I actually prefer Superboy's original costume. The leather jacket and sunglasses were fire.
The best superhero redesign goes to Batman finally allowing Robin to wear a pants
90s Aquaman is just almost perfect, the hook was bit too much, but yeah still worked pretty well
I say it’s not enough, why stop at just a hook? Throw in an eye patch and a peg leg and now we are in business.
I mean, Daredevils' original look kind of fit, because only a blind man would choose that color sequence...
No Winter Soldier? That's literally one of the biggest redesigns in comic book history.
I forgot about that. Bucky, Nomad, then Winter Soldier.
*Fun fact:* Speaking of Blue Beetle's inspiration for Nite Owl, Grant Morrison's Multiversity comics shows us a reality called Earth 4, in which the heroes are a mix between Charlton Comics and Watchmen characters, with Blue Beetle having a role basically identical to that of Nite Owl, especially his relationship with the Question (Rorschach)
0:24 I like the black T-shirt and jeans look because of a McDonald’s Happy Meal commercial for the Young Justice TV show back in 2010 (that I didn’t watch) and that it shows Conner Kent gaining character growth, character development, and maturity. Plus, it makes him look like he’s in his early-to-mid twenties (in my headcanon during the 2000s) instead of looking like he’s in his teens.
Should have mentioned Daredevil's second costume change, also into black
I think a more minor but successful redesign is wonder woman’s. Her costume now looks more like armor than just a strapless top and a blue skirt. I’m not sure if she’s had a similar look in her earlier iterations, but it has stuck around better compared to the reversions Superman and Batman seem to have gotten with their outside underwear.
I think tbh aqua man did work but not in the way we think. It expanded his lore tbh so much that it made us understand why he’s a founding member of the justice league. He’s a pillar in the dc universe like the other 7 bc he represented a aspect of the universe in the sense of the Element of water.
You know who had an overlapping pair of Ds before Daredevil?
You know who.
I wonder if they’ll make either a sequel vid to this or one about supervillain redesigns that worked.
I think whatculture has completed their collection of Adam infinity stones
The Red Tornado had a great redesign. Black Canary made it for Tornado and gave it to him at Christmas
What about Green Arrow's redesign in 1969 from The Brave and the Bold #85? I'm a big Green Arrow fan and I was hoping he would be on the list.
Even though they're not the same character, the various Sandman who have appeared in DC all have unique looks.
At lot of the redesigns from the '90s that weren't liked just were dawn wrong. AzBats and Iron Cap were laughed at but now they're drawn more bulky like armor than spandex so they work.
6:49, how funny is it that they had AQUAMAN lose his hands ro piranhas? 😂 like, of all choices the writers pick that one?
He had lost his ability to command sea life at the moment.
The 90´s Version of Aquaman is my favourite Version. Also is the Original Superboy Costume my favourite. And when it comes to Blue Beetle: Ted Kord.
I actually like Superboy’s original costume
Yeah me too. I wish they’d at least let him keep the leather jacket
@@Jose-uy5qc He's wearing the original outfit again (or at least a very similar one) in the current run.
The front page of Tony's first comic. He lives he walks he conquers hahaha a little tyrannic.
GREAT VIDEO WHAT CULTURE COMICS 👏👏👏👏👏👏😉
I’d go further with your number one and way all redesigned costumes for the original x-men all worked.
Wait wait wait, how did Aquaman lose his hand to Piranha?
It was eaten. How else would it happen?
I feel dear devils original outfit was great due to being blind and not knowing what he wore. The red suit is great though. I'd like to see an MCU movie where the hero's have their original outfits
Kon-El’s costumes have really run the gamut
Great video!! 😆😆
Did just finish the Joker/Harley criminal sanity, not sure if i actully liked it, strange take on the Joker
i strong disagree with the superbyo redesign opinion, while i love hte young justice TV series look of Conner, the jacket over suit is still a really great look for any super hero
I love how Guy Gardner went from being a boring Hal Jordan 2.0. to the most based alpha male in the 80s. Glad to see the first Crisis did something right
Warren Worthington III from Angel to Archangel
Great list, I just missed Superman's black costume
Punk Storm was a cool redesign even if she had no powers at the time.
I like the Batman Beyond suit as a redesign
Static changed his costume for one more faithful to the tv series, but I don't know if it was in the 90's.
Daredevils first design looks like etrigan, wonder if they changed it because of that
3:55 Daredevils original costume was later "recycled" when the superwrestler and friend of Steve Rogers, D-Man (or Demolition-Man) got the same costume. His motivation to do so was to kind of honor Daredevil. Matt, of course, didn't give a shit about it.
EDIT: you forgot about one redesign that most people can't even remember, because it is *sooo* long ago. Marvel's The Vision. Being introduced to the audience aaallll the way back in Marvel Mystery Comics (November 1940), the interdimensional traveler Vision pretty much already looked like the nowadays Vision, but with some differences. When Marvel Comics was a publisher, and not a comic book series anymore, they brought him back as the Vision we all know nowadays, changing some colors and designs of the gloves.
Shazam and the Shazam family
Superboy with a jacket and shades was trendy, now dated. Johnny Storm who can generate fire and heat wearing a jacket made no sense at all. But the guy who got it right was Animal Man. He just was a guy in a super-hero costume who happened to put on a jacket the same way anyone would.
Disagree hard about Superboy, and this is actually the first time I've ever heard of someone preferring the jeans and t-shirt look over the leather jacket look. The jeans and t-shirt looks SO basic and the complete opposite of heroic. Probably why they brought back the look with the leather jacket, which is what he's wearing right now.
Everything else mostly on point, though I hate Aquaman's harpoon hand.
10:48 Is that woman Elektra dressed as female Daredevil?
People praise Spiderpunk's costume yet trash on Superboy's 90s fit. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Maybe im just watching the marvel movies while hearing of the dc comics but does it seem like marvel just has people create their powers through science experiements while dc gets as weird and creative as it wants?
No image comics characters?
How is the lion-like beast not feline?
The 1960s Filmation Aquaman was 10 times better than the 1970s-1980s Hanna-Barbera AQUAMAN.
4:48
I hate how Nite Owl, despite being one of the few surviving protagonists, was completely omitted in the HBO Watchmen show, being reduced to just a couple of mentions. That's one of the many reasons why that product was absolute sh*t
How does wolverine costume change to the blue and yellow suit not make the list?
Superboy's redesign isn't a costume, its just a t-shirt and jeans. Its from a period when he was trying to distance himself from being a superhero. His first costume, and his new one are much better.
Wolverine's yellow and brown was always superior to the blue and yellow. I'm sorry, but that's a ridiculous colour scheme for Wolverine, always was, always will be.
And the fact that the Tim Drake Robin costume isn't on this list is a travesty!
Snyder & Wan made Aquaman cool. Gunn & WB ruined him again
Did you know that a black son helped his mother buy his own father and when his dad tried to discipline him the son legit sold his dad back into slavery I don't remember where I read it but I do remember it
That's racist BS and it has nothing to do with this video
What does that have to do with character redesigns, though?
Wrong video???
Casually Comics did better to explain these redesigns. Mainly because Sasha dedicated full videos to each one. Also, she uses funny voices and makes actual comic dialogue into memes.
No. The Superboy redesign is the shittiest, laziest costume change ever.
Listen lad, Jaime is pronounced Hi-May, it’s literally James in Spanish
¿México? Hollywood RUclips Trump's Cartoon auschwitz birkenau Titanic Daniel Malpica memes Mark Zuckerberg ojos dineros pesos
Aquaman still sucks
Making a blind joke isnt ok. Do better
Well late to the show .But I would put Hal Jordan Green Lantern outfit on the list ,As well Green Arrow as well .But reading right now ,I am reading the first six of classic Spawn ,And Batman Court of Owl's , Plus Spider-Man Maximum Carnage paperback .And the Death of Superman .Cause Superman is cool and underrated at times ,But I read the story in paperback in the day .Then decided to the modern reprint of the Death of Superman .So how come you never do Star Trek or Star Wars in comics ?
