well, if you prefer circule skirts over gathered ones its okay: everyone has different línea. but what you said was not correct. gathered skirts have better ratio in you buy you wear área than circle skirts. after all you have to inscrit a circle inside a square and not use the corners while gathered ones are just rectangles.

Hello Yumi King, the measurement for the top is wrong; It should be 15 instead of 30, unless it is 60 around the whole waist XD. I still think it is amazing and I am making it right now. Keep up the great work!

Not everyone can pull off immense amounts of ruffles and bows, school girl uniforms, dresses with lots of lace, slim dresses, flowy dresses, dresses with petticoats, babydoll look, short and long dresses, thigh socks and some shoes, etc. but she pulls off and suits them all really well 😊

This skirt isn't Lolita, despite it being very cute. You've been sewing for a while and you do a lot of videos on Lolita inspired clothing, so I'm surprised you haven't taken the time to research the Lolita guidelines and basic rules of the fashion before making more "Lolita" videos. hi Yumi, my daughter lives this and wanted me to make it. she is the same size as you so following your tutorial you have 2, 7.5 by 30in wastband so when sewing the two together that gives a total of 60 which is way to long for the skirt part. so I'm guessing that the measurements for the waste would be 7.5 by 15. thank you
could you do this with a pleated skirt? I would like to make a hetalia school uniform and this is the perfect tutorial, but the skirt is pleated. any advice???

Wouldn't it just be easier to sew both skirt rectangles together first then gather them in one go? Or would it cause trouble doing it that way? Is there a reason as to why you did them in two separate parts?
