Please meet our latest brindle Labrador Guide Dog puppy, Charlee!
As a brindle pup, Charlee has unique tan markings on her black fur which is very uncommon in our colony of typically yellow or black Labradors.
We don't breed for colour here at Guide Dogs, so how did Charlee get these special markings?

Wonderful to see a gorgeous brindle Lab being trained as a guide dog. As you explained, brindle is a natural Labrador colour. I have bred a few brindles and kept my last one as they are so pretty. She has such a gentle temperament and is always eager to learn. I do hope that your Charlie made the grade. Thanks for your great work, Alison Hood

Brindle is a natural colour for pedigree Labradors. It only appears when both parents have a couple of rare genes.
