    Too many people think if you're only using your own weight then you won't create muscle mass...They forget it's the fatigue you put on your muscles that create muscle mass..Doesn't matter how you fatigue them as long as you do.. You don't need a gym or any equipment...If you want to fatigue them when it gets easier, then do more reps, or do the same number but much slower.

      the thing is that the pain and burn you must endure for pushups vs gymweights is miles ahead.
      even the most swole guys cannot compete with a dedicate pushup only focused person. and its not because their ''muscles'' arent used to it, its because their brains cannot accept the pain.
      going for 5 reps on extreme pain is A LOT easier and gives the same results as going for 5.000 reps on zero pain. because the pain starts to build up and becomes impossible to handle.
      try going slowly and REALLY work out to failure...if you do, its the same thing. time under pressure will get you swollen, doing 25reps and calling it a day wont...go 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 wide and then the same narrow, and then the same diamond, and then the same with elevetaed feet. everyone can do it. but when you try it....you understand how hard it becomes...

      Base on experience yes just your own bodyweight can build enough mass especially if you do your reps in time under tension. Doing more reps doesn't always mean alot but with the proper muscle mind connection with tut can be beneficial

    I can 500 push ups in 20 minutes . 1000 push ups in 55 minutes. I have learned that doing slow push ups help u in gaining size while doing fast push ups helps with endurance as u will do more reps.

    Agree with this video completely, push ups are an extremely effective way of building muscle and strength. A high volume push up workout gives me a far better pump than any conventional chest workout.

    Very true. Not many people believe it, but you can actually gain lots of muscle mass and strength with only push-ups. Of course if you include squats it's even better. I'm 117kg and i do 300 push-ups & 300 squats three days a week. You won't believe the strength you can get by just doing these two most basic exercises Next month I'll add 50 more

      @@budekins542 i live in an orthodox monastery and now I'm 128 kg, but i still do 300 pushups and squats 3 days/week and we don't eat meat in a monastery

      @@Thesheperd703 do you mind if I ask you something. .does doing pushups and not eating meat or at least not "over eating" assist in bodily self-control as in overcoming bodily lusts. I confess that I overcame an addiction to porn by replacing the porn with strength training using weights, resistance bands & body weight exercises. I hope to set up a RUclips channel in 2021 and tell how this was achieved.

      @@budekins542 it will definitely help. It's about willpower. Lifting weights, doing pushups, fasting...etc. all these are about strengthening your willpower and in turn that gives us self-control over our addictions or bad habits

    Ppl need to know you can break it down... start with 5 pushups 20x over a day, then increase to say 10x10 and then to 5x20 (even go 5 warm up-10-5 on the back side). Give a day or 2 between for rest (listen to your body). Over time you will build muscle and stamina. Mix it up occasionally by using a playground for circuit training.

      I do 16 sets of 25 reps with 1:30 seconds rest in between. Feet elevated in a chair wide arm only ,Monday,Wednesday and Friday.

    For those looking to build strength. You have to challenge how much force your muscles can apply. Doing large volumes of push ups will improve muscle endurance. But it won't greatly improve strength.
    I.E in terms of strength. 1 standard push up with just your body weight is the same as 100 standard push ups with just your body weight. But 1 one arm push up. Is making that arm apply way more force. Than 100 standard push ups.
    You don't have to do one arms right away. You can do archer push ups. Do push ups were you come down slow and push up as fast as you can. As long as you're pushing your muscles to apply more force than normal. That's how you build strength

    I’ve been doing push-ups because I’m afraid to bench by myself and nobody in my family wants to give up Netflix for 10 minutes for me to do some reps so I just do push-ups

    No. 100-200 is how you get more toned. More tension for 10, 15 or 20 for example is the way to go. Slower and more closer to the ground. Dont chase the reps. put in more work for less.

      Mada Mada Dane No, he’s right. Yes after a point 12 push ups won’t build muscle just endurance, but you can’t start with 100 right away, you have to work your way there so you’re always keeping your muscle to a brand new load. So you are both right.

    Great video. Just make sure that you do full extensions on every repetition. Stop at the top for one second & at the bottom for one second. making every repetition last for 2 seconds.

    I don’t really get the point of going THAT far. Like why don’t you just add a backpack with weights and do around 100-200 push-ups rather than doing 500? It saves a lot of time and you still get similar results

    I’m bad at push-ups so I’m trying to improve by doing 100 throughout the day so far I went from 15 in a row to 47 🎉

    I came up with a knew plan instead of doing 100 push ups in a row because most of can't if you do 5 push ups at a time then stop and rest and do it again for 30 times you get way better results if you do your push ups slow when going up and then slow when going back down and then you do sit ups 5 times for 30 some people do crunches instead of situps but i like situps and you do that every day but on mondays and wensdays you do 5 squats 30 times and you will build a great body

    So my question is, do you have to pump them out all in a row, or can you put some time between them? So if I got out of bed, but could only do like 5 sets of 20. Then maybe at some point in the afternoon I pump out another 5 sets of 20 to get to the 200 mark. Is that ok, or does it do you more of a benefit to do them all in one sitting?

    when you do 100 push ups and after a few months you can do the smae push ups but 500 times, isn't not that what we call muscular endurance?

      I suppose so. Thing is, no matter how often you do pushups there is no way in hell 500 won't leave you fatigued. Whether or not that fatigue is enough to stimulate hypertrophy or not, I'm not sure.
      But I'd like to think if you did two sets of high volume pushups like this, at morning and at night, while in a caloric surplus your arms and chest would grow.

    been doing pushups for 2 weeks now, at first i could hardly do 20 in a day but 2 weeks later and im up to 100 daily, arms havent changed much in looks but i can feel the difference in weight when im using my arms, feels like im swinging around sand bags

      Add mass gainers to your diet and you’ll be insane. I got a South African, locally made for me, USN powder with 1230 colors per serving of 2 scoops. Makes healthy calories overconsumption so much easier my arms have tripled in just 3 months. Might be getting a new wardrobe soon 🙂

    Does it matter if I do my pushups at any time of day? For example, I was thinking of doing 50 after lunch and another 50 after dinner. Would that be good or is there another schedule I should follow.

    So I'm going to start this tomorrow doing exactly what you said for all 5 months but.... After the first 5 months and you restart, can you start doing simple explosive pushups in place of a push-up each month? Also, since I'll do this every other day, can I do push-ups 1 morning, then the next morning do abs, and keep alternating that while doing them every other day?

    I went to the hole in prison for 180 days and didnt lift 1 weight I did explosive clap pushups and slow 10 count pushups then amap all out pummping em... for back i did inverted rows at varying speeds and reps off my top bunk feet danglin out like chin ups ect..... anyway i got out of the hole and day 1 i bench pressed my old 1rm for 5

      Build it up progressively. Do 2, rest, do it again etc. You'll build up quite a number by the end.

    You gotta max out to failure. Until you flop. Hold the last one as long as you can. Take 10 seconds rest, do it again. As many as you can do and hold the last one until you drop. 10 times in a row. Month 2, 20 then 30 etc.. Prison shit

    Another thing to build muscle for sure is let your muscles build, and they need time to grow, so do them hard and strong then wait about two days and do them again

    I've been doing 50 press-ups & 50 sit-ups every day for the month of august but I got told by another channel that if i do this i won't notice a difference.
    fyi, i'm overweight and i struggle with 50 press-ups & the most i can do in a row is 25 but i'm trying to change my lifestyle. So is he right & i'm wasting my time or what?

      Just do what you do for now for your set amount of time, and if youre confident enough for your strength, do harder routines or best bet, go to the gym :)
