments. Enjoy!
are you still making these? I see no available inventory on your web site, so wondering.
Jackie Horn - I am still making them. I'm fortunate that people have been buying them pretty much as soon as I finish them and that makes it hard to keep up the inventory. I am working on a batch of four that should be done in a month or so.
I'm looking to buy a banjolele how can I get in touch with you?
Julio Tirado Hi Julio - you can email me at mark@mlnealbanjos.com. You can also use the contact form on my website at mlnealbanjos.com or find me on facebook at facebook.com/MlNealBanjos. I look forward to hearing more from you. The one in this video of course was sold some time ago but I do have two beautiful instruments available right now.
Beautiful! Send me one and I'll feature it in my videos! :)

She is sweet
Your video is very low quality. It's too blurry to really see the instrument.
Thanks for pointing that out. For some reason it is now much lower resolution than when I first uploaded it. I will see if I can update it.
