Maa'm you teaching very well but One of the mistakes you have made is that you have given an example that(علی تین گھنٹے سے یہاں سو رہا ہے)that means Ali has been sleeping here for three hours.so it comes down to present perfect tense ..۔۔so here is example (علی تین گھنٹے سے یہاں سو رہا تھا )→Ali had been sleeping over here for 3 hours.
