Hi everyone!! I attempted the Draw This Again challenge! 5 years later! This is my attempt at redrawing my first fantasy art drawing of an Ice Dragon! I worked on the original back in 2016 and it means a lot to me. I've been looking forward to sharing this with you! Let me know what you think! Let me know what kind of story you imagine is happening in this drawing too. And as always, feel free to post a comment if you have any suggestions for future art videos you want to see from me! Thank you so much for the continued awesome support! I really appreciate it. Hope you're having a great day. :) -Chris
@@LethalChris1 “Oasis, the lost dragon: a man lost his wife kids, and tribes by an evil dragon, it’s eyes were flaming red hot, his body was black and skin was impenetrable, the man lost all hope, until he read the story of the white dragon, he put his red cape on, and he set out on a quest, to find the lost dragon, known as the dragon of hope, he faced many obstacles sent by the dark dragon, and the man faced all obstacles, on his quest to find the dragon of hope and free the world from the dark dragon” Just came up with the story as seeing the dragon and the red caped man, just giving a story idea, you probably have a better story as I write this
I like the first one better. I’m not saying it is objectively better or anything, I just like it more. Also, Chris if you’re reading this you’re abilities have been steadily improving for as long as I’ve watched your content and your art continues to amaze me. You’re constant growth as an artist is really inspiring and makes me want to work harder.
Thank you so much for the feedback and the awesome support! I really appreciate it. Wishing you lots of support with your art! Hope you have a great week! :)
I remember watching your old video the exact day it came out and now I see that you've improved tremendously over the years. Goodluck in the future and keep drawing for us all
I remember the Fantasy Art Fridays and I always loved your Dragon drawings, as I'm a big fan of dragons in general. Your drawings are so amazing and I'm very thankful that you recreate the beautiful old drawings that brought me to you in the first place and it's a great reminder of the time back then.
I remember watching the first dragon thinking wow awesome, this one blew me out of the water! So amazing and I love your caped knight. Ice dragon one of the few of his kind left in the world, his knowledge of healing is vast, he has the power to heal the land bring peace. However he has lost faith in man so hid himself away. One true knight has been on a quest to bring peace once more to his kingdom, unfortunately while out on his quest he was set upon his dragon raced to save him bringing him to the one healer, know the ice dragon has seen good in the world he is ready to step forth to bring healing one more to land that is bathed in the blood of man. Thanks for a great video Chris.
I remember watching your original ice dragon drawing. The improvement is astounding! Your beautiful artwork continues to inspire me to draw dragons of my own.
Fabulous artwork! I think the red caped characters is collecting powers from the various dragons we see him with. I'd love to see a dragon done with coffee.
The redraw is amazing. I especially love how you differentiated between the upper and lower jaws with that bit of shading. It made it look so much more real, like the dragon could actually open his mouth.
When I see your ice dragon what comes to my mind is a dragon from a netflix series called "Dragon prince". Though he was a lightning dragon(and specifically the eldest but strongest of them all) their appearances are so much alike and I love it! Also, I think that you have not just improved but actually modify your draing style and I think that changes in our every day life are essential.
It's a fantastic idea to try to redo some of your previous artwork. Seeing the progress encourages other people to keep practicing. You have grown so much in your skill and creativity! This piece is amazing! Great work.
I remember watching the first ice dragon video. I can’t believe it’s been five years! I’ve so very much enjoyed watching your artistry grow and flourish. There are so many stories to be told in this picture. The picture just makes my mind race with all sorts of possibilities. An idea for another dragon perhaps? What about one that’s of nothing but spirit, or from an ethereal realm? You never cease to make me want to pick up my sketch pad and pens. I hope you’re having a fantastic week, Chris!
You've definitely improved. You've added detail, depth and an interesting choice of color. I like that there seems to be some experimental aspects of your art as well.
Thank you so much for the feedback and support!! I definitely spend more time thinking about the process these days, trying to find different ways to approach the drawing. Thank you again! I really appreciate the kind words.
Aww I missed these dragon designs so much. It's amazing seeing the difference between the two artworks, you've improved a lot. The variations in hue helped the piece stand out more rather than the solid blue tones.
Incredibly nice progress, and very cool effect with the yellow! I believe this dragon uses the "head armor" to break ice walls and build his nest, maybe that's even more powerfull than his claws.
I was 12 or 11 when I first saw this video, because of that, it inspired me to become an artist and draw more things, especially dragons. So, thank you for inspiring me to become better at art, have a good day!
Love the dragon Chris! The body is a bit odd with the large head but other than that, amazing work! Your old dragon drawings is what made me come to your channel and I loved every single artwork you posted afterwards. (:
Maybe you can draw something with feathers next time. Maybe a gryphen, but this one has not the head of an eagle and the body of a lion, but some other animals. Maybe the head of a toucan and the body of a jaguar.
Hey Chris I always look forward to your videos and what can I say? You've nailed it again! 😊 This drawing is really nice and it's fun watching you work and listening to you're thoughts wile doing so. Big 👍👍👍
I remember when you drew that dragon! Your videos gave me inspiration to start my own art journey! The redraw is beautiful! Both pieces are amazing! I can't choose between the 2, because they both are by an amazing artist! Great video Lethal!
I really do love the drawings for fantasy creatures that you do, one thing I always wished you would do is how to draw these cool things! I personally would love to to see one for dragons.
Wow your work has always been gorgeous but you’ve also improved so much! There’s so much more depth and form to the dragon now and it looks even more colossal! Beautiful colouring too as always.
I remember the first time I saw the video for the ice dragon, I was 9. That video literally inspired me to really get into drawing dragons, now I'm 14 and my love dragons it has grown even farther
Hello Chris, just wanted to say i really appreciate yout artwork! This ice dragon turned out to be so majestic and powerful looking in his ice cave. Recently I painted bird robin using your drawing as a reference. Thank You for inspiring others to draw and enjoy in the process. :)

This is the first video I’ve ever seen of you, and I’m disappointed that I haven’t seen more of your video’s. Keep up the good work! This was really cool! I like that you’ve really used more shades of blue. People often forget that blue isn’t just the sky. It has millions of shades, and ice does too, and I think you portrayed that really good in your drawing! (Edit: I’m guilty of the blue forgetting thing)
I love the drawing! The touch of yellow giving the piece a little bit warmth throughout it gives it that nice contrast. I feel rude about critiquing but I do think that there could be some more shadows behind the 2 front legs, so they don't look as flat but other then that, this piece is like 100% better then your previous one:) Love your content and cant wait to see more!
Another stunning piece of art, Chris! I’m always excited to see your dragon drawings and even though the 2016 version is amazing, it’s great to see how far you’ve come 💜💜

The advancements and improvements in technique, color selection and balance, composition, and confidence are clear and quite frankly, outstanding. There are some areas of the image where the darks should be a bit darker or more pronounced (undercarriage, folds between highlight and edge lights, and connection/fold points of various appendages). Just making some of these darks pop a bit more, especially with such a light background would really make the image super powerful. Can't wait for the next 5 years of art!
The little character gives a pretty good idea similar of how big these dragons are... My goodness these dragons seem to dwarf the largest dinosaur ^^ and it's cool... No pun intended
Yes, it was an improvement, but you can try anything you want that you'll always make your art better because, I'll never be tired to say it, you're a very talented young man.
