Losing to a country where probably less than 1% of population cared about this game has got to hurt Korean baseball fans
And yet that's the beauty of the sport. There's a global reach and games like these do that much more to elevate the popularity within a given country. Great back-and-forth game!
It's definitely still a minority sport by far here (football and basketball the more popular American sports), but baseball is actually undergoing a bit of a surge in Australia. I think we have close to 30 in the MLB minor leagues
Unfortunately the Korean baseball league has been declining ever since 2009 WBC. The league overexpanded and overpaid to the point that there was less competition between skilled players. Even the fans noticed the lack of fighting spirit, with predictable tactics and an overload of errors. The 2013 and 2017 editions and the 2020 Olympics are the proof of this mess.
@@jeremywohlfart2323 Australia is about the only country I've seen that plays both baseball and cricket on a highly competitive level.
Actually, does anyone know if any other Test nations besides AUS, NZ, and SA also play international baseball on a high level?

나름 열심히 한다고 했지만, 교만하더군요. 인격됨이 나쁜게 아니라, 한국 사람들은 남을 좀 깔보는 경향이 있어요. 야구에서도. 전세계가 자기들 중심으로 돈다고 생각하는 것이 남한 국민들 사고방식.
괜히 레져라고 불리우는 게 아니죠.. 실력은 고만고만 술판, 도백판, 여자까지..

Kang Baek-ho's mistake is not just a mistake. Because he wasn't serious about baseball. The Australian second baseman did his best until the end and caught the outcount, while the Korean player thought it was too easy.
He is way out of 'The Professional'. He Got himself a bonehead for sure.

@@jlace8311 Rugby has a pretty big culture at the collegiate level in the US. I started playing for my college club back in 2013 and I still play for a local men's club here in San Antonio, Texas.
Sadly we are not very well represented at the professional or international level. Our international sevens side is at least competitive due to their speed

근데 절실한건 팬들 뿐이었나봐 ㅋㅋ 감독부터 호주전 쉽게하고 일본전 집중하겠다고 입털고있으니 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 기자들도 호주전은 안물어보고 한일전만 앵무새처럼 물어보질않나... 오늘경기 얘들이 얼마나 호주 우습게보는지 알겠더라, 9회 에드먼 출루 이후 번트는 커녕 강공과 도루시도로 허망하게 사망하는거 보면 ㅋㅋ 진지하게 상대가 미국 일본이었으면 강공을 밀고갔을까? 그냥 호주니까 우습게보고 밀어붙이니까 진거지 ㅋㅋㅋ 크보 씹억은 투수들은 홈런 공장장이 되어있고 참ㅋㅋㅋ 크보는 이제 끝인것같다

As a Baseball fan from New Zealand this is close as it gets for me to support my own team at the World classics. I'm proud of the Aussie team baseball isn't recognized enough over there what with rugby league, Cricket, rugby union, AFL, soccer and basketball. But Australia are competitive no matter what sport it is.
As a Dominican 🇩🇴 where the country plays mostly baseball and basketball with gymnastics and Rugby too, other sports. New Zealand can still qualify fot WBC but they aren't close yet. They always lose every qualifers..
Australia 🇦🇺 still can play baseball. Cricket being popular there helps make baseball more relevant and consistent there. But those guys can hit on the Aussie team
