Yeah, his best pitch was his worst pitch when he left it hanging like a personal invitation for Ohtani to blast it out of the park. We'd been waiting for an Ohtani bomb, and the Australian pitcher served it up. No longer the sheriff in town.
As a Cardinals fan, I have so many teams to cheer for this WBC. Noot (and Shohei, even if he's not a Cardinal... yet), Arenado and Goldschmidt, I had Edman with Korea for a bit... fun stuff all around.
O’Neil Canada, also Waino and Mikolas team USA, Gallegos Mexico, Pallante Italy, Genesis Dominican Republic there are so many also we have some of our minor league guys on rosters too
Japan looking unstoppable at this point. USA and Dominican Republic were seen as the other best teams going in, and DR lost to Venezuela, US struggled against Great Britain. Gonna be a surprise if anyone but Japan wins it all.
If you ever visit Japan, attending a pro baseball game is a must. I had the good fortune of seeing a Hanshin Tiger's game at Koshien Stadium in Osaka. When the home team is up to bat, everyone is on their feet singing and chanting the batter's designated song the entire time he is at the plate. It was an exhausting and surreal experience all at the same time! I imagine these international competitions are a real treat for the fans. All the opposing fan bases get to come together, learn the chants of normally opposing players and sing them together as a collective Japanese fan base for the first time.
I love how when Ohtani hit the homer, he went back to the dugout to give everyone high 5’s. All these other teams be doing too much when they do something good. Everyone runs out the dugout, beating their chests, and it only be the second inning lol. Passing around the ball was awesome to witness. Props to the fans!
Needs to believe in himself a little more. I would say i wish we had hendricks, but i'd rather him at home or wherever he is getting better and recovering. Wish him well

Japanese culture is so polite. I am thankful for the home run just so fans could share in the excitement. (They are looking at the ball as if it dropped glowing from the sky tho.) 😅
Japan's lineup is like an amazing Allstar Team. The Pitcher Yamamoto throws unhittable pitches! Japan's batting order is solid from the Leadoff to the last batter. It looks like the Championship might be Japan vs China the Way that they're ranked! I have only watched this video and China beating the Italian team (that was fun to watch). This is still my favorite game. I love all sports, but there is so many things that make Baseball special in my opinion and to see that a game originally started in the United States (I live in Cincinnati Ohio) has taken on an International interest, with Cheering fans. Well, it just makes me wish that the World was more like Sports vs War. Sports brings good people and talent all together.
You're right. Only Américan football 🏈 remains isolated in only one country. The NFL should learn from the NBA and MLB and try to expand their game to the rest of the world
Ohtani hit that home run ball so hard in the 1st inning you could see the pitchers soul go with it but if you're gonna give up a 3 run home run don't feel too bad if Ohtani is the one you gave it up to

@@bunkydamonkey1225 If we actually had young guys who would play our pitching would crush them.
@@bunkydamonkey1225 yeah, the us has no pitching, sadly. japan and dr in the finals.
Japan really dominated this round!
“Sheriff, his curveball is his best pitch, tremendous bite downward.”
Shohei Ohtani proceeds to hit his curveball into space for a 3-run homer
a hanger for sure
Yeah unfortunate for the pitcher, that one pitch specifically was just hanging meatball
Good pitcher's best pitch, meet best baseball player on the planet.
🤣😂
Yeah, his best pitch was his worst pitch when he left it hanging like a personal invitation for Ohtani to blast it out of the park. We'd been waiting for an Ohtani bomb, and the Australian pitcher served it up. No longer the sheriff in town.
As a Cardinals fan, I have so many teams to cheer for this WBC. Noot (and Shohei, even if he's not a Cardinal... yet), Arenado and Goldschmidt, I had Edman with Korea for a bit... fun stuff all around.
?
O’Neil Canada, also Waino and Mikolas team USA, Gallegos Mexico, Pallante Italy, Genesis Dominican Republic there are so many also we have some of our minor league guys on rosters too
He’s never gonna be a Cardinal btw
Japan looking unstoppable at this point. USA and Dominican Republic were seen as the other best teams going in, and DR lost to Venezuela, US struggled against Great Britain. Gonna be a surprise if anyone but Japan wins it all.
What makes you think Venezuela wasn't good enough to beat The Dominican republic?
@@CCQ75 Venezuela is simply strong.
The 3 run homer from Ohtani in the first inning was the “shock and awe” against Australia 😂
Is this the first home run hitter to hit a billboard with his face on it?🤣
Japanese crowd politely go after the Ohtani home run ball, and then pass it around for photo opps.
SAMURAI JAPAN🇯🇵🗾
0:38 Ohtani's 3-run homer in the 1st inning crushed Australia's will to fight.
Not really. I think it was more the 97 mph fastballs and unhittable splitters 😂
You cant crush an Australians will to fight
@@mastermph1423 I just witnessed one example today tho
@_ If I know Aussies they will soon forget the game and be enjoying the food & drink in Tokyo pretty quickly.
I don’t think that ball landed yet that was a different ball they were passing around
I’m liking this Japan squad. Coming from the USA.
Respect for Australia
BEAUTIFUL.
I love how when Ohtani hit the homer, he went back to the dugout to give everyone high 5’s. All these other teams be doing too much when they do something good. Everyone runs out the dugout, beating their chests, and it only be the second inning lol.
Passing around the ball was awesome to witness. Props to the fans!

ngl Yamamoto delivered an absolute pitching GEM💎 tonight and was actually better than any Japanese starter who made appearance in this round.
He is supposed to be the ace so makes sense
I still think it's wild that Nootbaar is half Japanese and allowed to play for Japan. But anyway, let's go Nooooooot!
I love the Australian pitcher doesn't even look at the whereabouts of the ball that was crashed by Ohtani.😂
Needs to believe in himself a little more. I would say i wish we had hendricks, but i'd rather him at home or wherever he is getting better and recovering. Wish him well

Good Luck 👍 🇱🇰

Yamamoto was insane, 8 k’s in 4 innings. Japan is legit.
Probably he'll go to MLB after 2023 season.
I am Japanese. Nootbaar is very popular in Japan now. Defensively full of fighting spirit, good batting, running bases with all his might, and a cheerful and friendly personality. He is now an integral part of the Japanese national team. It's hard to go back to America after the WBC is over. I love nootbaar because he has a really good personality. I'm worried that he might get hurt by being too enthusiastic about the WBC.
Japanese culture is so polite. I am thankful for the home run just so fans could share in the excitement. (They are looking at the ball as if it dropped glowing from the sky tho.) 😅
Thank you for saying so. Australian is polite as well.
That’s because it did
lots of asian hate crimes in australia ....go watch the news
Like in 🇺🇲 too, if is an important homerun, the ball can cost millions. 😁 Thats polite also.

Ohtani hit that home run ball so hard in the 1st inning you could see the pitchers soul go with it but if you're gonna give up a 3 run home run don't feel too bad if Ohtani is the one you gave it up to
Japanese team is the toughest to beat. They are just too good. 👏
Team japan is too strong in WBC. Pitchers have incredible pitching speed and ball control. I dont have any idea any other countries beat Japan.
That is because unlike the Americans, their best players care more about winning for their country than for a professional club. For them the biggest achievement is to be WORLD Champions with their national team. Then their second biggest achievement is to win the MLB world series. Not the other way around. American Players only care about their professional clubs. Never about their country
