The period that starts with Knightfall, going to Cataclysm, then No Man's Land and finishing in the early 2000 with Bruce Wayne: Fugitive, and not only Batman and Detective Comics, but including Robin, Catwoman, Batgirl, NightWing, Azrael, and even Bird of Prey and Green Arrow (Connor Hawke) has to be my favorite Batman era.
The most fun I ever had reading comics was when Morrison’s Batman 700-702, the last arc of Batman and Robin, and The Return of Bruce Wayne were all coming out at the same time.
And his Doom Patrol. And JLA. And his complete retcon of Animal Man. And that's just his licensed characters. Invisibles is epic. Seven Soldiers. WE3.The Filth. The Authority. Even Zenith and Big Dave.
Irving Ramirez I’m only on the 5th volume. I’ve heard his run gets shitty later on, but I haven’t read a volume (from his run) that I didn’t enjoy. Night of the Monster Men was uninteresting; never finished it.
My personal favorite is the Snyder/Capullo run. It was short compared to some, but it created the best new villain, The Court of Owls, in a long time. I do love the Morrison run though.
Scott Snyder had a very good run. I loved Endgame and I'm happy that they(Scott and Greg) are getting to write their version of final Batman adventure.
This was a great run, I get why it had it's critics but overall I think it was great work. It wasn't just putting Batman in a story with a great plot but also great character work so much was explored personal which can be hard to do in comics. Also it was great having a cow in the cave 😃 And legends of the dark knight was a great series, extremely underrated.
Bang, you’re dead on right. Morrison’s run is not only the best Batman but it might just be the best superhero run. It’s not only rereadanle, but it actually gets better upon rereads. Morrison is a complicated writer and so you have to do some work to fully get what’s going on, not only on the main text but subtext too. It’s like Grant Morrison was born to write Batman.
We got damien wayne, professor pyg,the flamingo, simon hurt, batman inc.,2 scallop gauntlets, that ill batmobile that can fly but still is limited by it's advantages
Honestly it seems a lot of people haven’t read Alan Grant’s Batman run or they would see he is the premier Batman writer. He understood the mood and the mythos. Morrison’s run was good and I love how he incorporated the forgotten silver age material and created new villains but his dialogue/story telling is sooooo tryhard pretentious “Tarantinoesque”.
ok ill let u say Grant had a epic run but Scott Snyder has given us The Court of Owls, Death of the Family, Endgame, Dark Knights Metal, and the great The Batman Who Laughs... Snyder has treated Batman like a musical instrument and hes not done
Hate damian Wayne. He showed up and dc just put tim drake on the shelf. He's a good enough character to have his own comic the way red hood and nightwing do

The era I grew up on. Classic stuff in here. Right after Bruce Wayne murder and fugitive is another all time classic: “hush”
Totally agree, Grant Morrison for the Win....Also, The Flamingo is a BADASS
Morrison, Snyder, Loeb, and Dixon are my favorite writers for Batman
I never read more batbooks, or comics, than I did from this time period. Best Bat Era EVER!
Reversing the dynamic duo's...er...dynamic (a broody Robin and a brighter Batman) was a brilliang move. I enjoyed it very much while it lasted. :)
Everyone should check out Batman #700 for a single-issue story emblematic of Morrison's run. "What can we beat but never defeat?"
The most fun I ever had reading comics was when Morrison’s Batman 700-702, the last arc of Batman and Robin, and The Return of Bruce Wayne were all coming out at the same time.
Batman and Robin by Grant Morrison was the last comic book series I bought, and it was great fun. I'll pick up the Absolute edition soon.
Morrison is responsible for both one of the greatest Batman era's and X Men eras and his All Star Superman is amazing
And his Doom Patrol. And JLA. And his complete retcon of Animal Man. And that's just his licensed characters. Invisibles is epic. Seven Soldiers. WE3.The Filth. The Authority. Even Zenith and Big Dave.
"The Best Batman Era Is One You'd Never Suspect" well, it's exactly what I expected.
Snyder run is my fav personally
When it comes to King's run, I don't think DC were so much afraid of change as they were just afraid of Batman being outsold by The Hulk lol.
Is that why Batman had a crossover with the Hulk? X_x
Grant Morrison’s run is legendary
Grant Morrison is legendary.
I like the Incorporated ending, but that editorial decision for the symbol to be taken away.
At least the ending actually was felt in other books
Started reading Rebirths run; it’s fucking awesome (so far)
Ew Tom kings run?

I wouldn't say it gets shittier but it just seems to start taking a few more issues to get to the point later on

I loved Batman Incorporated: DC really dropped the ball on that one.
I couldn't agree with you more. I recently grabbed Morrisons Batman & Robin and thought it was a great run.
Anyone else thinks Scott snyder had the best batman run?
Everything Batman was in the New 52 was perfect in my opinion whether it was Batman Eternal, Superheavy, or the Court of Owls everything was so good
How was Morrison run brief it lasted from 2006-2013
Morrison's was so good! Revisiting it tight now 👍
Grant and Breyfogle best run ever
Grant/Breyfogle is GOAT. It’s obvious many of todays readers have not read it or they would know.
Comicsexplained FEARS the Grant Morrison run
Explain, please. (Ironic question 🤣)

The Black Mirror made me realize something Batman. It’s incredibly EASY to figure out his identity.

I thought Joker was naked in the thumbnail
I wish
I see Grant Morrison, I click.
Liam Khan I see Grant Morrison and I take aspirin
Where should I begin if I want to start reading Morrison's Batman??
Batman and son.
@@U.C.1180 nah start with his run on main Batman title then go to Batman and son then go to Batman incorporated

I enjoyed Mr. Morrison's run on the Caped Crusader, and it was the most entertaining run on the character in years...
Sounds interesting...I like Damian Wayne & his character growth.
Morrison Batman is soooo good
Doesn't matter, nobody's gonna see our comments after some hours
I swear if they say Tom King's run I'm unsubbing immediately
EDIT: Alright, y'all still got your credibility
Yeah same.
1:25 “brief”? It lasted for like 7 years
I’m not up to date with Tom kings run, but I had heard he was being let go. Does anyone know why?
I agree totally
YOU BETTER TELL JULES I SAID HELLO!!!!
It’s also Tom Holland’s birthday
Excelsior!! Happy Birthday, TH!
Im late but happy birthday tony stark junior!
ok ill let u say Grant had a epic run but Scott Snyder has given us The Court of Owls, Death of the Family, Endgame, Dark Knights Metal, and the great The Batman Who Laughs... Snyder has treated Batman like a musical instrument and hes not done
He’s almost done haha
It’s Scott Snyder’s run don’t tell me otherwise
Snyder’s and Morrison’s are definitely top 2, which is funny considering they were the most recent.
I've always wondered if Batman ever killed
Naaaah! The best Batman Era is the one from BATMETAL!
If you wanna get into batman it can take alot of reading.
Hate damian Wayne. He showed up and dc just put tim drake on the shelf. He's a good enough character to have his own comic the way red hood and nightwing do
True.
Grant Morrison's Batman is the best comic Batman.
Sry, but capello and Snyder refined everything Morrison tried to archive.
How so? In any way?
HulK TopF not to mention we got the best Joker stories
Uh what? I love Snyder and capullo’s run but it’s nothing like morrison’s
Heck Yeah
snyder for me
Brief? Six years is Brief????
I seriously dislike the Tom King line
10:27
Grant Morrisons run was God awful
Nah dude it was the best one, it’s just different
The best?! Nah way to weird.
THE REAL FUCKING FIRST and nice vid
I’m ok with the stories they give Batman just don’t make Batman gay
I hated Ganrt Morrison's take on Batman, IMHO Morrison is extremely overrated
That’s ok. You can’t spell so all your credibility went down the drain
@@U.C.1180 Argumentum ad hominem. You must be so proud of yourself
I know Morrison is a bit harder to read for the lighter of mind but I mean you can’t even spell so I can see how you had a tough time with it.
