Invest into the 401, ETFs, etc. but also save a portion of that to be invested in a passive income as well. Do not spend all you have earned and create a rule to spend only a fraction. We’ve lost so many friends and family because they all tell us we are crazy and too strict and we were tired of hearing them tell us how we would never achieve what we want. We’ve been living comfortably while getting debt free and still taking vacations and eating out within reason. It’s so possible and so with in reach with a mindset shift and discipline!

Most people are not so gifted to come up with great idea or motivated enough to push yourself or courageous enough to risk and bet your life on business. I became net worth of 35 million with 25 multifamily properties and ETFs at age 50 using what you called slowlane. I am confidently on my way to 100 million in next 10 years. This is a dangerous way of thinking. I've tried to start businesses but failed and have climbed the corporate ladder. I have more freedom/time in my current role than I ever did as a small business owner. The key is don't lifestyle creep as you're climbing the ladder. I still live like I'm on my original salary even though I make 5 times that amount. My peers live the "fancy" lives seen on social media but they're also spending far more and complaining to me about payments that have to be made on houses and cars.

There is nothing wrong with having a good job in a field that you enjoy, with a good salary. If you invest wisely in safer funds, over time, you will be fine. Don't play the markets, just save. I'm retired military and have had a pension for over 20 years now. We do charity work whenever we can and have traveled all over the world. I don't need a Ferrari. My Toyota Tundra has served me well. Am I mediocre as this author says? I don't think so.

You have a very valid point, I started investing on my own and for a long time, the market was really ripping me off. I decided to hire a CFA, even though I was skeptical at first, and I beat the market by more than 9%. I thought it was a fluke until it happened two years in a row, and so I’ve been sticking to investing via an analyst.

Natalie Ann Brinkman is the licensed coach I use. Just research the name. You'd find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment.

Great video and it really hit home. One tip I live by: always double-check the advice from those gurus against your personal goals and situation. Not all advice fits everyone. I started focusing more on financial education, learning to read the market trends and understanding my investment choices better. This hands-on approach has made me more confident in my decisions, rather than just following someone else's word. Your video is a great reminder to think for ourselves. Love the honesty!

I recently purchased it and I can tell it gives you an insight of the real practical world and how it sucks. I even resonate with some things written in the book as I personally got many of the lessons, the hard way :)

I've wasted my life time working, now I have a heart disease (genetic condition) and don't have much time left, I'm neither rich nor happy. Don't waste your time working paycheck to paycheck, cause one day you might have no time left, no money, no health (like in my case) and will not even realise it.

You can control and have leverage by having high skilled salary job. Leverage is when you earn more per hour. $18 per hour versus $300 per hour. Depending on the job you can enjoy your work, have flexible hours, and low stress. So its not always about having a business.

Easier said than done. That's why there are more people take the long route, there is proven track record with it too. There is no guarantee in either fast or slow. Since you gave an example of you could die tomorrow, same could be said for fast lane. you wont even have the time to see your business grow or come to fruition. There is no universal fit way.
