tried it and pro version on a USTA conference test with many other racquets, and loved it much more than a blade. Very nice blend of feel, control, maneuverability, and power. I wouldn't switch to it only because of a launch angle. I want it to be higher like on my beloved PA98. Still, it is best in the Wilson line for my game. Also, Pro version is much more stable.
Yeah the racquet can be pretty stiff. Wilson was saying that the racquet tends to feel a bit easier on the arm, despite the stiffness, by having a more western/semi-western grip and swing-path.
Yeah that's true. You feel less you hit very vertically but there are still many times you need to drive the ball or hit flat eg serves. Interestingly the W labs version is slightly more comfortable than the retail version.
That is interesting about the W labs version. I never got to hit with that one so I will take your word for it. I think that Wilson knew what they were trying to accomplish with the new racquet and were very close but were off just enough to where the racquet never really become as popular as they thought it would be.
Loved the shift 99! Ended up switching to the 99 pro for the control, but I loved hitting kick serves with the 99, the amount of spin I got was crazy
Definitely! The Shift definitely is an extremely spin friendly frame and a good way to replace the Burn line in my opinion

That's awesome that you got to test it at a USTA conference! How did you get invited to that?
@@brodytaylor2020 haha it’s not that hard if it happens in the tennis club you play daily.
Fair enough. Sounds like you belong to a great club!
I have a customised 300. Love it. Only downside is that's its pretty stiff
