Better check your control linkages. I’m guessing that they’re way out of spec because lever down all the way or not - you are not getting near full rack movement on this machine. I have two D7Ds with basically the same motor and have operated a D7E so believe me when I tell you there’s a lot more rpms left in this machine.
I drove a 7E back in the early 70's. They always put in a good days work.

The old girl must have a bad head gasket. Looks like she’s been spitting oily water out the radiator cap and vent

Why were you lugging it? Full throttle and 1st gear would push a full blade and not hurt the engine

@@localcrew it does sound slow and it might have plugged fuel filters the way it was slowing down
