In the West many things are considered as "gay behavior" which are not being considered as gay in India, recently one of my Indian friends told me that I looked cute on my dp and I thought: "You gay?" and then another Indian friend of mine explained me that saying such things is not being considered as gay in India. (I'm from Greece by the way)
First of all. Even if he is gay, nothing wrong in him giving compliments. I personally wont use that particular word to describe a fellow males likability, but being cute is a desired trait at least half the men want to attract a partner. Take the compliment, and feel good about yourself and stop judging the other guy. Thats my take.
@@avocatobigpp4249 they do in greece too (twice on cheeks) and they also give compliments to each other but it's more about the way they do it that might come off as gay and the preexisting level of confidence
I’ve seen this many times in Asia. I think that in countries where personal space is smaller this is just normal social interaction. Some western countries, the US?, could really benefit from opening their eyes to beyond their front door. Keep the videos coming, they’re great!
I my opinion in countries where it is rare to see couples (man and woman) holding hands together due to society, it's more common to see men holding hands with each other. I visited my parents homeland Eritrea, two years ago and my male family members were always holding hands with me. Nothing gay about it. It's all about a matter of perspective.
You are right; in places where opposite-sex affection is forbidden in public, you see far more same-sex affection. They also tend to be countries where homosexuality is very repressed and hidden, so that heterosexuals never worry about being seen as gay.
I think it's absolutely fine to hold hand regardless of gender.... In West it's considered gay, especially in US. I think we Indians should not think like that and keep what we have. There was a time when kissing on cheeks regardless of any gender was not noticed.. Now if one person kissed other of same sex, if they are guys people think they are gay, which is ridiculous it's more in US. In Europe even guys kiss on lips, which is kind of something more but anyways, it's the sense of maturity one culture have. If your society define ones sexual orientation seeing one Holding hands or kissing (non sensual), so sorry you are going downwards.....
"in europe" nah. maybe kissing in the cheek as a greatting to be restful or between family, but kissing in the lips, nah. Even whatI mention is weird to see in cities with some many people of different backgrounds thing tent to go to the minimum i guess
@@martillodelajusticia7211 well by europe i meant most of eastern europe. Kissing on the lips with close mouth I think is acceptable with their own toddlers, and friends of same sex. Infact my own friend once got very excited in the game and kissed on my lips. At first i found it weird. Especially once i said them i found it weird, They bloody all kissed me on lips to comfort me and normalise this. Nothing sexual. Even in a wedding the groom's brother who was his best friend as well dressed as bride's gown appeared in front of him and the groom kissed him and jokes that 'im taking him home, he had taken care of me since childhood, he would be a better wife". you better fight back against this, we in western society are raised in cult of women and no brotherhood, as a result the suicide rates of men in western countries are extremely high
The fact that you only mention Western attitudes and not Japanese, or Korean, or Chinese, or African shows that you are prejudiced against the West. Do you think Japanese men hold hands with each other in Japan? Do you think Mongolian men hold hands with each other in Mongolia?

I first visited India in 2005. I noticed this within a few hours after getting off the plane. At first I thought it was gay men, than I realized it couldn't be, since there were just too many of these men holding hands for them all to be gay. India is such a fascinating place.
I actually like this, and want this. I had a friend that was touchy and we were very close. People thought we were together just, because walked, stood, and sit very closely next to each other. I hate this American culture and stereotypes. I always want to show affection, but I can't and it hurts to keep it inside.
Took me about a week for it not to seem...funny ,for want of a better word , but after that it just became part of the culture, like the French and Italians kissing. Had a wonderful six weeks in and around the Punjab, lovely locations, friendly people and the food is second to none. Great video
I'm kinda sad about it. In some countries it's acceptable only for married or coupled ppl. In other just for friendship reaspns while the same affection is frowned apon by couples. Why not just ignore it and let ppl hold hands regardless of what it means. I hold hands with my romantic partner, my family and my friends. It gives me great comfort and a feeling of connection. It's sad that some ppl feel they aren't allowed to or get conditioned into not accepting affectionate touches.
Really funny. And why does Arab men and African men do the same thing? Even funnier when they try the same with a European man. Didnt bother me. In fact I got used to Them not wanting to let go ny hand when saying hello 😂😂

Being queer in India was never a problem until the British colonial period sadly they ruined our culture and religion. That accepts everyone no matter what.
Makes you realize the same reason you hold hands with a girl is basically just the same in the indian perspective. A sign of trust and sort of platonic connection in its most elemental form. Like the reason why children hold their hands with their mothers really.
In South Italy in my village where I live it is not unusual to see sometimes mans especially young walk arm to arm, this is a meaning of be more than good friends
My question then is this. why does sexual orientation matter ever? 🙄 Holding hands is fine. hugging is fine. but being romantically involved with the same sex is just "absolutely insane" you ask why is this strange. we ask the same question.. why is it strange for men to love men or women to love women. that's why we ask this question.
Nice video.. personally, I think that holding hands is still considered sexual in India.. if it involves the opposite sex.. I think the reason why girls or guys holding hands with each other is not seen as sexual is because we're not normalized or exposed to homosexuality in India. So there's no reason for the average indian to see same sex people holding hands as sexual. Dunno . Just a thought.. 😁
Definitely. Like it doesn't even occur to people that the same sex could be a sexual thing. But they are hypersensitive to the opposite sex, so a man and woman who are just friends can't touch each other without people thinking it's sexual. It's all about different taboos.
Why don't men do anything affectionate with their wives or girlfriends in India. Well, what I have seen anyway. I've seen stars bro hug their friends or lean on each other sitting close, but they act like it's wrong to show that kind of affection with their respective "significant other". Personally, I was always a bit "flirty" with everyone that I connected with. I saw it as kind affection but my culture's attitude was that I was flirting. I'm a girl in the US. I want people to feel loved so I guess I treat people the way I want to be treated, with a comforting hug or a hand on the shoulder. A lot of people don't get touched and they feel cold or unloved. In the Bible a man told Jesus "if you just wanted to you could touch me and I'd be healed". And so Jesus touched him and said "I want to" and he was healed. I have remembered that my whole life, and I know I get sad when it's been too long not having my parents hug or my brother hug me. I have those bromance kind of friends too, where we soft punch each other on the arm, you know, to show affection but not get too sappy, lol
I was not in india but sri lanka and there I did see a lot of male physical contact, was a little strange to start with but then I realised their were just mates
