The fact that that Maserati was so much fun and character and you say you never went above 50mph is one of the reasons I like older cars. Any damn fool can jump into an M3, do some ridiculous speed on a motorway and get 6 weeks in jail. It is something else again to fettle a classic car, use it as intended and enjoy the mechanical experience. They are more than just cars.
"I don't think i exceeded 50 mph" Ivan you little rascal. My missus plays that little trick when she says the shopping only cost £50. Loves your videos. God bless you.
Ivan the noise from that car is absolutely gorgeous like an angels kiss how nice to listen to a gentleman with a lot of memories and. Brilliant mechanical knowledge
Always wanted cars like these growing up but quickly realize I’ll never be able to afford a chance to drive one let alone own one. So I decided to become an engineer so I can just make myself one, graduating this spring and excited to get started!
“I’ve had my haircut, 2 on the sides and 4 on the top. I wanted to keep it a bit longer” !! Absolutely classic Ivan . You sir are a Natural Treasure and I hope someone is documenting your incredible memories of a life well lived and enjoyed & one day will put those memories into print. I’m so pleased to see the channel return, fabulous content, wonderful sounds, with a bit of imagination I can almost smell the Maser’ as it winds its way along those backroads. Thanks to Josh for stepping up & bringing the channel to life again and look forward to more brilliant content.
Thank you so much for having us all along with you for the ride , keep the amazing videos coming , it's a real treat to hear more of your life, and thanks to Josh for filming editing and putting it out for all to enjoy
How do you remember all that detail in the stories Ivan? You really are the embodiment of a life well spent, with cars. Thanks for letting us in. Twin Webbers and an open exhaust 😍
I’m here after reading the book “The Little Red Racing Car” to my grandsons… Love the sounds and seeing and hearing the shifting of the gears. Thanks for sharing.
I was living near Monte Carlo in '95 and Brooks was having a Maserati auction. They had the Fangio 250 Nurburgring car and some others and they asked me to put my Ghibli in as a sort of filler. It was fun being around all these famous cars. The most interesting one there was a barn find sports racer with a V 12 motor. The owner had cobbled together some sort of remote control stuff so he could start the car and warm it up while having his coffee.
Love the stories about the various Maseratis. I have a bit of a soft spot on the older Grand Prix Maseratis, so naturally, the stories of not just one, but _two_ 8CMs, the ex-Earl Howe (3013) and ex-Whitney Straight (3011) cars, certainly picked my attention! The ex-Stan Jones and ex-Juan Manuel Fangio 250Fs were just the cherry on the top of the cake!
What a glorious sound that Maserati has. As for you Ivan, you are a top old school geezer 👍😁. They don’t make mechanics like you any more. Cheers from Tassie.
I really do enjoy your stories Ivan, you're a natural born story teller and your talents are endless. I've had numerous cars over the years that would look at home in the shed and still have a couple, one of them that would probably be better off there!..............keep it up mate.
Ivan, you’re ace!, make me smile from ear to ear. Josh, great work on the videography. Thanks for putting them out there and keep them coming. All the best.
Of course people are interested in what you have to say, you sir are a humble, witty, intelligent man who knows his stuff. Started watching a few videos back and really enjoy all aspect of what you show us. I was lucky to be brought up with a dad who had Aston Martins and Alfa's, i personally restored a V8 vantage, i had a bodyshop that did a lot of classic restorations, he had that was built by them as their show car for the earls court motor show in the 80's, it got broken into so went to Aston Martin for some repairs, they called me to say what a good job i did and could i let them have some of the paint we used as they couldn't match it, i used the same paint manufacturer as original and i think Spies Hecker if i remember right. That exhaust note reminded me of driving his Alfa 2600 spider, he has 3 of them and one he has had almost 50 years, triple twin carbs and a straight pipe is heaven! You remind me very much of a man who did the mechanics on my dad's Aston''s, i forget his name as i was a kid but loved watching him on visits to his workshop in Portsmouth, he taught me to 'toe and heel' around Goodwood in a DB4 when i was 14! An English man watching you from Portugal, Keep doing what your doing!
L.J.K. Setright wrote an amazing article about the musical character of the Six and Twelve cylinder engines, but I cannot for the life of me find a copy! I think it was initially about the Honda CBX 6 cylinder motorcycle, but as is his wont, he diverged upon multiple tangents!
Thanks for tacking us for a ride, Ivan your a star. Great sound, no wind noise just that rasping exhaust note. Some drone shots would be great if possible, but in car very good. Ivan looking very cool in sunglasses. This has all the makings of a great channel. Looking forward to next.
Love having you back Ivan. For lots of reasons. Glorious video on a glorious car with a glorious exhaust note. NOISE = unwanted sound. I think we all want more of those sounds. Don't we???
Gawd don't that Mazda sound sooooo beautiful? I could listen to that AND Ivan both at the same time for days let alone hours! Keep them coming SIR IVAN
Hi Ivan, the "other chap" you mentioned when talking about the (in)famous(!) Harrow flat was Jonathan Williams who was a works Ferrari driver in the 60,s We met him in the South of France in the late 90,s when he had taken to living in a motorhome with his partner Linda. She was selling mobile homes on the site where we stayed & we had just bought one from her so we ended up having a good social time.He was co writing a book entitled "A French Kiss With Death",all about Le Mans & the making of the Steve McQueen movie in which he drove one of the camera cars which was McQ ueen,s own Porsche 908.I have a copy of the book.I should also mention that we lived in Harrow from 1979-2007 about 5-10mins walk from the Pinner Road flat.I had a long chat with Dave Brody a while ago about this as he was one the occupants for a time. They would have bets on who could run naked down the garden before a train went past;the line ran along the bottom of the garden! Sorry about typo error above. Love the goings on at your farm & videos;Would love to look in one day if possible? All best PB
Doing a great job Josh... But could you leave the still pictures on screen a bit longer. There is so much to see in these pics, especially the technical workshop ones of projects past... Love listening to Ivan's mechanical knowhow & automotive wisdom... Who needs a Stig, when you have got an Ivan..!
Brilliant stuff. I'm looking forward to the Maser's track day session! I really like the simple interior and dash design. What a lovely exhaust note, the bark on the gea-rchange and overrun....
Thank you for another wonderful video. Not sure at all where the 2 cylinder A-series would be best, might be nice in a small boat to potter around in. Maserati sounds great, you were clever than you thought you were....
Cracking video and car sir! Pity about the condition of the roads in your area though. You need to get that Maserati up here to the Shetland isles where there are some "proper roads" to drive her on!
Lol, the Maserati V8 engines in the 450s, Khamsin , Mexico etc are basically 2 of their GP 4 cylinders like in the birdcage etc - joined together. same valve covers and all .. and they were still selling the same engine in roadcars almost 25 years after they came out in 57 or whenever
Ivan - fancy building a Triumph straight six powered TVR? A late Sixties style Vixen 2.5 That could be made to sound pretty neat couldn't it and they seem to look even better with time.
Ivan, first I am impressed that you at your age still be able to drive a car (I mean not afraid) And you seem to have a very good time while you are driving! And I did as well watching your video!! Thank you Ivan, for the video. Keep on doing what you are doing. Greetings from Leon from the Netherlands.
Oh wow! I found you again! What happened to Ivan Shed? I have been searching for months.... but never mind, glad you're back - and now i have some catching up do do.
Yet another entertaining and informative video. In your older videos, as the camera followed you around your workshop, we viewers were given tantalizing glances of many and various interesting vehilcles, two of which, I'm certain, were an Austin A30/35, and a frog eye sprite. Is there a chance we may look at those please? Best wishes from a fellow Greenfordian.
Who else could watch him all day and night?
Thumbs up....
That exhaust note is heavenly, thanks for showing us the ride, best car channel on RUclips in my opinion.
Glad you enjoy it! Thank you

If you believe that......
AHHAAAA
Definitely
Classic old car, driven by a classic old bloke. Makes the heart sing...

Absolutely perfect Ivan. Just keep doing what you are doing.
Ivan, you are the man!. Driving a 300s and talking about the birds in the trees eating red currants. 👍😊
How do you remember all that detail in the stories Ivan? You really are the embodiment of a life well spent, with cars.
Thanks for letting us in. Twin Webbers and an open exhaust 😍
twin webers? More like triple
I like Shed Racing. Love what your doing! Good luck!😎
Love it Weber's and a straight through exhaust with the Maserati sunglasses too so Cool.
I’m here after reading the book “The Little Red Racing Car” to my grandsons…
Love the sounds and seeing and hearing the shifting of the gears.
Thanks for sharing.
Ivan, you leave with the biggest smile, thank you, and the 300S is an absolute gem
Thanks for taking us along for a ride!

This oldtimer packs a real punch. And so does the car.
When i get older i want to be just like ivan !!!
"Nothing beats an open exhaust" True!!
Thanks Ivan, your videos and stories give added enthusiasm for us all to get back in the shed and to get on with the job.
What a glorious sound that Maserati has. As for you Ivan, you are a top old school geezer 👍😁. They don’t make mechanics like you any more. Cheers from Tassie.
just a wonderful gentleman driving wonderful cars, great stuff
Brilliant as ever, love the sound of that 300s, real classic.
I really do enjoy your stories Ivan, you're a natural born story teller and your talents are endless. I've had numerous cars over the years that would look at home in the shed and still have a couple, one of them that would probably be better off there!..............keep it up mate.
I worked at Piper FM briefly in the 1980s, when they were based in Ashford, Kent.
My Mate Paul had Piper Cams in his T140V bonneville 750, was all top end power, and went very well, this was late 70,s
Fantastic, great to see Ivan driving those beautiful cars and very good filming.
I like when you said you have not a bucket list ,Ivan you are the bucket.
Really like the camera angle from the passenger point-of-view. Great edit - nice and relaxed. Thank you!
You absolute hooligan Ivan!
Keep it up!
I dont think I have more eagerly awaited new episodes on a channel like this one for a long time! Now I want a damn pre war car lol
What a great car, looks like you had a blast driving it.
What a noise, and the car too !
Thanks Ivan for the film, brilliant noise
Bleedin heck that's the sound of angels singing.
What a beauty Ivan thanks for the video.
What a treat for the viewers. Great video Ivan thanks for letting us join you. When you put the sun glasses on you went from cool to super cool ! 😄😄
So much better than tv car programmes which are contrived and over edited.
Ivan, you’re ace!, make me smile from ear to ear. Josh, great work on the videography. Thanks for putting them out there and keep them coming. All the best.

GREAT shed Racing content very interesting, keep it up and looking forward for future projects ,GOOD LUCK.
That Mazzi, it sounds so angry!
Love it.
Ivan pounding down the road, banging through the gears is what makes his content sooo good.
Cheers,

You could always stop the player ;-)
@@larsbr4519 On tablets it grays out with a big play arrow and move buttons, so you can’t see detail.
@@blacksquirrel4008 That's the reason i don't use tablets :-)
Hay mate, haven,t watched the vid yet but i,m bloody going to.
Thanks.
You are the Don Preston of automotive. Love you and all your cars.
Sounds fantastic!
What a wonderful exhaust note!
Brilliant stuff. I'm looking forward to the Maser's track day session!
I really like the simple interior and dash design. What a lovely exhaust note, the bark on the gea-rchange and overrun....
Absolutely the best car video I’ve ever seen. This channel is golden.
Glad you are back! I could watch this for days!
A recording of the standing start would make a great ringtone.
Nice one Ivan👍
Wow what a great car and what a nice chap .I enjoyed watching you enjoy that car and what a sound .

Haircut looks like a professional job. Great channel
Ivan Quote of the day" i didnt know i was that clever"👌
Thanks for another great video, how about a shed racing decal for my Mini!
Thank you for another wonderful video. Not sure at all where the 2 cylinder A-series would be best, might be nice in a small boat to potter around in. Maserati sounds great, you were clever than you thought you were....

Keep it up. This is all such great content.

Holly cow, that was cool as hell.
Oh wow! I found you again! What happened to Ivan Shed? I have been searching for months.... but never mind, glad you're back - and now i have some catching up do do.
Awesome Thanks for sharing,
Love the videos, keep them coming 👍
Nice old car, unlike anything modern, exhaust note reminds me of a tuned up XK Jag.
Maybe double declutching might help the awkward gear changes??
Yet another entertaining and informative video.
