I was just in china a couple weeks ago for one month. I stayed in my family’s home ( i was born in canada but ethnically chinese). On walking tours i met an irish, italian and german. EVERYONE i met across the globe, and im quite social, supports Palestine.

Personally, I believe that China’s reason for standing up in support of Palestine is the same reason as to why other former colonized nations like Ireland, India, and South Africa would want to stand up in support of Palestine, and that is “compassion” & remembering the dark times of imperialism.
Because China, just like Palestine was once invaded, bullied, and to some sense colonized by foreign powers during the Century of humiliation. Like Britain invaded China in the 1st & 2nd Opium War, France invaded China in the Sino-French War, Japan invaded China in both the 1st & 2nd Sino Japanese War, also one one point all eight nations team up together to put down a boxer uprising in China in order to protect their own colonial/imperial ambitions.

The western governments might come out in support of Israel but so much of the general population are strongly opposed to innocent civilians being targeted.

Many of the people living outside of the countries which are labelled 'Western' don't exactly seem to understand that different individual people in these 'Western' countries can have differing views on a topic such as Israel-Palestine.
They don't seem to comprehend the fact that there is no such thing as a universal consensus in these Western countries in favor of Israel, that instead there is extensive arguments and disagreements between different 'Westerners' on the topic, with a large amount of these 'Westerners' actually having quite critical views of Israel's policies.
And that you can only judge and criticize an individual 'Westerner' for the views that he, as an individual person, actually has, rather than the views you assume he has because he is part of this imagined idea of 'The West'.
Instead, many of the people living outside of the imagined construct they refer to as 'The West' seem to think that 'The West' is some sort of homogenous blob where every single person all thinks universally identically about every international topic, that there is no disagreement or conflict of view among the 'Westerners' about these topics and that all 'Westerners' are universally guilty and condemnable of holding the same terrible views on topics such as Israel-Palestine.

I am Chinese, and contrary to most people around me, I (used to) admire, and was fascinated by, the achievements that Israel has made since its establishment. Yes, its statehood has been not without its dark history, but I thought the Israeli side represented the highest standard of governance, technological advancement and human development in the region. Also, Israel has been one of the friendliest countries in the Western bloc towards China with lots of economic cooperation. Even uo to the beginning of the current crisis, I was sympathetic towards Israel, because HAMAS, despite all the grief from the tribulation that the Palestinian people had endured, was blatantly targeting Israeli civilians. HOWEVER, the atrocity that Israel has perpetrated in Gaza since then has far transcended my worst imagination. This has essentially eradicated all my sympathy towards Israel. I can no longer consider Israel as a nation with a 'higher level of human development' with all these inhumane atrocities in Gaza.

One way of looking at the root motives (psychological aspects) of the State of Israel's tyrannical actions against Palestine, which were pioneered from the start by the Zionist movement, below we present a number of Talmud verses (which are believed by the majority of Jewish Zionist community and have strong potential to shape the value system of the adherents), as "one of the possible causes" of the Zionists' cruel and manipulative actions against non-Jews, such as Christians, Moslems, and Other Religions or Races (whom they termed as 'Ghoyim' or 'Gentilles').
By knowing the contents of some verses in the Talmudian Jewish religious book, we will have a "hypothesis" regarding the question: why do Zionists tend to have arrogant character (feeling superior), self-serving, manipulative and hypocritical, distorting facts and producing deceitful news (false propaganda), inhumane (cruel), and often betraying agreements (for example, violating the 38+ resolutions that have been issued by United Nations to resolve the conflict between Israel and Palestine).
The following are some examples of verses in the Jewish Talmud that are full of delusional, sociopathic and non-humanistic values:
“Only the Jews are humans, while the Gentiles are not humans, but animals.” (Kerithuth 6b p.78, Jebhammoth 61a).
“Wherever they (the Jews) come, they will be princes of kings.” (Sanhedrin 104a).
“Gentiles were created as slaves to serve the Jews.” (Midrasch Talpioth 225).
“The birth rate of non-Jews must be kept as low as possible.” (Zohar II, 4b).
“Jews may exploit the mistakes of non-Jews and deceive them.” (Talmud IV/1/113b).
Jews may practice usury against non-Jews.” (Talmud IV/2/70b).
“If two Jews deceive a non-Jew, they must share the profits.” (Choschen Ham 183, 7).
“The land of the Gentiles belongs to the Jews who first used it.” (Babba Bathra 54b). The possessions of the Gentiles are like an unowned desert; and everyone (every Jew) who takes it, already has it.” (Talmud IV/3/54b).
“Any Jew may use lies and perjury to bring a Gentile to his downfall.” (Babha Kama 113a).
"God (Yahweh) is never angry with the Jews, but only (angry) with the non-Jews." (Talmud IV/8/4a).
“When the Messiah (Last King of the Jews or Queen of Justice) comes, all will become slaves of the Jews.” (Erubin 43b).
The instillation and indoctrination of a value system originating from these verses to a person from an early age, both 'formally/informally' and 'explicitly/implicitly', can shape the character of Zionist Jewish individuals who tend to be inhumane in interacting with other parties, especially non-Jews.
If believers of this "dark" book are elected as the holders of power (i.e. leaders in politic, economy, health industry, socio-cultural producers, technology, military, etc.) in the state of Israel and/or their supporter countries, then it could more or less influence the essence of their policy patterns and actions towards non-Jewish people and countries throughout the world..!!!

Uyghurs are China’s own people, protected by Chinese law and treated as an equal just like any other Chinese. They are safe, happy, educated, getting support to develop themselves from Chinese gov. The same thing can not be said for Palestinians in Gaza next to the apartheid state Israel.

It is a diplomatic balance. China keeps a relationship with both parties but does not fuel the conflict with military supplies.
The most valuable role China could play in a conflict is to be the mediator who brings both parties onto the negotiation table and strikes a peace deal. This middleman must have a relationship and trust by both parties, significant (economically and militarily), and influences. China did that successfully for Iran-Saudi and is playing the same role in the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
