  • 🎥 About This Video:
Hey Everyone, in this video I show you how you can use side chain compression in OBS Studio 27 to balance out your audio with a technique called audio ducking. Audio Ducking is a great way to improve your streams audio by automatically lowering the volume of your music and game audio when you speak and raising it back up when your not speaking. This is IMHO an essential plugin that is built into OBS that every streamer should be using. Enjoy.

Hey Joe, this is a very interesting video and tool.
I think that 7.50 to 1 compression might be a bit too high - it become harder to hear what is going on in the background past 5 to 1. I've actually settled on as low as 3 to 1.
The other way to audio duck would be to do in Audacity if you need to for older videos.

    Hi! :)
I have to manage with indipendent volume: Mic, RUclips Audio with ducking, Streamdeck Music with ducking and monitoring alltogheter on earphones in OBS. Which is the best method?
Mic on audio interface, RUclips on virtual cable1(desktop), Streamdeck on virtual cable2(desktop2) and monitoring all by audio interface?
    :/

Depends on your interface and if you need it all in real time.

I set up ducking but I got a metallic kind of sound, what could I be doing wrong? And I only noticed it when I played back my video

      Too high a compression ratio?

@@crazyelf1 possibly. But I’ve resolved that since then
