    • @mindful_senses5475
      @mindful_senses5475 4 года назад +2

Sarah Meredith Absolutely! I don’t think they’re saying they wouldn’t rather their children had born healthy. Of course, for the child’s sake, you want them to be 💯 healthy. I think they’re saying everything happens for a reason, and this won’t affect how they feel about their baby. IMHO, Things like this deepen a persons relationship with God, and it strengthens, if not teaches, true compassion and empathy for others. On the faith side: As far as I know, no one in the Bible ever asked Jesus for healing and was turned away. He’s the same today, yesterday and forever. I believe it will happen, just not on their time.

Thank you for being honest and saying that it's not always good and not always easy, but it's def worth it in the end since you can end up having a great life regardless of having difficulties, it's still worth carrying on and staying strong and believing and praying that everything will go fine and knowing that God's hands can be put on the surgeons hands and make this little guys life a little bit better now. Anyway I'm glad you have lived life and not doing so as a victim but rather living the best life that is right for you.

That is the same location of my spina bifida. L4-L5. My parents didn't know I was going to be born with spina bifida until after I was born. I've had 11-12 surgeries from the time I was born up until my early teen years. I am now 27 years old and very blessed I have still been able to live a normal healthy life. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to me.

I mean this in the kindest way possible. I know that no one wants their child to have a disability, that no one plans their life this way. But you guys will be the PERFECT parents for a special needs child. Not everyone has the same loving & kind hearts that you guys do. This baby is lucky to have you guys as his parents. Your love for God, and belief in him, yourselves & your child, is truly astonishing. I’m praying for y’all. That little boy will change your life, no matter his diagnosis. 💖

Praying for your baby and your family! My godson (1.5yrs old) is going in for his 4th brain surgery tomorrow in Cincinnati and their doctors and hospital are AMAZING. The damage in his brain from the condition that he has caused him to have cerebral palsy and after his last surgery he started walking which was unsure of when/if he would but after each surgery he got closer! They are seriously the best! Praying for a safe surgery, recovery, pregnancy, and delivery for you guys! ♥️

I think it’s absolutely incredible that surgery can be done on babies now before they are born. It’s a very secure feeling knowing that babies don’t have to be born and go directly into surgery. You’re going to be so surprised when your baby is born and you realize just how perfect he really is. He’s going to do amazing when he’s born and as he continues to grow.

I have a two friends who’s sons have Spina bifida, one had intrauterine surgery and the other could not due to mothers health, the one who had intrauterine walks completely unassisted with no braces, the other needs braces and crutches for both sides. The difference is really crazy- but both are loved and beautiful people.

My son at 16 was in a terrible car accident, most of his bones were broken and he had severe internal injuries. He was on his way home from work on a Sunday afternoon about 4:30. My husband drove up at the accident scene and followed them to the hospital, I began praying ceaselessly and arrived about 20 minutes after them. They let me see him on his way into emergency surgery and I got to tell him I loved him and I would be there when he woke up. During surgery a blood clot went into his lungs and caused a condition called ARDS, he had less than a 5% chance of surviving! He was unconscious for the next four weeks and God woke him up on Easter Sunday morning in April of 2000! He had several problems that he was not out of the woods, we prayed! We had church’s all over the world praying for him and I would update every Saturday, he would spend the next eight months in the hospital 6 were on a ventilator because he could not breath with the open hole in his chest. God healed the hole and blessed him with the courage to learn to walk again and to feed himself and become a beautiful human being. He is now a doctor and teaches about being the patient in the bed. He has had several accommodations, he is not boastful because he knows God saved him for a purpose! Never stop praying even when it seems hard or defeating God will always do a miracle with purpose! Love and prayers always!

As a fellow Christian, I admire your guys’ faith and fervency that you both have had in this tough time. I know this is not news that any parent wants to hear and it can be a hard reality to come to grips with. However, from a place of love and concern, you both need to be careful that you don’t make the desired miracle or outcome you’re praying for an idol. Yes, God does miracles and can fulfill the impossible, but you need to desire HIS will more than the will that you desire, even if what you want is good. Start thanking God for the diagnosis, pray for each individual circumstance or outcome positive or negative that could happen and ask that He would prepare your heart for whatever that is. I guarantee you if you approach God from that perspective, He will honor that selflessness far more than what you could possibly think and bless you even greater for it. Hope this helps!

I am impressed with you and your husband’s faith. My husband and I have been following your journey. Our baby was diagnosed with Spina bifida too, and we opted to do surgery at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Our baby was born on July 12, 2019. He is doing great! His lesion was at L3 and is kicking his legs and moving his toes! God is great! We saw SO many miracles along our journey too. I’m glad you are recognizing the miracles that have happened for you already. Although the journey can feel overwhelming at times, God is with you and will get you through it. I’d love to share any insights to the surgery or answer any questions. Please reach out if you want!

I love how much faith you have had in God! I also love that you continue to believe even though God did not heal your baby. God works in mysterious ways. Like you said in your video, God is blessing every step of the process, from guiding the hands of the doctors and surgeons, to providing the blessing of a home to stay in while needing to stay in Cincinnati. As long as you continue to praise His name, God will continue to bless you and your child. No matter the outcome this child is a blessing and his life has already made a great impact on the world as well as brought great praise to God's name because of the faith you both have shown through this trial.

Hi Lexie! I discovered your channel a little bit ago and usually do not comment or anything, but I felt the need to share this with you. I am a pre-nursing student at IU, and also was a swim instructor, and one period I had a beautiful little girl in my class who has spina bifida. She, to this day, is the brightest, happiest, funniest child I have ever met, and I fully believe God helps her challenge and conquer the world with every step she takes. She was so brave and willing to learn, and other kids followed HER example. I truly believe this child will be a blessing to you, that God willing he heals by God's plan. I would like to believe that God knew this little boy needs you both as his mommy and daddy, and that you both will be blessings to him as much as he'll be a blessing to you guys. I'll be praying for you! Thank you for sharing your story

Several years ago I took care of a little girl in the church nursery who had intrauterine surgery for SB. I don’t remember the details. I do remember the scar. And I remember us always watching her to see what would happen. It never slowed her down. She sat up. She walked. She did everything! God has an amazing plan for your little one. No doubt. My cousin has Spina Bifida and he is very active in his life. He has his own family, works, played on a national championship wheelchair basketball league, he can walk just not through places like Disney World but that is due to the fact that he had caught meningitis as an infant before he had is repairative surgery(he was born in the late 70's) so it messed with him a little more. Overall he has a very happy fulfilling life. He never let people tell him he can't do something and has always believed God will tell him when he has gone to far. Blessings to you and your little one.

You’ve probably heard many stories. And that’s OK, I just wanna share with you mine. When my brother was just four years old, he fell out of some boxes and broke his elbow, the bone was shattered in such a way that that Little arm will stop growing, at least that was the doctor’s diagnosis. Long story short, my mom used to say to him every single night, ask Jesus to heal you, he listens to children, she used to say this every single night, for weeks And weeks, needless to say my brother is now an adult, with a perfect arm.
I love the way that youYou share your faith. I will pray for you and for your unborn child

I’m also from Indiana and went to see the specialists in Cincinnati. In 2017 my daughter was diagnosed with Spina Bifida. Unfortunately her Spina Bifida was very severe and she was not a candidate for surgery. Sadly, 3 days after our consultation with Cincinnati she passed away. But I fully believe that she is healed with Jesus. I am so very happy that you are qualified for surgery and I’m praying for your little family ❤️❤️

What a blessing to have a place to stay! I had open fetal surgery with my now 2 yr old son, but I have friends who had fetoscopic surgery with their baby. I know your minds are in a whirlwind with all of the information and “facts” that you learned about your child, but God is in control. We’re praying God will work miracles through your surgeons and that others will be encouraged by watching you walk step by step in faith following the Lord! ❤️

I live down by Cincinnati and I’m actually from near where y’all are at. My little sister in law goes to Cincinnati children’s a lot due to her medical problems and let me tell you, your baby will be in great hands. My mother in law actually prefers them over Indianapolis children’s. Sending my thoughts and prayers to you guys through this difficult time.

I know a little boy that was diagnosed with craniosynostosis, which is a defect where the bones in the skull fuse too early. My church and I had been praying for him for a while, and one night I felt God lead me to intercede for him. As I was praying for him, I had a moment where I knew God had healed him. Instead of praying for healing, I thanked God for healing him, and I feel the same way about your little boy. I know God is doing a miracle.

I'm 27 years old (soon to be 28!) and I was born with the worst form of Spina Bifida. I am also an L4 and L5. I am praying hard for you guys. I can't sit here and tell you it is an easy ride, but I can tell you that medicine is so much more advanced than when I was born and he has a good chance of living a fairly normal life. I am thankful that you found out so early on, so you can research and get doctor's advice. I will be praying for healing of your baby, but if that doesn't happen I pray for God's hand to guide your baby's life and your lives.

I have watched film of surgery on Spina bifida babies and it is absolutely marvelous. As you have probably been told, giving birth to a sb baby can harm the site and make the condition worse, so intra uterine surgery can really help in some cases, depending on the severity. Good luck to you all x

I'm glad you have such strong faith. But I'm not saying he won't heal your baby because it is possible. I'm just saying, God will not heal and fix everything that comes our way, because some things are just meant to be. He made that precious baby a certain way for a reason. If he doesn't will you be angry at him for not fully healing your baby?? We cant just expect these things and say he will for sure heal your child, Because you're setting yourself up for a let down if he doesn't. We can pray and hope for healing and ask him but we cant expect him to ya know? God does things for a reason! and he works in mysterious ways. You will love him regardless. God made him/her the way he wanted ❤🙏 But I'm continuing to pray for your baby!! Not trying to hate in anyway. I'm just saying. But God bless you and your family of 3 ❤

so glad that you qualify for the surgery. my son didnt sadly because of how he was attached to the uterus. My son went to school with the next baby that did qualify for the surgery. they had the same opening and issues, and she came out so much better then he did. this baby will be better off with the surgery. it has shown to be great for the baby. i pray it works well for him and that you both come through it well! start looking at doctors and finding the ones that will care for him now. also check out the spina bifida clinic at Vanderbilt childrens hospital. best in the country!

God heals in many miraculous ways. Sometimes it is not always in the ways we see or what are looking for. I am sure his thoughts were on strengthening your baby for the upcoming surgery. Guiding doctor's hands so they can be steady on such a small little tiny baby. Yes many many prayers have come your way my dear, please don't think they do what you asked. For he knows what is to come. We just have to trust in him. Keep thinking positive. Keep praying.. praying for you and your family.

You encourage my walk with the Lord, I believe in miracles, and will always believe in them no matter how small or how big. I went through complications with my youngest daughter and she is now 4 years old and has been the biggest blessing in our family, when all odds were against her, God prevailed he never worked the way we thought he would, he did it his way it requires a lot of faith. Your son and your family will shake the world for our lord, the calling and anointing is so tangible on you guys.

I have left a message before. My daughter has spina bifida and we found out when she was 18. She has 5 vertebrates missing. She can walk and doesn't have any disability. My question is...is the back open and can the baby move his legs. Was just curious if he could be totally functional without the surgery.

    Hey Lexie,
I'm really sorry that you are going through this difficult time. It is great to hear that you are acknowledging how God is working in your life, even when it isn't the "ideal" outcome. I unfortunately just found out that I had a silent miscarriage at 8 weeks and even in that time of sadness we could see God working things together. Our hope and comfort is that God is good - all the time!
Praying for you all and the journey ahead - love your sister in Christ.

I have Spina Bifida. I watched your pregnancy announcement a long time ago cause I was just watching lots of pregnancy announcement videos that day and happened to click on yours. So crazy! I am 25 years old and in my senior year of college. Spina Bifida doesn't go away and is a lot to process but you can live a happy and good life with it. Mine is myelomeningocele and is L5 S1. I also have Hydrocephalus. I had the surgery after I was born because in '94 there was no other option. Praying for your growing family. I hope this comment can be an encouragement. Praying for your sweet family and all who will have have a hand in the medical care of yourself as well as your precious baby. I sent you an email with the testimony of myself and my son. My son is a cardiac patient who had open heart surgery at 16 days old. With all that occurred during my pregnancy, my son's birth, and in the first two years of his life I have been able to witness the hand of God and His amazing power and grace time and time again. In the end, you and your child will have an extremely powerful testimony, just as my son and I do. These testimonies will greatly affect those who hear them and win hearts for the kingdom as well as encourage brothers and sisters in Christ who will go through similar trials.
