In this video, I breakdown the new trailer for The Penguin Series and give you my thoughts on the new footage. The Penguin is an upcoming American television limited series created by Lauren LeFranc for the streaming service Max. Based on the DC Comics character Penguin, it is a spin-off from the film The Batman (2022) that explores the Penguin's rise to power in Gotham City's criminal underworld. The series is produced by 6th & Idaho, DC Studios, and Dylan Clark Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, with LeFranc serving as showrunner. Colin Farrell stars as the Penguin, reprising his role from The Batman, alongside Cristin Milioti.

The official trailer for The Penguin series has been released and so far, it's looking like a great spin-off of Matt Reeves' Batman saga. Here's my breakdown and review of the new trailer.

Now someone take that screenshot at 9:00 and put it side by side with the Batman Returns poster! And even though I don't have max, I can't wait for Batman 2!
It's refreshing to see the batverse in this neo nior, soprano style presentation...gives the whole thing gravitas instead of the cartoonish over the top schlock that is normally presented...
And cudos to Colin for his portrayal of penguin...gritty, hard core...total soprano approach....harkins back to old Hollywood....you almost wanna see him go up against classic Hollywood tough guys like Humphrey Bogart or Spencer Tracey.....
i think DC should embrace the elseworlds set up, They can make original stories and takes of the characters while not labeling it as a cinematic universe. They can experiment on it a lot and take different themes. technically Joker and the batman didn't feel like superhero movies it just felt like the classic movies from the 70s where its focused on story rather than theatrics. I feel like DC is not playing their cards with this kinds of idea. They can make Movies with super hero characters and make it into character driven movies with different genres like noir, surrealism or even horror. I think DC should focus on making original stories instead of a cinematic universe. I would like to see a Martian manhunter with noir elements and take inspiration from the invasion of the body snatchers, the sign and even the thing into one movie. Alot of these movies would be experimental and low budget compared to the block buster and the good thing about this is that if it flops it wont be a big damage monetary wise for WB and they don't have to worry about making a sequel or a series unlike if a movie from a cinematic universe sucked it basically impacts everything. My point, DC needs to embrace original ideas and stray from comic book adaptations especially if they cant make a plan. The focus should be noir type or even pulp like.

While Robert Pattinson is a good actor he’s a terrible Batman. I would prefer a silent warrior type who is a genius detective. Robert is a skinny dude that I could easily beat up, he’s no batman

🥱 Yet another super hero film. Super heroes battling super heroes. I just wonder in what way this reflects the state of mind of people living in the 2010-20. It used to be Western in the 1950-60 for example. No matter how attractive the films, the premise is super boring. No pun intended. More for teenage boys and narcissists, who famously remain childlike in certain areas.

Haha this guys an idiot. I get the western reference but there is no logic in this statement. This isn’t a superhero show at all it’s a comic book villain in a realistic atmosphere. It’s basically the sopranos, why don’t you read the premise before you sound off like a child.
