isaac patting the bench for nate to sit next to him is such a subtle yet powerful depiction of character growth. i love this show with all my heart.
I love how this show treats every character with respect and like they all are the main act
Just noticed how Roy look at him, at that moment he knew who the next cap will be.
@@ricoselkum oh gosh, you’re absolutely right. that just makes it even more heartwarming :’)
I never thought I'd be able to pick a favorite tv show since I love so many out there, but I was wrong, Ted Lasso is without a doubt my favorite show of all time, with Invincible as a close 2nd (Gotta spread the love)
"Oops, innit?"
Love the way he goes on weird tangents that makes you connect with him on a human level. What a show.
Absolutely goated show
That’s what southerns do, I’m one of them for sure. It’s a rhetorical tool we use to relate.
@@TexasTeaHTX on the other room is Neil Warnock giving his Southampton speech
Bill Lawrence has taken Dr. Cox rants to a whole new level.
horrible show. its not funny. you people just have low standards.
I love that Ted Lasso understood and lovingly embracing his role as a manager with more emphasis on people/personal management, while at the same time gladly delegates the coaching of a more technical aspects to coach beard. Classic two-man manager/coach/gaffer.
Also like he says he has little influence on the game when it happens
Any coaching staff needs balance. You need someone who players can relate to and confide in, someone to help build them up. However, you also need a hard ass who gives them shit when they screw up and doesn't have to be nice about it. Maybe add in a good X's and O's guy to round it out. A good head coach realizes which of those roles is natural for him, and then gets himself a staff who can fill the other roles. The worst is when a coach only brings on assistants who see things the exact same way he does. Terrible idea.
@@KS-xk2so which is what we have at Richmond at the end of S2. Ted; the man manager who has built unity, spirit and belief in the team through his personal charm, who the players have bought into and support. Roy; the mean hard arse who's got the playing experience, he's mean and tough but also experienced, knows how it feels to play on the pitch and sit in the locker room and how to get over the hurdles. And finally Beard; who is the knowledgable coach, the one who has almost certainly taught himself the rules and tactics down to the fine print so he understands the tactical side of the game even without having played it himself.
Meanwhile Nate at West Ham will only ever see things his way and won't tolerate anyone telling him differently. He's the tactical genius, he understands the game just by watching it unlike Beard who has to read and learn. But he lacks the man management of Ted, the self improvement of Beard and the ferocity and experience of Roy, the combination of which will cost him. His players will fall out with him, doubt him and question him. In response, he will double down on his chosen path and ultimately lose the dressing room.
It also helps when the second in charge (beard) has no ego and is happy in his role, likes the 2 man dynamic and doesn't want to be the solo manager
Sounds like Gareth Southgate
I love the way he said after a moment of silence: "Fellas, we've broken, we need to change". It sounded extremely convincing
The way he’s so nice throughout his speech then gets everyone to look at him before smashing the believe sign was amazing as well, actually is great man management
horrible show. its not funny. you people just have low standards.
Anyone else get annoyed by the "popup video suggestions" that block the screen the last 20 seconds?
Extremely
Profusely
Jes
Yup
Yes
1:53 I think about this a lot. Might be my favorite moment of the entire show.
MINE TOO! I think about that moment a lot.
What time frame in the real episode is this?
Thought I was the only one who thought about this all the time…
Miss Scanlon was a real middle school art teacher! And yes, she was a fine woman! Way to go, Sudeikis! Bringing in that Sahwnee Mission Pride!
I love the bit where he says "she was a striking woman"
That's the moment you know he's just winging the speeches and speaking from the heart
1:10 seeing Roy Kent with a massive smile on his face is both amazingly heartwarming and somehow unsettling 😂😂
Few years from now these clips will have a million hits..
Took just a year :)
These are the type of shows that really blow up 2-3 years after they start. When people can binge the whole series at once.
I never thought anyone could top Coach Taylor from Friday Night Lights, but damnit if Ted Lasso did. I love this show and his talks are exactly what I need at times. Amazing work and writing. Cannot wait for more.
2 all time classics
Different style. Coach taylor is the macho guy, a yeller screamer and will kick your ass, but with heart of gold. Whereas ted is just all around wholesome human being
My favorite moment of season 1. As a coach I have nothing but mad respect to the writers.
I love Isaac's nod like "Lady football, both mistress and longtime lover".
you know the speech is powerful when Roy smile at it
If you see at 1:10… the men laughing. Jason probably improved the line “first time seeing Tan Lines”. I. Efffing. Love… This Show. Definitely down in the books with one of the best sitcoms in history. 20 Emmy Nod’s and it’s streaming. Not regular tv 👏👏👏👏
Scotty Bowman, once talked about how he was told “In a crucial moment, if you can ever get your team to laugh.” This was prime example of that.
The writing for this show continues to leave me astonished.
“Good save” lol
I know its not often talked about, but in all of Ted's glory of buiding the mental health and individual player quality his other actual amazing ability as a coach is shown here ever so subtlety.
Before this episode we have been given evidence that everyone sees Sam as a defender. Including diehard fan Rupert and the guys at the pub. (Put obasanya on defense where he belongs).... But Ted sees Sam for what he truly could be. An out and out midfielder who can create opportunities from the wing. And while Ted may not know the exact details of what he sees this small change of moving Sam to the mdifield completely changed the man's career. In season three we see that Sam is considered one of the absolute best players in the premier league, a feat he probably never reaches on defense even as an overlapping back.
What an amazing show. The details are soooo good.
The smile on Roy’s face when Ted said ‘…tan lines’ was the best. Bang. They’ll kill for him now.
Probably an improvised line, this show is the best!
For someone who just got dumped by a girl for her abusive ex, I find this speech miraculously touching and relatable. Obviously, here the "her" is really her and no matter what changes life brought to you, you gotta embrace them instead of fighting the why's and what if's.
The only way to recovery is the way forward.
Sorry about that man. There's a better woman out there for you. Keep your chin up.
❤’d your comment as much as any Lasso speech. Well said
Embracing change and being brave. Believe!
Advertising other clips at the end takes away from the impact of this scene.
The little finger point from Isaac after the "Lady Football" was too funny.
I think Ted Lasso could motivate me to do just about anything. Great show.
Tactics: Arteta
Team motivation: Sir Alex Ferguson
Lol yeah
Looks like Arteta heard you talkin shit
Another quite brilliant scene from a quality show.
Funniest series I’ve seen in years.
Roy Kent smile spotting!
This may be one of the best television (streaming) shows on mental health ever produced.
I adore the score on this show.
very nice, General praise: "This is awesome!", "Wow, this is so cool!", "Love it!", "Great job!" Highlighting specifics: "I loved the editing in this video", "This made me laugh so hard!", "Your [skill] is amazing!", "The music choice is perfect!" Encoura
Alot of subtle things in this scene. Issac offering his seat to Nate, Roy seeing it., which is likely why he gave Issac the Captain's band later in season.
I love Roy’s lack of self-awareness sometimes. “I never really liked tart” did you think nobody noticed😂 or when he had to think about where his niece was learning foul language from then he realizes it’s him
Thanks Ted
The "Lady Football" track is just beautiful.
And I want everyone's eyes on me when I say this. (Doesn't say anything) BAM!
I cannot wait for Season 3! I need season 3.
Maybe we all need season 3.
1:09 kinda hit me where I wasn’t expecting. Profound thought.
If anyone would like to know my favourite part of this show, it’s whichever part of whichever scene I happen to be watching
Best one liner is when beard says "RONALD REAGAN? THE ACTOR?"
@@ronnie7712 but if only he had quoted the next line from back to the future “and who’s the Vice President, Jerry Lee Lewis.”
Could you share this video with me, with out the ad blocking the screen. Hitting the believe sign is the most impactful part
I'm always thinking why a team this solid is not on top of the league, I mean.. In first season it shown that Their bond with one and another is very strong, every player have a good skills, even tho the main coach Ted Lasso didn't really understand about football but learn and very very good at motivating, uniting, raising the morals.. Not only to the players, but also the other coaches and the club staffs.. And then finally in Season 3 I was happy the club was on top of league...
Thank you Ted Lasso ❤️
Still surprised Lasso didn’t try to introduce a half-time show to the sport.
This material acts as a catalyst to new ways of thinking. A book I read with akin topics was a key part of my intellectual journey. "The Art of Meaningful Relationships in the 21st Century" by Leo Flint
Thanks to all the Miss Scanlons who helped us realize we were becoming men.
the popup that blocks the last 16 seconds is making me delete this from my favorites. It's the best part of the clip and it's blocked. No way to remove it. Sucks...
not the giant video popping up at the end, covering ted completely so i cant see him smack the absolute piss outta that sign
for a show about futbol I'd think the actual futbol moments would be so much better
"I want everyone's eyes on me when I say this, look at me".
Doesn't say anything for the rest of the scene
What episode is this? Can’t remember!
SO1E5
Gonna need a Faz update here.
could someone reply with which episode/season this was in? I'd like to find the transcript.
Love Jessie marche
episode number?
Funny he wouldn’t have the job if Rebecca didn’t hire him as a jab at her ex husband.
How do you remove the Jamie gets the signal image from this video. It comes up at the best part of the speech
Ted Lasso has officially replaced Seinfeld as the funniest show on TV.
first time I saw tan lines
Does anyone know what the name of this piano solo is during the speech??
The thumbnail ruined the whole moment. Damn
SO1E5
which episode is this one?
SO1E5
Ugh is there one of these where the best part of the scene isn’t ruined by an early title card right in the middle of the damn shot?
Which episode is that?
I think 9
Episode 5 "Tan Lines"
@@jbwaits1973 thanks mate
Yay!!! I was the 300th subscriber!!!!!!! Can i pls get heart or pin?????? Love vids!
this looks like a bad show
Thought so too. You're wrong
Thought so too. Binged the whole season in 2 days. Its terrific.
Looks bad, actually good.
On paper, this show has no business working.
It works.
@Kevin L This reply puts it so well-lined with the philosophy of the show. Love this and I appreciate you :)
How the fuck do people watch this
So. Over. Rated. I can't even buy in for a second. It's all cliche, a terrible accent, over-acted, and as basic as it gets on screen.
It's his own accent. He's from Kansas. He's not the only one acting. And richer drama from 2 minutes 16 seconds than you'll get anywhere else.
