Vintage Story is back with a new Noob guide! I'm starting fresh with a bunch of mods to make things more interesting! To start, I'll show you how to make baskets, start making basic tools and other beginner tips!

It would be one of the best inspired by Minecraft games… Ever.
Agreed! I think this game is not well known yet!
The lore does expand pretty deeply into lovecraftian themes so far even though it’s unfinished.
A great plague destroys all living things and a great human inventor attempted to build a machine to stop the coming apocalypse.
The device that he created unintentionally was/became/was destined to be some lovecraftian eldritch god of another mirror reality that exists in the same place as ours just in another “dimension”
After the creation of this “machine god” thing these temporal rifts began appearing and the drifters began to crawl out of it.
There’s a lot to it honestly and I did a poor job of explaining. But yea basically humanity did a fucky wucky and awoke some ancient evils from a parallel universe that is now slowly seeping in and infecting the world in a similar way that the plague once did in the past

They do have plans to expand it, but from the implications I got, it won't be much, but I could very well be wrong~
I feel like overexplaining or diving too deep would ruin it. one of the reasons lovecraft is so good is the otherworldly mystery aspects he presents.

That is my servers god we worship him and he brings us good harvests. He is also a pretty chill dude.
hehe, I imagine his poops must be massive and act as a godlike fertilizer! I would expect nothing but good harvest for him! :D

I got stuck outside in a temporal storm one time and yeah that thing is creepy.

I think it might be slightly inspired from that movie! To bad you can't fight it!
funny thing, i once watched my friend play this game and he was off exploring a nearby mountain while his temporal gear thing was drained and he was going insane when he decided to throw a spear at it and FUCKING HITMARKER SOUND and then some ungodly screech FUCKING wrecked the entire server and made him go temporarily deaf and blind in the game
ive been trying to find a video about it but i haven't had any luck finding anything about it

@@Rakoona also apparently multiple other players on the server were also affected and there was a bunch of people thinking it was some rule breaking mod

@@PrivateTF2 huge lag spike, and nearly everyone in the server was affected by it.
the audio was also messed up for a couple minutes
I really, really want to hear the sound it made as I cannot find any video showing that off.
The plug is an eldeitch horror beyond human comprehension but he’s chill.

I heard a rumor that if you crank your view distance to max, you can see dave glitching out on the horizon, even when not in a storm

@@RakoonaThis has been fixed in the current version.
During my first temporal storm I saw this thing and got freaked out thinking it was an actual enemy (I play with maxxed settings which is why I was able to see it). It seems like this thing is like the giant gears though and doesn't actually do anything for now. I think the reason it was glitching out was that those entities, gears and walker, might never despawn and just hang on players' horizons then scale up when the game detects your in a storm. Food for thought.
@@matthewzaczeniuk4892maybe devs wanted them to not actually dissapear because thats how it is in the lore
The fact that you can never reach this thing tells me one of two things:
Either A. it's only a mirage as the real creature is still fully inside whatever dimension the rifts are from
or B. this creature is so ungodly large that it can be seen from hudrends, maybe even thousands of miles away.
and it walks around you during temporal storm, We know we can't see him unless we set the view to 400 blocks... How far is 400 blocks?
@@Rakoona well, if we assume the blocks are a meter like in minecraft, than 400 meters.

He was called "Thunderlord" or nowadays "Dave" and it was most likely made as a way to add more horror to the game.
Also when you enter rifts you don't lose your mind you just appear in the rust world💀
The rust world in funky! And the name "Dave" takes a lot of the horror out of the beast!
Here's a question... Have any of you witnessed Drifters bowing and worshipping when they don't see you? usually around translocators?
No, never saw that! This could be interesting!
I have seen them drop to their knees randomly for whatever reason, I never knew that but it sounds super interesting!
Yep jumpscared me a good few times during a temporal storm where I’d turn around inside just to see 2 drifters bowing down to thin air instead of attacking me, almost always happened when a cat was around when I had a pet mod too so there’s def some AI coding wires that got crossed there I think lol

Saw that thing walking about in the horizon during my first temporal storm(it was a medium sized one). I was safely inside my home and looking through the window when I saw it. There were a couple mutated drifters prowling about trying to get inside as well. It was really unsettling to experience...
Those temporal storms can be quite unsettling!
I only found this game a few days ago, played it today and I'm loving it. I have it on easy ish mode atm though, I kept getting killed 😆

it reminds me of SCP-2256, a Cryptomorpha gigantes which is not normally able to be perceived.
