It's incredible how Batman's best and defining work all came from Dennis O'Neil (both as a writer and an editor).
Batman from the 70's till the first years of the 2000's (with the effects of O'Neil's editing) is the best Batman ever.
Morrison, Snyder and especially King's run are WAY overrated

Great video! I hope that you'll give the same treatment to Superman. Please include some lesser known runs in your Superman's top 10.

It's strange that people on Goodreads often say that the writing of Batman in the 1990s is very bad
Even writers like Brubaker and Craig Rucka say they are bad, since you mentioned that their run is concerned with a lot of investigation. Is it a real investigation with a good mystery? The opposite of the long Halloween story? (Because I think it's kinda bad even though things are good like Origin to TWO Face)

Oh, Rucka and Brubaker’s runs are terrific. It’s not superheroes playing detective. It’s detective stories that just happen to be in a superhero setting. Their best series is not in this video because Batman is not at its center, but I can’t recommend Gotham Central - about the Gotham Police - strongly enough.

I should add that this is a Brubaker at the start of his career, and not as good as he would soon become. Still, it’s very much worth the read.

@@comicbelief I was looking for Batman stories that involved a real investigation because I struggled with stories like Hash and The Long Halloween. Jeph Loeb’s writing of investigation and mystery is very bad, even in his Red Hulk story.
So I'll probably try Ed Brubaker,Greg Rucka run. and the story you recommended, hoping to find something really interesting.
What do you think of Chuck Dixon writing Batman? And what do you think of his Green Arrow run?

@@comicbelief Well this is an interesting thing to try

@@jojojotaru1167 I’m not the biggest Chuck Dixon fan. I think he did better with Robin and Nightwing than with Batman. He also has some good Conan stories, but that’s about it. You should check out Brubaker’s proper crime comics, like Criminal, Fade Out, Fatale… Also Frank Miller’s Sin City is a must. Rucka pends more to the spy thriller.
