Man, when I was a kid, Star Wars ships, especially anything from Toys R Us, was only a birthday or Christmas item. I never got anything besides a figure here or there unless it was a special occasion. I remember in 5th grade, I had just had a birthday and had some money. I went into Toys R Us to spend it, and made a B-Line to the Star Wars aisle. I had wanted a gunship for forever, but they were too expensive. To my surprise, there sat a Tigershark on the shelf. I grabbed it up immediately and counted out that I had enough to get it. Without hesitation, thats what I went home with. I can’t count how many hours I played with that thing. I would always pull one wing off and lay the ship on its side and have my clones defending the crash site from a droid attack. The paint has chipped and worn off the forward cannons from all the time I played with it. I still have the ship, the box, and to my surprise all the pieces. I have recently gotten into buying a few things here and there that I didnt have as a kid. One of them being a speeder bike that goes in the storage bay, as well as the Arc troopers that go with the ship. I think im going to hang it from the ceiling in my man cave and make a little display.
I can’t get over how affordable ships used to be. They catered more to kids back then and now it’s the adult collector. I’d be shocked if they release a vehicle of any kind under $100 in the future
You uploading this right before Christmas brings back a memory of the Christmas attack of the clones came out. I got a republic gunship an anakin figure an obi wan figure and that coleman trebor guy jango fett shot that year. I loved that thing.
I just got the command version at a flea market for $25. It's missing one door, and a few turrets, but its got most of the missiles/bombs that clip onto it, and overall still a good find. I was confused at first when researching it because I couldn't find a black and yellow one. I didn't initially think it could've been yellowed to that point bc it had a lot of white on it, but that turned out to be the paint. I actually kinda like the color scheme, and as I restore it by 3d printing, I may keep the yellow. Not sure yet, though, I may paint it up some other way. Excited nonetheless!
You are the man for doing this video. Thank you. I grew up with the prequels and anytime a old person starts giving me crap for it I just point out the cheesiness and "writing" in the first three movies and they leave me alone, always.
I’d like to see a reissue and slightly more screen accurate Hypori “Rancor /tigershark” gunship. Full enclosing doors, but not the forward crewman doors, the correct colour and an exclusive arc pilot. Also some retooling to have an opening door beneath the cockpit that might pull out and double as a stretcher. A medivac module at the rear with a rear opening hatch 👍
I got the big bubble turrets and the brown speeder bike to attach to my 2002 gunship and it’s 100% screen accurate to the prequels and looks amazing. Also bought the Clone Wars missile turrets so I can fire the extra eight missiles on top.
A bit late to the posts but...me and about 20 other people in my class skipped school to watch Episode 2. I remember seeing the gunship and I was in love. Such an awesome piece of hardware. Little did I know, the first time I saw this at Kaybee, I bought it! I didnt even know it was in production. My same gunship will be hanging from my office ceiling soon. I need the bubble turrets, so if anyone wants to sell, message me!
Nice comparison and contrast review, dude! You're the only other person I've seen that has all seven, and I've not opened the Crumb and Ultimate versions. It's been great to have a look at them!
That green ROTS gunship was also the first gunship I got as a kid, my mom and dad bought for me on my birthday after months of ebay stalking, years of constant dreaming, and a failed buy from a seller that had the normal 2002 AOTC model (our $200 bid apparently didn't meet their requirements lol.) As a much lower income family seeing this arrive and putting it together truly made me and my parents happy. I still have it even to this day, although the tail gun went missing the same day it was put together and I think one of the forward facing turrets is lost somewhere under my house (damn mice.)
Impressive collection. I have two both AoTC. One was heavily played with when I was a kid the other my dad made me keep in the box, good on him for that.
Such a great video. Watched several times. Personally, have the Crumb Bomber, the Tiger Shark and have the ToysRUs TVC arriving tomorrow. I really thought that'd do me, but watching your video again is really making me wonder!
As far as I'm aware there are four major paint variants. The Revenge of the Sith Version, Target Exclusive Tigershark, Toys R Us exclusive Clone Wars, and Imperial Deco.
I have not. To be honest, it is a bit of a cost issue. Many of the accessories have really increased in value. If you are interested the video would have included: The hunt for grevious battle pack, the Clone attack on coruscant battle pack, the geonosis assault battle pack, the Attack of the clones clone trooper with firing turret, and both variants of the Attack of the clones clone trooper with speeder bike.
I know I'm rather late to this, but the command gunship is from the 2003 Clone Wars series, though it has a green nose instead of a red one. It appears in volume 1 during the opening of the battle of Muunilinst and is the gunship that the ARC troopers are in (although, for some reason, when it is shown crashing later in that same battle it's just a regular gunship instead of the command variant it was when it flew off towards the city).
Great video of all the various Gunships. I personally only own two of these Gunships. Those being the original release AOTC one and the Tiger Shark version which was a TRU exclusive. I remember being excited when I saw it for the first time in a store. I have the Arc Troopers that go with this Tiger Shark version.
Awesome video, thank you. I have the Walmart one, it's pretty fun, now planing on adding extras. You said in your video that you had a video on all the add-ons. Can you supply the link so I can watch it?

I got the shark gunship from the hunt 4 grievous, with all the arc clones but as u said, with out the bubbles, it looked naked so I got them and now it looks perfect eventhough in the animeted series never got the bubbles
Really hope you see this comment. I have the 2013 TRU exclusive version and was wondering if the 2009 "Crumb Bomber" version has the same body color. I have been debating buying a Crumb Bomber to use the larger closing side doors and the front drop down doors as well on the TVC versions. Do you know if, obviously aside from the fact that the rear doors would not close with the turrets on the TVC version, would the doors from the CB fit the TVC version? Thank you.
The body color on both versions is almost the same but not exactly the same (CB doors are slightly lighter) . If you are not picky it would probably be fine. If you want and exact match you would probably need to repaint the gunship and the doors. The Vintage Collection and Crumb Bomber are the only versions that have provisions for the front doors. The longer Crumb Bomber doors are a direct swap on to any of the other Gunships.
A few things: I wish Hasbro would release an updated variant with : (a) the great paint and weathering they have been with all of their TVC collection paint jobs (b) reworked front turrets: they don’t move all that well and would be impossible to actually use in the real world (c) better pilots (d) more individual nose art or a few sticker sheets for lots choices (e) doors like the crumb bomber.
I agree with CT-7171 Facebook marketplace is good you just have to wait for one to pop up. I would also suggest checking local comic book stores and flea markets if you have any.
Well since the official AT-TE Walker from The Clone Wars 2008 line is already huge and expensive on it’s own😱😱💀💀💀 if Hasbro ever did make the Republic Dropship version that could carry said Walker, it would have to be EVEN BIGGER than the AT-TE itself just so that it could carry the damn thing😳😳 and I bet at least a decent $20-30 bucks would be going towards the carrying mechanism alone! So long as you had a big enough 3d printer and understood how to edit the files, you could probably scale the model to whatever size you wanted. The Matel LAAT's aren't true to scale though, so a true 1:18 would have a wingspan around 3 feet.
