    Please mention that belt MUST be in front of buckle strap and under pad (1st or 2nd buckle slot MUST be used for the rear facing) according to the manual. Thank you.

    Which method do you recommend more? Latch or Seatbelt method? When I tried to install the baby seat via latch method on my vehicle, it looks like I am only able to go to level 2. Is it safe to use level 2 for infants or should I try the seatbelt method? Thanks

    • @TheBabyCubby
      @TheBabyCubby  3 года назад

      Great questions! With a convertible car seat, we always recommend installing with the car seat belt instead of the latch system. The latch system has a 60 lb weight limit that is the child's weight PLUS the weight of the car seat. With the car seat belt, you never have to worry about that! If you child is younger than 6 months, we would keep them on the 3rd recline. Once they hit 6 months, they have better head and neck control and moving them to recline 2 is ok! Please let us know if you have any other questions!

    At what age or weight do the infant pillows/supports need to come out of the carseat? Our infant carseat indicated that their was a weight limit but I didn't see anything about size and safety for the maxi cosi supports in the pria carseat. My child is still rear facing.

      Hello! The manual states: The soft infant-positioning wedge
      MUST be used for infants who weigh 5-11 lb (2.3-4.9 kg). You MUST remove the soft infant positioning wedge for children who weigh 15 lb (6.8 kg) or more.

    Hi! Awesome video. I followed all the directions, but even so, my car seat is so wobbly and I can’t tighten it any further (latch strap that you said to pull up. It’s def moving more than it should be. I also attached the tether strap and i can’t tihten that either. Help!

    • @TheBabyCubby
      @TheBabyCubby  5 лет назад

      Hi Andrea! Did you put your weight on the car seat as you were tightening the strap? Were you pulling the strap in the direction of the webbing? If you pull out or a different direction, it is near impossible to get it to tighten properly. You can also try installing with the car seat belt and using the lock off build into the car seat belt for better installation. Please let us know if you need more help!

    Hi there! Trying to install in an SUV and I find the base overlaps my latch connection points. It doesn't move when I tighten it after that, but makes the latch buckles flare out oddly. Is that safe? I'm also just short of parallel no matter I do. It seems like this is far more difficult than it should be and I've been installing seats for 15 years!

  • @taylorlacy3566
    @taylorlacy3566 4 года назад

    If installing for rear facing, the instructions say it is okay to move to position 2 if they can sit assisted ( baby is 13 months and 22 lbs). If it is in position 2 does your level line need to be level with ground while in position 2?? Or do you level the car seat in position 3 and then move up to position 2?

    • @TheBabyCubby
      @TheBabyCubby  4 года назад

      Great question! The level line should always be parallel with the ground regardless of which recline setting you are going to use. So you will need to make sure the level line is still parallel when in recline position 2. I hope that makes sense! Let us know if you have any other questions.

    • @taylorlacy3566

      The Baby Cubby so with it sitting in my seat in my car in position 2 it is pretty far from the level line being level with the ground. How are you suppose to make it level ?

    are we supposed to use the latch and seatbelt system together? Or is one method enough?

    • @TheNewBradshawTV
      @TheNewBradshawTV 6 лет назад

      christina marquez One is enough. But you can only use Latch rear facing and up to 40lbs if I’m not mistaken. If you decide to forward face you have to use seatbelt and tether.

    • @TheBabyCubby
      @TheBabyCubby  6 лет назад +1

      Christina is correct. You can only use one installation method at a time. You can install the seat with the LATCH forward facing but only if the combined weight of your child and the seat is less than 65 lbs. We would highly recommend you keep your child rear facing as long as they can so you will most likely exceed the LATCH weight limit by the time you turn forward facing. Let us know if you have more questions.

    Does the car seat always have to be in the the middle seat or can it be on the end by the door ?

    • @TheBabyCubby
      @TheBabyCubby  5 лет назад

      Sarai Garza It really just depends upon the space that is behind the passenger seat. If your baby is still rear facing, there will be a recline that may hinder it from being able to fit on the side. We find that the middle seat is the safest and gives your baby the most space as possible, especially if they are forward facing, it gives extra leg room. It really just depends on the size of your car and what works best for your baby and keeps them the safest.

    Is there a way to adjust the crotch buckle

  • @vigneshb5347
    @vigneshb5347 7 лет назад

    Have a question about leg space when in rear facing. If the kid is 2yr 6mon (about 3 feet tall) and sits in rear facing configuration (I know, in US a chile at this age can sit forward facing), will the child have enough leg space ?

    • @TheBabyCubby
      @TheBabyCubby  7 лет назад

      The leg space actually doesn't really matter. They will find a comfortable position. It's more about weight, and where their head hits at the top of the car seat. For this car seat you can keep them rear facing until 40 lbs or until their head is one inch below the top of the head rest at it's highest setting. You must turn them around when they surpass either the height or weight limit whichever comes first.

    I have a max-cosi 85 and use it RF with my 16 mo. old ... I'm not sure where the head part should be adjusted to? should it be at head level or do I pull it up a little bit higher?

    • @TheBabyCubby
      @TheBabyCubby  7 лет назад +1

      Because the headrest is integrated with the harness, its more important to make sure the harness is right at or within an inch below their shoulders. Another rule of thumb is you want the top of the head rest at least one inch above their head.

    Are these installations meant to be done on either behind passenger and driver side only?
    I can not get it installed on the middle part of the rear seat.

    • @TheBabyCubby
      @TheBabyCubby  7 лет назад

      Not necessarily. It should usually install the same in your center seat if your car has a full center seat. Usually in the center you are not able to use the LATCH anchors, which can affect installation, and they usually have a little hump on them which can make it difficult as well. I have this carseat and they really seem to be made more for vans and suvs. It's almost impossible for me to use the number 3 rear facing position because it bumps into my front seats. I drive a Saturn Ion sedan and it's a very tight fit. Doesn't help that I have long legs and can't spare much room. Great carseat but not for cars.

    Hi! We just installed this car seat and the side-to-side movement is minimal, definitely less than 1". However, the back of the seat (up against the front passenger seat) can easily be lifted a few inches. The LATCH system is installed very tight, so that's not our issue. Any suggestions?

    • @TheBabyCubby

      Our guess is possibly the latches are not installed through the correct belt paths? We would have to see the installation to know for sure. One of our CPS techs will be in tomorrow. • @murphpot24
      @murphpot24 6 лет назад

      Christina T I was able to fix it a LOT this way:
      I positioned myself behind the back of the car seat (kind of hunching over it) and wiggled it side to side while pulling tightly at the strap and pushing against the back of the seat with the weight of my body. This helped tightening the seat more securely rather than just pushing down on it. I hope this helps! 😉

  • @Em-dw1kw
    @Em-dw1kw 5 лет назад

    If I wiggle the seat near the bottom it doesn’t move more than an inch but if I shake it near the top it moves quite a bit. I can’t physically pull the latch any tighter... not sure how I can fix this.

    • @TheBabyCubby
      @TheBabyCubby  6 лет назад

      Hi Sydne, Im sorry you are having difficulty with tightening your harness. Our first guess would be to look at the connectors on the back of the seat to make sure it is not getting caught on anything. If you don't see anything it is getting caught on and are still having an issue we highly recommend you calling Maxi Cosi customer service to help you troubleshoot the problem, it may have a malfunction.

    My seat isn't level in positions 3 or 2. What do I do?! Is it safe to use a rolled towel underneath?

    • @TheBabyCubby
      @TheBabyCubby  7 лет назад

      You shouldn't ever use towels or blankets. It should be something very compact and not slippery.
      You can use a pool noodle. You would cut a section out of that and tuck that up in the front portion of the seat. They have found that it is about the same consistency as the car seat and is approved to use to get the right level.
      If you need even more, you can actually take two or three of the sections, tape them together and use that as your level.
