Fun episode. Would like to see a breakdown of costs that went into fixing up each car and what you made off each. Discounting your labor, what was the parts cost (and paying someone to paint a bumper, re-do the convertable top?

The Evo carbon fiber hood was about $800+ unless they get some sort of discount.....On a flip, if the hood paint was trashed or hood dented. I could see how just buying a cf hood would be a win win especially if you could find a used one for much cheaper.

This doesn't work unless you're a big RUclipsr. They had sponsors and other things that made it a real trade up. I guarantee you they only made a couple grand per car. But it was entertaining.
It would have been cool to get a total cost breakdown for each car just to know what you guys put into each car to fix them.

It's basically gonna be equivalent to the low tier ferrari they're going for.
The nice thing about these video's is that naïve people believe that shit. :) And make fun of them. The only one that would have made a profit is probably the BMW. The Subaru probably not. All in all just little to no profit if you take in account parts + labor. But hey, the video with 342K views makes a lot more money. Did you know??? That's where the MONEY is at. Not at trading it up.

After watching Samcrac videos of salvage yard auction Ferrari builds. I think their best bet would be to- keep the body & interior but do an engine/drivetrain swap & sell the Ferrari engine/drivetrain similar to what StanceWorks did.

Ricky is a gem. Knowing how to tear down and clean brakes and other car components as well as full detailing, really hard to find a guy with his talent.
Really enjoyed that episode, gave you that buzz to know it doesn't take long to restore a car, sadly it does and this was over a long time but something that lifts you and gives you drive to get back in the shop and work on your own project is an awesome thing, thanks guys

I bought my current sedan e46 for $300 and my old convertible (same spec as one in the video) for about 4500, I call bs
This must have been really low miles but looking at the condition it was in I doubt it. But seriously doubt that was a real number. Maybe because of all the modifications he did but those still dont make it worth 12k. Even with a turbo kit or exhaust upgrade it wouldn't be worth 12k because modifications are hardly ever factored into prices/regular people don't care about them.
Damn this is sick! Good choice Evan. In my opinion the 355 Berlinetta is one of the most beautiful models by Ferrari in the 90's and my personal favorite of this era. Can't wait to see the overhaul and you guys give it the special Throtl touches. 🤩😍👍

@@BurkStah They threw rims on it which could have increase the value a lot on top of the service, not 12k though, but I don't think the average buyer even cares about that since it's cosmetic. It also had a misfire, who knows if the last owner didn't have any clue of how to fix that and thought the car was as good as a shell. But the prices are probably fake

Eh looked pretty mint and it ran well after they were done I'd say closer to 4-6 in todays economy depending on the mileage. If they hadn't done all of the BS like putting rims on it or whatever they could have had way better margins

Did you coat the headlights after polishing them? In germany your car loses its registration, because the lights are coated and if you lose the coating they turn yellow even fastery

Yes it's a really common thing on old BMW's that are neglected. The gaskets on some of them can be 20-30 years old because the owners don't know to service their cars and the rubber gets hard and crusty. For gaskets to have a seal they have to be flexible to create a proper seal.
Awesome to see these cars brought back for people to enjoy. Took some basket cases and made them nice again.
And what about the cost for all the repair and replacement parts, wheels etc plus the labour?

Use CeraKote c series on you next build. Great for the manifolds, turbines, exhaust, and brakes. Clear coat over it to get a shine, but note the clear reduces its heat.

It always amazes me when I see the negligence of rich car owners who let them waste away, or the other side of the coin the one who lets a classic rot only to find out it's worth more than his house was when he bought it. Having a team of top notch shop friends is like having a printing press that only prints money. Good job guys !!!
that method of restoring headlights makes them fog up again within a few months if not weeks, you have to re-apply clearcoat to the plastic after sanding down.
Rebuild that one for boost if you end up pulling it to do repairs. It’s almost always fixing what you already have if possible
Ultimate compound is okay but it's oil-based so whenever using a buffer don't use too much of it otherwise it just slings off everywhere and it's really hard to get off specifically trim. And ultimate compound is not the ultimate solution for the headlights because it just goes away with time and the headlights keep yellowing so it's a never-ending battle on keeping your headlights clear instead you could just do that and then ceramic coat them

dont you need to also clear paint headlights after polishing them?
