- In this video I give you guys 4 reason for why you should not attend Full Sail University. Reasons to not go to this school may be different for everyone but here is the list I came up with. One thing about full sail, after i graduated i realized how much more experienced i was then my peers. Only 10% of my class works in the industry. It all comes down to how hungry you are. I met a guy at city walk who graduated the RA program but was playing music at Margaritaville. Yup, I wasnt going to let that happen to me. Graduated the film program, Full sail wrote an article about me, then busted my butt, now im traveling the world shooting content for Coca-Cola.

So, moral of the story: don’t go to Full Sail if you’re not passionate and you’re in college to get wasted every night and go to frat parties. 😂😂😂
Also, take time think about it if you’re not sure if you can afford it because it’s really expensive. Don’t base your full decision on the money, but just take time to think about it.

That's why I'm attending a local community college first.
Yeap that’s basically what he’s saying. Full sail Univerisity is awesome I haven’t started yet and the people there have been nothing but patient with me in helping me get started. They’re awesome I went to the behind the scenes tour and I had an amazing time! If anyone is planning to attend I recommend to go to the Behind the scenes tours that they have. If you’re not passionate to go here, than you shouldn’t go here. And they help you if you don’t have the money. Like my first time applying I had wrote three essays and I had never written an essay in my life, and I got offered 3 scholarships. I think 2 was worth $3,000 and one was worth $2,000. The staff and admissions they are soo nice they will literally help you into making your transition as smooth as possible. And if you can’t start right away, they will not rush you, they will even push your start date back to a later date . I talk to admissions all the time. They’re literally the nicest people.

@nightcore bro - If you want to further your education, go to a respectable university. Even if you have to attend a community college to improve your grades. Unless you receive at least a 50% in scholarships and grants at these for profit universities, it is much better especially today to attend a distinguished university. But if you go that route, do it with confidence. And if your grades are really good and you just completed being a sophomore, use your guidance counselors and start sending your transcripts ASAP. I have a friend who wanted to attend the University of Florida 4 months before graduation. And I knew she wouldn't be accepted because to attend a university like that, she needed to show interest around at the time she was a sophomore or junior. Part of it is her fault, and her counselors. Overall, it happens that way to most of us. Either way, that's the best advice I can share.
Quaccers same here, (Junior) I really really want to go, but idk if I’ll be able to afford it, that’s why a lot of people drop out is that they can’t continue to pay

Even if you can’t afford it, if you put your all into it you’ll be able to build a successful career and pay back your loans. But I’d say if you’re not sure about what you want in life then Full Sail isn’t for you solely based on the fact that you shouldn’t spend that much money on a guess. Follow your heart, even if it’s expensive.

Facts. But I'm deciding between 2. I'm most likely will end up doing both but have to decide which one I want to do first. Game development is one of them which Full Sail has lol the other is Software Development which I'd have to look elsewhere. Doing my research though before I just jump into a college. Too old to choose the wrong one 🤣 well, not old but I'm 25. Have to make the right decision now. Advise to any high school students, think about what you want to do during your Freshman to Junior years. Research colleges during your Senior year or even earlier is great. Try for scholarships and please don't give up! 25 and trying to get back into college 🤣 not fun I promise. Go right after high school.

I'm a student at Full Sail, I agree with most of this. For me, my major is my passion, so I'm good with the hands on dedication and commitment of everything. Yes, it is expensive, but you definitely get your moneys worth. Nice video.

Freshman year was right around 17k and I got 15k in grants and according on how well you do your grants will continue to carry over for following year and if you get qualified for scholarship it pays the rest. So your basically going for free if you dedicate yourself and keep good gpa. It's basically up to you. Fuck off and end up owing the school or dedicate yourself and make yourself a future. I'm excited

The first 4 months will be some reflective classes to help you learn some basic knowledge that you will need later down the line for your degree and the 5th month is when you start your classes for learning your degree. I say go for it! If your determined and ready to make a brighter future for yourself, then i don't think you can choose a better school.

I really see everything here as positives.
If you’re thinking about going to collage for a career that you want to do and you feel that these things are negatives, then you should rethink your path. Everything here should be big positives if it’s something you really love doing, if these points make you feel like not going then you probably don’t love the subject as much as you think you do.

I have to agree, I attended FS in the Masters program (2010-2012) for Video Game Production. I had hoped to get a little more involved in the production myself, but, for me it was more of watching others work, while managing the project. Yes, you learn a boatload of info about the industry, and yes, getting a job is all about what you want in the industry, because the varieties are huge. I went to FS with the expectation of working hard in school on a daily basis, and not wasting time and money. It was a great experience, and going to GDC was the topper for me.

Good to see this Henry. Right on, man. I did the MFA online , be prepared to WORK, but as a writer, I’m now doing things I could never have approached before. The KEY I think is working with Industry Professionals. HIGHLY recommend the writing program. LIFE CHANGING. LOVE this school and Top Notch administration , attitude , teachers. GO FOR IT.
Hi. Did you study their Creative Writing programme by any chance? May I ask, what was the job search after graduation like? Were you able to land a position in the first couple of months? I've heard some people say that the employability after graduation is very poor.
This really helped I just found out about Full Sail and am thinking about going! I’m in the shoes of not wanting a typical college experience and being more hands on so this video has helped me possibly want to go there more!

Honestly true. I graduated FS in 2018, and I’ve been fortunate to work on set because of all the networking I did. So thanks to that I’m working on feature productions right now. Not to mention all the equipment we can learn to use there

Digital Cinematography degree started June 1st I'm in week two thanks for this information bro. @@monkeykingmo-ri777 Lmao, I go to an Ivy League school and I can tell you that for-profit schools are not as rigorous as its students make it out to be. They let anyone in, take their money, chew 'em and spit em out.
It's not a literal scam, they at least give you **something** in return for the money. But considering you are paying rates that you would only see at an Ivy (without any financial aid), then it's not worth it at all.
I was about to say that this video is SO WELL put together, VERY professional. People that have channels this small don't have THIS high quality of content.

Very interesting video to know better about that school. Could you tell how many students gratuated in Game Design there in 2019 ? I am trying to understand why there are so many F.Sail alumnis working in the game industry as the quality of their programs seems less good than that of University of Southern California for instance.
Whenever I talked to someone from Full Sail for the program I’m going into which is Video Game Developer they said that they definitely get u in the door for a job so I don’t know what this guys talking about. It might just be cuz my major is different

@@allenaswanson2252 Honestly the school is so upfront about everything that I havent had any surprises. Do know that it's possible to learn all of the information they provide on your own but will take you much longer and you'll have to figure out what is BS and what is legit by trial and error. Other than that I love Full Sail and everything they've provided for me. I impress my self and my friends quite regularly with how much I've improved since I started attending classes. I had already been learning the audio engineering side of the production on my own for a couple of years so I actually have before and afters. Do you have the accelerated learning path? If so, being busy is completely expected. I absolutely adore Full Sail and I'm grateful for this college. I'm on the accelerated track for a BFA in Computer Animation and all of my teachers and their respective assignments have been incredibly helpful. I feel like this college is incredibly unique and fun.

I'm going to PHSC to study computer programming and am later considering Full Sail for a more hands-on experience. I'm not exactly sure which area to apply programming knowledge yet, but it's a meaningful career to have. Any tips or warnings?
Man, full sail was my dream, living i Florida chilling by the beach, having a successful job. Hearing this...I’m so disappointed...what I needed in my life was to have a successful job the college gave me after graduating, but they don’t do that apparently...I hope they change it, engineering has been my dream since I was 5, im 11 now and I still wanna be an engineer, I really hope they change it
bruh you still got 8-9 years depending on if you take a gap year. dont sweat it, learn as much as you can from youtube, forums and all different places on the web for now. youre still so young so you have nothing to worry about. they could change in the future or possibly a better school will come along.
I agree with Kobe that you got a while before you have to worry. Enjoy being a kid for a while. One thing you’re going to learn is that unless the college wants to hire you personally, then they’re not going to get the job for you. You can make connections and they can help you along the way, but going out and getting a job will be completely up to you my friend.
No university degree guarantees you a job, I know people with PhDs that can't get a job, it's not uncommon to have multiple masters and end up in a career completely different than what they went for.

im a junior in high school and I really want to attend full sail. Ive been involved in my film classes since freshman year and I really enjoy it. ive read a lot of bad reviews about people dropping out due to failing and im honestly scared. ive also heard that the professors don't take their jobs seriously. but they could be rumors so I really don't know the truth.

@@jooshyie06 I never ended up going. I don't suggest going if you want to experience normal university. I go to a reg university and study film and I love it. I get to experience basic core classes/ parties/ dorms while still doing film

My two high school friends graduated from full sail one music one film ... I was so jealous at the time I visited them in Florida they rented a house , but they were each like 80K in student debts from loans ....but at the time they were living large like going to Best Buy and buying video games and whatever they wanted ...in the end both of them have worked in the industry but it never really took off for them ...they did learn a lot ... but in the end The loans are killing them, sucks

Selling yourself to life the “dream” ain’t worth it. You literally can find so many paid courses online to get good or work under someone, $80K worth of debt is a no go for me and should be for anyone. You’ll be a slave financially just to live your dream daily?

I’m in the Digital Cinematography programs and My last two instructors were sucky. Every time it’s lecture time they have “technical difficulties “ 10 minutes later. So we sit and wait....then get a late email saying they’ll post a pre-recorded one. Ask a question? Get an answer an hour before the assignment is due. I hate it here 😂

Took 1 year break after high school. Now I'm going to attend a community college to get my feet on the ground and I'm looking into colleges for music production. I keep seeing mixed reviews on Full Sail. People say it's a waste and others say it's helped them a lot in the field. I'd love to work for Republic Records, so I think I might keep looking.

Dude, I was about to go postal and think you are just like disgruntled students from the Art Institute, because students from The Art Institute have a reason to be. This short was on point!!!! I’m finishing my BA in Communications and Just Decided on Full Sail for my Masters in Film. While I’m finishing my u Grad at MD, I was going to take the Certificate Program because the Military is paying for my UGrad. I may actually just take my AA instead while in MD before I move to Florida. Thanks for everything here!! Love it!!!

so full sail is legitimate and accredited college cause I saw it on TV and even called asking about requirements to attend til they said: GED required...and this was still on my radar.
For me I was one of alumni for film program, and I'm still work as sports broadcasting station in Korea. Probably most of you guys just felt this school is bullshit but this school can show up various sorts of experience about our industry. Hopely wanna you guys just stand and walk along then you guys gonna stand your industry.

Army veteran here been teaching my self Ableton live 10 standard for over a year now . I've got some stuff on multiple platforms . I'm moving down there in April. I like to network I've done my fair share of parting in the army and in the shitty. traditional school in leaving . I'm ready to get down there and follow my dreams. I've had friends die to young . Im planning on starting may 30th for music production it took me years to figure out what i wanna do….and took me awhile but i had to really think back to when i was in JR high school and it boiled down to computers and music but then came down to what do I REALLY wanna do like in terms of enjoyment and what really makes me happy and that was music….im not even doing music production for a job per-say but overall the enjoyment of music i dabbled my hand on basic daws like garageband on the IOS and bandlab and deep down I saw that i could possibly really be good at it as long as i have the grit and passion for it and yea all that checks out for me
I have spent the last 5-6 years debating whether or not to go to Full Sail, I really want to, but I'm poor as fuck and have never been able to afford it. I want nothing more than to go for Audio Production, and this only made me want to go more (even though one of your reasons was cost haha) I've tried going twice but could never afford it (still cant't) but I think it's time to say fuck it and do whatever I can to make it work. thank you, I think?

I'm currently in Full Sail now chasing my BFA. On track to graduating in '23. Bussing my ass to maintain my gpa which is a 3.3 currently. I will become a screenwriter. Anything that's worth it will pay off with hard work and dedication. Pell Grants and Finacial Aide is available as well student loans. I'm enjoying my time.
Hey. I don't know if you're still here but i'm a junior in highschool right now and i'm looking into full sail right now. I wanted to ask how your experience was at full sail. I want to attend Full Sail for like Cyber security/Programming or Video game creator. I want to get my associates degree there and i wanted to know if it'll be worth it
I’m thinking about go to full sail and I want to do music recording, I want make music that’s like hip hop, rap, love songs stuff like that because I grew up listening to every type of music and always wanted make that kind of music, I don’t care about parties and drinking, I want to be able learn and understand and feel positive emotions on what I’m doing so should I go or no I’m just tryna understand the video.🤗
you can party at full sail if you're a recording arts student if you're in game develop good luck with that lol but I party a lot the first year and a half and still made valedictorian. Not saying it's easy but I also went to another school to get a certificate so I already had prior knowledge. It's all about time management, because you will get stressed out if you do not get out and live a little outside of school. NETWORK IS A MAJOR KEY
What about housing?
im actually in the process of applying to full sail this end of september if i can get enough aid in scholarships and loans. They will be my school for my second bachelors as my first school didnt really prepare me as much as i needed with art.
@@MillionsHenry Talked with admissions for an hour or 2 and i guess I did good enough for them to waive admission. That totals out at $300 so while that may not be much for some I'm poor and so it felt good.
I'm looking at going in for computer animation or game art. I was told they are very similar so I'm not sure which. I would be coming in as a transfer so I would be going less than the 20 months that is the degree more than likely since my GE's and some other are classes should transfer out.
I consider just going to full sail for a masters but the only option for me would have been film production and I wanted to be able to work as a fine artist first before i got into the producing and directing side of things which i also have an interest in
He is so right. I have five more classes at full sail for my BA in Audio production this school is no your run of the mill school.
