The main change in HarmonyOS is underlying connectivity software to make it able to connect to HarmonyOS IoT devices easily without any apps. That's why it's called "HarmonyOS" because it allows many different devices to work together "in harmony". But all the videos on HarmonyOS are just looking at its UI. The UI is just ported from EMUI with some minor tweaks.

UI is hardest part to work,it needs so big effort and lot of times.Expect changes in future.Most of the brands haven changed UI for many years ( except some small visual chsnges that comes with every major android update).
I am just upgraded to the new os and tested it for more than 2 hours and here is my feedback: 1 - Extremely solo (matter on 5 ms) 2 - Game too laggy( eg Pubg, everytime you launch it, OS recompile it from scratch, takes 1+min to open, even RUclips takes 10-15 seconds to become stable compare to the old os(3-4 sec max)) 3) control panel don't work, only first time once you restart your mobile it won't happen. 4) High battery consumption. To sum up, it's really very bad.

@@MatiX415 it is android. AOSP infact. Android open source project. It doesn't come with Google services thats all. There are loads of different forks of android. That includes Harmony OS.
Only thing holding Huawei back isn't the HOS but Huawei store. There isn't harmony when some apps need GMS and you need those apps in your life Same like needing siri but siri can only function on iOS.

@@damn6039 its a great OS. I repaired 2 iPhones in the past from certified third parties and it worked perfectly. If you go to uncertified, then that’s your problem. You have more than enough certified stores that are very cheap and good. Also IOS runs more stable and is more intuitive than most android customizings or Harmony OS

Harmonyos system is based on Android...The problem with Huawei devices is not the operating system...The problem is the lack of famous applications...The system is a failure and will not succeed without applications.
I think what you mean by 'famous' applications is the google apps..Yes, without GMS, apps like RUclips or Google Maps wouldn't be available but other apps like Facebook and Instagram would run fine on these huawei phones..and with a bit of tinkering, you can even get GMS installed on Huawei phones.

I have one big problem with HarmonyOS
It doesnt have the App Drawer
