Actually just picked up this case for the 2024 11” iPad Pro and I love the multiple angles and the ability to detach the iPad from the majority of the case.
I just received mine after seeing this review. The magnets holding the iPad case to the folio is strong but the magnets on the covers in the rear are not but this folio is definitely stable in writing. I replaced my Zugu case with this and am happy so far. This folio case even has a smaller angle than the Zugu which I thought had the lowest. Some things to mention: this case does feel of lower quality compared to the Zugu, however, the stand feature is a game changer. No other case except MOFT has this feature. I only wish the folio was thicker and magnets in the rear were slightly stronger (for a more solid feel like the Zugu’s). Other than that I’m happy with this case.
@@KrmSnty92 this case is much lighter even when mounted in the folio. This case has so much features and functionality, I’m surprised it doesn’t get as much attention as other cases.
@@KrmSnty92 you’re right. I meant when the iPad is not mounted to the folio it’s much lighter. But with the folio it’s identical to the Zugu. What are your primary requirements out of a case?
I bought the protector on Aliexpress, it arrived yesterday and I was surprised that I paid $35 dollars for it but the quality makes me think I paid $100 dollars, the touch feels premium and I love how practical it is for my iPad, it is almost perfect Except for two details, it does not have a magnetic closure on the cover, I solved that by adding an elastic band as if it were a notebook, it looked great! The other detail is that although the magnets are strong, I would have liked the position change magnets to adjust the angle of inclination to be 10% or 20% more powerful. Except for that, it is practically perfect, it is economical and of super quality compared to other more expensive and less versatile cases.
I like the case. Its a near perfect case but the deal breaker for me is that there are no magnets to keep the cover closed over the screen when not in use. It just flops open when carrying it. So if dropped there is possibility that it flops open on the way to the ground. The screen is the most fragile part of the iPad and should be protected.
I just received mine. There are magnets to keep the lid closed. I tested this by standing the case on the binding and the lid did close by magnet. I also tried making the lid fall open but it does not.
Do you know if the internal case is compatible with their rebound keyboard case? As in, does the iPad with bumper installed affix to both the shift magnetic case and the rebound keyboard case?
Is the pencil holder really secure? Feels like its easy to lost the Pencil, specially for someone kinda distracted as I. Also, I have a 5mm keyboard that's the same size of the iPAd screen, do you think I'd be able to close the case with this keyboard inside? Or is the case very tight and would not close properly if adding the keyboard?
@@88158206 Pencil sleeve is quite snug and I had no issues even when in chucked this my bag whilst travelling abroad! Also, the case is quite tight and you cannot squeeze anything inside it even though you me keyboard is very thin, it will not fit!
Ya, unfortunately ESR doesn’t do a version for 12.9 inch iPad Pro .. think it is something to do with the weight of the iPad and the float position of this case!
The speaker grills are different .. and this one has a sleeve with speaker hole cutouts .. so I’d check compatibility from the manufacturer before ordering!
Fantastic review, and the case looks especially good! I have one question, the inner part, what is the material like on the inside? Is it soft touch or hard?
Thank you .. the inner part of both the case and the sleeve are very soft to the touch .. it will protect your iPad .. I have been using it whenever I travel and have no issues whatsoever 😊
Think it might work on 2018 versions .. as the design is pretty similar .. just the microphone and speakers placement might differ. Plz send a support request to ESR and see what they say!
Does anybody know how to order this from esr india s site because as soon as i put my debit info it doesn’t not accepting payment etc and site starts to lag its only happening with india s site
I am buying this in place of a decent Spiegel case, which has the little magnet pyramid design for standing, which I'm not keen on. The only issue I've noticed is that the Touch ID button is quite deep to reach through the case, not as comfortable as the Spiegen. I found that this resulted in my middle finger sitting better than my forefinger here, so I reprogrammed my settings. I have small fingers, so this could be even trickier for someone with large ones.I have the iPad Air 5th generation, and they are seliing this case for that model, but possibly the button issue doesn't apply to the Pro? Thanks for a nice video!
ESR says the Shift is only for the iPad Pro 11 Gen 3 (2021) or 4 (2022) and NOT Gen 1 (2018) or 2 (2020) even though they're all the same dimensions. Can you confirm that it works with a 2020 Gen 2 iPad Pro 11? I didn't get it because of what ESR claims and bought the similar but more limited Zugu case instead.
Not sure about iPad Pro 2018 but the iPad which I am showing my video is iPad Pro 2020 model! And the case is perfectly compatible with that version. However, ESR does update their designs slightly to make the case more compatible with newer iPad models. The speaker placement is slightly different on the M1 and M2 iPad Pros so not entirely sure if ESR updated the case after my video. Best thing is to email their support and check.
@@RaavMedia I emailed ESR Gear support and they were less than helpful -- just a rather nebulous response of: "This is because the model and camera part will be different when the product is upgraded and updated. That's why they're sold separately to avoid the shell not being able to be installed and fit completely." As you mentioned the speaker placement is slightly different (are they partially blocked with the 2020?) but to the best of my knowledge their physical dimensions are identical and the rear camera module is the same across 2020, 2021, and 2022 with their biggest differences being A12Z Bionic, M1, and M2 processors.
Unfortunately, it won’t work for iPad Air as the buttons placement is different as well, including the TouchID button. On iPad Pro, the power button is much smaller than iPad Air
Liking mine just fine. Had an expensive Bridges one with a hard keyboard, but never took to it because it was hard to take it on and off. This one is more versatile.
Absolutely.. I really like this design a lot.. I like that you don’t have to use the outer shell if it’s not needed. I find this super useful when reading an ebook or gaming on the iPad 😊
Will the outer case attach to the iPad without the silicon sleeve that goes directly on the iPad? Or is that silicon case required to use the outer stand portion?
Dang, that's a bummer. The pitaka works with the magic keyboard, which i use regularly. Pitaka's mag ez foio isn't great, but the slim case is great@@RaavMedia
No compensation.. just my honest take 😄 … and extra flaps are needed for all those positions it offers and the pencil sleeve .. it’s pretty much the same material on all cases .. as it needs to have that elasticity.. so all of them use the same material 😉
This is just junk. The magnetism in the case is such faint that it drops out all the time. And the little back flap doesn’t work at all. The demonstration in the clip is obviously a trick.
Really?? One thing that clearly stood out on this case was how strong the magnets are!! And fake demonstration?? So I purposefully cut the case open to add extra magnets ?? 😄😄
