We could do without the annoying commentaries in the video. Just give us the lines
"Boy, I love meeting people's moms. It's like reading an instruction manual as to why they're nuts"
ahhaaha had forgotten this one XD
Was hoping someone else was thinking of that line. It’s my favorite
Especially love how immediately Beard starts screeching
It’s true that’s why I like parent teacher conference nights In TV and movies it’s just a sense of understanding there
W
"Be curious, not judgemental."
Is arguably the best quote in a TV show.
YES, THIS!!!!
Agreed. That whole scene is one of the best in a tv show 👍
The ironic part of that quote is Ted misattributing it to Walt Whitman.
Whitman never said this. The origin of the phrase is unknown, so for all intents and purposes we can say they're Ted's words. I like that better given how fantastic that scene is.
It is very good advice and a terrific scene but, as other commenters have noted, Whitman never wrote or said it. But since it is at least good advice, I rank it better than another notorious misattribution, "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you've imagined," supposedly by Henry David Thoreau. This quotation is (at best) a garbled paraphrase of what he actually wrote in _Walden_, and as used/interpreted in the TV commercial that started it -- by an investment house to say they could lead you to live a luxurious life in retirement -- would make Thoreau roll over in his grave.
That's what she said.
Ted Lasso was such an unexpected suprise. I wasn’t going to watch it, thought the premise was ridiculous. But I heard so much praise that I decided to give it a go. What a treat! So much more than a silly comedy. I should’ve been curious, not judgemental.
Haha same! I expected not to like it, but after the 2nd episode I was totally hooked.
I watched a whole bunch of RUclips clips and then I told myself why I just watch this show and I love it. It is so good I have watched it a second time and will watch it again and again.
That's quote #1 for me!
You sound like a changed person. ☺
Actually inspiring show and quotes
My favorite quote of the show: “I try to love my dad for who he is and forgive him for who he isn't.”
Yesss. I was trying to find this quote. It resonated with me and it stuck with me.
"I hope that either of us or none of us are judged by the actions of our weakest moments, but rather by the strength we show when and if we are ever given a second chance" Ted Lasso. That is the quote I believe sums it all up.
How did you leave out "Doin' the right thing is never the wrong thing".....love that
LOVED that one
So many good quotes thats why its a top show
The fact that Sudeikis can embody someone so utterly positive oh so convincingly while undergoing marital problems just like Ted blows me away.
The Darts scene is one of the greatest scenes in TV history.
It’s absolutely my favorite. ❤️
That quote about never quitting anything in his life makes so much sense now
The goldfish one is great. But imo the "curious not judgmental" should be the #1 quote. It sums up the entire show and Ted as a person
I'm a teacher and I finally caught this show over Christmas. It's brilliant and so positive. I felt I was in a bit of a rut but this show has helped reinvigorate my love for my job due to the way Ted conducts himself in the way he relates to others and how he coaches them. I have 'Be Curious Not Judgemental' up in my classroom, 'Believe in Believe' is due to go up and I've told a few of my kids to 'Be a goldfish' when they hold onto something.
Its so growth mindset and so positive
the goldfish one is fine, until they need to remember stuff for a test.
Other great quotes from Ted Lasso:
- “The truth will set you free, but first it’ll piss you off.”
- “Our greatest fears are like dragons guarding our deepest treasure.”
That first one is especially good imo
that was Dr Sharon who said that
@@fchillaxing it’s from a known book which the show took it from, but yeah that one means a lot
Since watching Ted the phrase "I appreciate you/that/what you did" has crept into my daily life. Powerful message.
I watched the first episode not knowing what I was getting myself into. Not only did I die laughing but this show really helped during a dark time when I could’ve really used some extra optimism. Can’t really say that about many other TV shows. Anyone who’s going through a tough time just check it out, you just might learn something.
Agreed
I just love this show. On my 5th watch
Watched season 1 in one of the darkest moment of my life.
I was feeling sad and helpless, but Ted really made me laugh and give me a sense of positive happiness.
I know this is a specific Ted quotes list, but Roy’s whole piece to Rebecca about not settling on “fine,” is really poignant.
"You deserve someone who makes you feel like you’ve been struck by fucking lightning. Don't you dare settle for fine." -Roy Kent
"You're a great man. Does she make you greater?" -Leslie Higgins
These two quotes, at least in my eyes, are like peanut butter and jelly. You are amazing, and you deserve to be with someone who makes you happy and inspires you to be even greater than you are. Don't settle for someone who makes you miserable or someone who makes you a worse person.
Love this show and deserved every win at the Emmys.
"no one should get judged on the actions of their lowest moments, but rather the strength they show when and if they are given a second chance". That quote really hit deep.
I strive to be more like Ted lasso every day.
❤️❤️❤️
“Living in the moment, it’s a gift. That’s why they call it the present”
That was the turtle in Kunfu panda.
@@ricoselkum Master Oogway, you uncultured swine
once heard this show described being like a nice warm hug from a loved one. never a truer description of a TV show has ever been made
I'm going through a very rough time in my life, one of the lowest. Revisiting this video and listening to this quotes, really helped. This whole show is like a warm hug, that turns specially warm when you need it the most
Ted Lasso helped me work on being a better coach, father, boss, brother, and all around better person.
Thank you, nice work on this video, but here's one I think it deserves being mentioned (season 2) : "The truth will set you free, but at first, it will piss you off"
Dr Sharon made that comment not Ted
I cried THE ENTIRE 15 minutes of this video. This is why I love Ted Lasso.
Yep.
Who tf cries at this lmao💀
CRIED???!!
"FOOTBALL IS LIFE!"
- Dani Rojas
How does that not make the list even if not by Ted Lasso?
Parent Teacher Conference with Roy was HILARIOUS!!! His niece called one of the other students a pathetic shit fucker...Roy says Is he? And the Teacher says Oh God Yes!!!!!
When his son asks him “what’s a wanker?”
“That’s a man that needs to be alone with his thoughts”
That's a callback to his initial introduction on the NBC Sports network.
“Barbecue sauce”
*hits a bullseye*
One of my favorites
“I hope that either all of us or none of us are judged by the actions of our weakest moments, but rather by the strength we show when and if we’re ever given a second chance”
My favorite quote is "You guys need to woman up because manning up has gotten you here"... or something like that
Mine is more of a moment
“We don’t not care, we care very much”
“We care about who you are and what you must’ve been going through”
“But hey from now on you don’t have to go through it all by yourself”
Totally hit the nail on the head with the comment about emotions running the gambit. I can't remember another show I've seen where I'm laughing out loud one moment, then getting all misty eyed not 10 minutes later. Everything about this show is just magical.
Sam's dad after his restaurant getting vandalized: "Do not fight back. Fight forward"
Ted Lasso is one of the rare shows that regularly has left me saying wow in regards to its writing
“Every disadvantage has an advantage” by Rebecca. That one was one of the best
At least as an Honorable Mention, I'd have added Roy Kent's line to Ted after arguing about his resigning as Team Captain, "This is why it's hard to love you," and then Ted and Coach Beard's reaction: "You heard it right?" "He loves you!"
This is one of those shows where I start watching and I like to think I'm like Ted. As the show goes on, I realize I'm Roy and I should probably get counseling
An underrated quote IMO: “I hope that either all of us, or none of us, are judged by actions of our weakest moments, but rather the strength we show when and if we’re given a second chance:).
So easy to just blindly hate on Nate by the end of Season II but it's so complex...and yes - he went off the deep end, quick...and he's a little jerk but there's some serious issues that guys is facing and navigating. Such an awesome character and storyline
it's such a well written show. The writers are amazing.
The judgmental/curiosity scene was MY number one quote segment!
Watched this during my separation, and this was such a delight to watch. This show got me completely hooked, sad when it ended, but such a beautiful ending to a fantastic series xx
It's so hard to watch this knowing the misery Jason Sudekis was going through in his personal life. I hope he takes his character to heart and gets through it.
Ted Lasso to me feels like a modern Mr. Rogers, I love the darts be curious, not judgmental.
Ted Lasso was one of the shows that got us through the pandemic isolation. Truly one of the best TV shows ever.
I really love the positivity that comes from Ted. It feels sincere and that is a rarity found these days
"barbecue sauce" that line is so fundamentally understood.
This show gave me what star trek usually gives me: doing what's right, even when nobody wants you to do it, and finding delight and wonder in life and what the future can be ❤❤❤❤
Just love this show! Football and comedy, what more can we ask for...
I binge watch this wonderful awesome show in one day and night. The show shows us important things in life. Can’t wait till season 3 and beyond.
TED LASSO makes my cry every time I watch his show!! LOVE this show! ❤️❤️❤️🔥❤️🔥🔥
Knowing the origins of Ted Lasso, I was half-expecting sayings like "Where ya been?" and "Quit cheatin'."
The only thing about this show that I don’t like is that it won’t go on forever. Ted makes me feel good about SOMETHING in every show.
Excellent show. Season 2 finale was slightly difficult but it’s a refreshingly fun, original, and addictive show with great perspective.
Yes.. The season 2 finale was rough. But I think it is setting Season 3 up to be amazing. I am looking forward to Nate's arc in season 3.
Please do one on Rebecca’s character too. She’s the rock that holds the ship tight!
We're doing a video about her best moments that we'll be publishing tomorrow :)
This is how Mr Rogers would coach a team.
"when I chose to lie to you, I denied myself the opportunity to build trust with you. That is my fault" greatest one.
Are we not going to talk about how GORGEOUS Rebecca is!!??
You're amazing let's invade France
@@looney1023 You must be German. That was their motto in WW2.
I love Jamie’s “It’s all poopy, let it flow”
Be a goldfish....love it.
i am SO going to use this in my next job interview!
"taking on a challenge is like riding a horse; if you're comfortable while doing it, you're probably doing it wrong"
My favourite (which I use extensively when on my own) is from Roy Kent : Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuk ! Gawd, I LOVED this show ! ❤
I thought I wouldn't be interested in this show because I'm not much into sports in general, but I love this show! I just finished Season 2 last night - so good!
"Doing the right thing is never the wrong thing." Really...what can be better than that?
Love, love, love Ted Lasso…hope they do more than 3 seasons!
As a manager of a company that is one of the most knowledgeable people in my field that has ptsd and two special needs kids! This speaks to me!
“What have I got to learn here?” from the confrontation with Nate in S2 E12
This is a great series! Thoroughly enjoying this series. So glad someone recommended it to me.
“be curious. not judgemental.”
should be NUMBER ONE.
EVERY aspect of the show, from the plot points, to the characters, to the show itself shouldn’t be JUDGED.
This whole show makes me smile. Love how positive it is. I need this and hope to be more like this
Thanks for making this!! Ted Lasso is truly the show we needed during these trying times
Nicely done. Your comments mesh really well with those scenes and add lots of value. 💯
Just thinking about these just makes me shed a little tear in my eye
3:21 Coach Beard falling out of his chair is perfect. Their chemistry (his and Ted's) seems absolutely fantastic.
Never would I have guessed how much I'd come to appreciate this show. The original idea was fun but seemed like crazy to make it a full series. Glad I was wrong about that.
The show we never knew we needed!!!!! #FootballisLife ⚽️
AppleTV+ is pretty much garbage, in my opinion.
Ted Lasso, however, is an absolute collection of genius acting; genius writing and genius timing.
I don’t expect to ever see anything match this show!
Great job by all involved!
Give Servant a watch if you haven’t seen it. Slow burning and tense with incredible acting. Rupert Grint (Ron from Harry Potter) plays a key role and does so with great effectiveness.
How's foundation? The graphics look great
@@tamarleahh.2150 I’ve only seen the first two episodes, and some of the visuals are stunning. Though I’ve been slightly disappointed so far. I felt there are large periods within the two episodes that have been dull & lacking real meaning, especially since the show is moving at breakneck pace (lots of jumping ahead).
Regardless, there have been some interesting turns already, but still unsure on whether I’ll be a regular viewer or not.
Garbage not anymore. It’s catalog is pretty great actually.
Everything always works out in the end - this is a quote I have lived by for years! I loved hearing it in the show! FYI - It is originally a John Lennon quote, which just makes it even better when Ted expounds on it. ❤️
This isn't related but when it shows that makes those biscuits for Rebecca every night it made my heart beat softer.
I sobbed at his divorce scene when he let her go , words can't express how hard it hit me
N don't forget the fucking sweetest shit ever is their deal when they say Oklahoma 😭
I know it’s not a Lasso quite and therefore doesn’t fit in this chart. But ‘Don’t you dare settle for fine’! Yes!
Ted Lasso is amazing!!!!
I am only through the first one but his Allen iverson to jamie was great and his Hoosiers before Manchecter United was great
My favourite is when he says to Jamie 'you're so big on the fact that you're one in a million that out there on the pitch you forget that you're just one of eleven' It's something like that but I loved that line
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! BEST TV, WRITERS, ACTORS AND SHOW -HATE THAT ITS COMING TO AN END AFTER SEASON 3
My fav quote of this show is said by Coach Beard... when advising Roy about Keeley, coach Beard only has a line in that scene: "Grow up, and get over it"
Ted, calmly: "Coach, tell 'em what the first rule of my fight club is-"
Beard, screeching: "NO FIGHT CLUB!"
Ted, still calmly: "No fight club, that's right."
One of my favourite scenes.
Love this! My favorite, the power of Belief at 2:29 minutes in
Love love love the show. Believe is my motto but not as a goldfish! Haha
His goldfish idea is soo good, i've taken it on
It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities. - John Obi-Wan Gandalf -
Not a Ted quote per se, but definitely a highlight of the show for me: Roy’s “You deserve someone who makes you feel like you’ve been struck by fucking lightning” to Rebecca.
Need someone to make a compilation of all the quotes about love
Billy Joel and ice cream has to be the best haha.
Thanks ms mojo for taking the time to do videos like these. Keep them comin
“Guys have underestimated me my entire life and for years I never understood why - it used to really bother me. Then one day I was driving my little boy to school, and I saw a quote by Walt Whitman, it was painted on the wall there and it said, ‘Be curious, not judgmental.’ I like that.” (Ted throws a dart.)
“So, I get back in my car and I’m driving to work and all of a sudden it hits me - all them fellas that used to belittle me, not a single one of them was curious. You know, they thought they had everything all figured out, so they judged everything, and they judged everyone. And I realized that their underestimating me - who I was had nothing to do with it. Because if they were curious, they would’ve asked questions. Questions like, ‘Have you played a lot of darts, Ted?’” (Ted throws another dart.)
“To which I would have answered, ‘Yes sir. Every Sunday afternoon at a sports bar with my father from age ten until I was 16 when he passed away.’ Barbecue sauce.” (Ted throws a double bullseye to win the game.)
I love this show. Maybe a movie?
Amazing
I love this show.
