  • Enlarged prostate, also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), is a common urological condition affecting men beginning around age 40. Rates of BPH increase with age; more than 90% of men over age 80 have BPH. BPH causes a range of urinary problems, which can affect quality of life: causing pain or difficulty with urination, disrupting sleep, and requiring frequent trips to the bathroom among other issues.
SLUCare Urologist Dr. Lindsay Lombardo will discusses the signs, symptoms and treatment options of BPH. She reviews treatments including medication (5-alpha reductase inhibitors & Alpha Blockers), Rezūm Water Vapor Therapy, Prostatic Urethral Lift (PUL), GreenLight Laser Therapy, Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP), and Prostatectomy.
This webinar was done in conjunction with Boston Scientific and SLUCare Physician Group.

I had the Rezum treatment 5 days ago. It was incredibly painful. I think you are glossing over the discomfort experienced during the scope and Rezum treatment. The pain experienced was off the charts.
    Your presentation was very informative.

I agree. She's definitely not being honest about how painful this stuff is. Had a cystoscopy a few years ago and I have never recovered mentally. The pain was excruciating. I'm terrified of anything else now. So scary because there's no treatment that doesn't result in excruciating pain and humiliation.

@@jessman8597 Jess man, I totally agree. A year later I still have flashbacks to the barbaric treatment. It took me a year before I could sum up courage to see another urologist. I will not tolerate being treated like a piece of meat ever again

Why would you make a comment that you are bored doing a green light laser treatment when the guy lying there either can’t pee or has psychological distress wondering whether he will pee normally again or God forbid live with a foley for his remaining days. How insensitive.
