What he fails to understand (among a great many other things) is that if he does fall and gets stuck on that slope so poor guy in the rescue services has to come and get him and risk their own life for his poor, selfish choices..
No doubt, I have some video of people walking on the still smoking/gassing lava crust a few weeks ago. I do think this guy was in more immediate danger of death than those people though.
@@BayAreaDashCameraif you truly think that, then you're naive. Walking across lava that's just recently become solidified is basically suicidal. Once you touch that lava, you're done. Especially if you were to have fallen in. Some areas of the freshly solidified lava flows are literally paper thin. You can't tell which spot is safe to step on at all.
Don`t really see the need to tell him how stupid this was. That is being disrespectful to someone you have never met before and trying to make him look like a fool. Implying someone is an idiot may come across as a personal insult to some. In fact you didn`t have to approach this guy in the first place, let him go about his business and if it results in his death, there will be one less in the genepool.
Not only are they endangering themselves, the landscpae in Iceland is very fragile. No one, but absolutely no one has the right to go beyond safety barriers/ropes/fences without specific approval from the authorities.
I would not have done if for sure but we should stop playing mommy for everyone. As long as he just endanger himself that's fine with me. However I have a real problem with this sentence "people who would watch him fall to his death, the rescuers that would need to retrieve his body, and his family and friends". Taken seriously it would prohibit any slightly dangerous activity with potential for a fatal outcome.
My main problem is him leaving the path there, because of the damage it does to nature. If he wants to die so bet it, his choice. But please dont soil nature in the process.
It really depends on his skill level. There is a fair chance he is an experienced climber / mountaineer in which case this is likely well within his comfort zone and not difficult terrain at all. It sounds maybe like a Cumbrian accent (Lake District in the UK) so a good chance he's grown up very close to the mountains and knows his stuff.
Sure, then next idiot sees him doing it and goes there and falls. Do dumb stuff in remote places (no rescue staff put in danger) not in a tourist spot.

Plus they have to fill in some forms and write a report. No one likes to do this.
Ok RUclips, Karen.. I bet everyone that's unfortunate enough to know you wishes you had a father. Grow up, boy.@@telekommandant
Well, he did admit it was all about him.
Declare a toilet a tourist attraction and these people would go down it to make a selfie.
They already have.. its call NYC..
"if he dies he dies "
You missed the obvious answer to his "I live for this": "You won't for long".
One of those replies you think of in the shower the next morning.
@@BayAreaDashCamera That's why you should shower every day.
Most stupid? We have a couple walking on top of just solified lava (a thin crust of it, actually. It was still molten underneath) a month ago or so.

This guy is one of them who wants to be a police officer, or traffic warden, moll cop.
His friend's haircut was stupider.
His guardian angel is racking up the overtime!

Difficult to see if there is actually an old " user path" beneath the long grass where the kid was.
I reserve judgement.
That's none of your business. Confronting someone you don't know is also not smart.
What if he fell? Still no one's business?

tourists/tourist areas 'cheapen' a place...
So many people have died for the sake of getting a good photo or selfie.
You should have said - Ooh, You're Hard! (British Office reference)
you REALLY should not cut people down for playing the game of "Natural Selection"

Not to mention those that are expected to risk life and limb to rescue him or retrieve his remains for his grieving family.
That dude's neurotransmitters are definitely imbalanced ...
Tampiti. If he had fallen, he wouldn't have to be saved! Stupidity costs you!
Darwin award goes to.......
"I live for that", until you don't.
Where is the link to the video he recorded?
What a jerk.
Thank you for confronting him
I don’t care about this individual but more about the nature he’s sabotaging
Yeah, the ijit may 'live for it', but he's going to 'die for it' to one of these days.
its none of your business. not even your country.
It was pretty stupid but no need to be a karen about it, let the man live his life
You'll die for it eventually.
What the frig!?
Second most Stupid thing, Filming him doing it ?
Very nice video 👍

I was unaware that 'being a dumbass' came in skill levels.
Have you gotten your certification yet?
There are signs on this main path asking you not to leave it. It’s irrelevant if he’s skilled or not.
It's ok to film him, no need for the lecture though. Not your business besides he knows anyway.
The poor guy recording was so nervous.. Such a soft person, he is unable to control his emotions
Get a life, mind your business. It's a free country, you saved no one. And it's image ursupation without consent, I report your video
Well it’s still here so your cunning plan failed. In most civilized countries, filming in public is perfectly legal 🤷♂️
Самый большой % погибающих, составляют люди, которые - НЕ ЦЕНЯТ свою жизнь !
Please people don't do stupid things in my country i hate having to put a toe tag on you.
