I like you on the straight pipes so am here too! V8s are also my favorite! I like to see Z06 and Fox body stuff as suggestions. Look forward to seeing more videos!
I love the fact that you bought the mustang for that challenge you did with Yuri on The straight pipes, and then just kept it and kept on improving the car. From a budget buy to a genuinely beautiful ride.
Updates on every single one of them, what made you want to buy each one and whats broken on them. What future plans you have for each one. Take us on maintenance adventures. All seems like quality content most car enthusiasts love.
Mercedes and Corvette I’m most interested in cost of ownership as well as the AMG wagon the most! Family guy here. Looking forward to your future content!
A garage and driveway tour would be nice. Inside and outside and some of the things you like/don’t like and what you’d do the same/different if you were to do it again.

Very cool! I love the old stuff and currently have a 2011 Raptor and a LS6 powered BMW 330i ZHP. I sometimes long for the newer amenities, but I just can’t get excited about the new stuff short of the Blackwing cars and IS500.
@@itsreallyjakub I just picked it up to replace my F80 M3 manual. It’s really well done, the only issue is the cruise does not work. The LS6 is my favorite LS motor.
@@clubracer6 LS6 is awesome. Makes big power and parts are cheap. I love my LS7 but the uniqueness makes parts less available and much more expensive. Like an alternator for the LS7 is nearly $1000 vs $200 for LS6 lol
@@itsreallyjakub agreed! I had a C6 race car. Started with the LS2 which blew up at Road America ((video on my non-channel don’t like or subscribe!)) and then went with a LS6. Then went built LS7 and that was a disaster and put be back in Spec Miata and a bit out of racing. 😟
Super awesome, so glad to come across your new channel! Just found your channel. I used to have 06 Z06. Not sure if you're having the same issues I had but just in case alternator fix doesn't do it, I also ran into issues with mine and thought it was the alternator. I replaced it but still had issues. What I didn't expect was my starter causing all the electrical issues. Since the starter is right next to the cat (-__-), starter got real hot and wore down quick and led to drawing a lot more from the battery than normal to start the car. Also resulted in wearing down the battery real quick. It also stranded me a few times where it refused to start. Before I suspected the starter, I replaced the cam sensor (because that as the OBD error it was spitting), the alternator (because battery was overworked), and then finally the starter. Replaced the starter and wrapped it with heat resistant blanket and the car was perfect again until I sold it. Even if alternator fixes it, I would wrap the starter with heat resistant material to save you future headache.
Thanks for the heads up. I installed a high torque starter a while ago and I’m pretty sure we heat wrapped it if I recall. I haven’t had any hot starting problems. Just the stupid alternator. This fixed pulley rather than the clutched pulley SHOULD be the last fix on it
2014 Gen 1 - Screw - Arizona, traded a 76’ Bronco Trail Rig for it plus cash for buyer. Has 151k on it and it sits in my driveway 5-6 days a week. Awesome!
This is excellent news from another comrade Canadian! Keep doing vlogs, and talk more about each individual car and it's issues, the history. Maybe what a typical day is for you doing youtube, etc. Possibilities are endless!
Would be great to get breakdowns of realistic projects. There’s definitely an unfilled niche. Though the youtube algorithm might inevitably push you to crazy builds
Congrats @ItsReallyJakub on the new channel! Love all of your old content and have been a subscriber since you were around 100k. Can’t wait to see what comes next!
Great meeting you in Guelph at the exotic car show last June. I have a 95 Mustang GT with a bunch of mods and a C6 convertible with a Livernois Motorsports built 7.0L LS3. If you ever want to compare and contrast cars in a video, I’m in KW area. Good luck with the channel!
I own the 2020 army green sequoia you guys reviewed a few years ago…nice big v8!!! Got it from a buddy at Toyota Canada corporate. If you ever want to drive it again let me know!!!
break down of long term ownership expenses, fuel , PM, parts availability, things to look for before buying one (common failures) which mods and why, dyno comparison before after each mod, if you track/autocross any of those, which tires have you tried, which do you like best?
Love your cars, love TheStraightPipes, love used car content, and love the idea for the channel. That said, I have a question. You’re a bit of a wagon guy right? Which used wagons would you recommend looking into?
I feel like you're really underestimating your SL500. They are extremely reliable cars and and will probably outlast everything else in your garage. It's very unfortunate that things keep breaking on yours. That's not normal from my experience. I have a 1997 and I drive it really hard. I have a beefy staggered set up on 3 piece forged wheels on pilot sport 4s tires with 295s and bilstein B6 shocks and I floor it all the time and take corners like a maniac. I also spent over $30,000 restoring mine and right now I easily do 5 second 0-100 on good days and the thing pulls to 260 so smooth and stable. The M119 is an amazing engine and sounds so good. I don't know what exhaust set up you're running but I also went to Hot Rod Scotts and I got the secondary cats removed along with the resonator and I put in a free flowing muffler. It has a very unique V8 sound. Plus another thing you can do is you can remove your hood insulation (it does nothing), and refinish the inside of the hood to be body colour so it looks nice and clean, and you will be able to hear the engine noises when driving and trust me it's a whole different experience that way. Also change all your fluids to Redline next time you service it. Get Redline D4 transmission fluid which is the correct spec for this car. The new updated fluid is too thin for the 722.6 even though mercedes recommends it. Trust me you'll notice a difference. Also run 10w40 redline engine oil, it's well known that the M119 loves that stuff as it's a true synthetic oil and does not shear and lose its lubricating properties over time, and it has a 20w50 oil film despite being 10w40. Get that thing fixed up properly with all OEM parts and start giving it some love it deserves
Yes, it would be good content to see cars outside your own collection. Not only some true classics of the '60s-'70s, but some future classics from the '80s-2000s. Maybe some dealerships can let you review some of said cars if your friends or viewers don't have any to loan you. 👍
