Had a chance to do a small job of recoating over shingles. The shingles were warn and some were missing from the wind. We rolled on a primer first let it dry about 3 hours then we rolled on the top coat. we do this to extended the live of the roof. There is no tear off or any more holes put in the exciting roof. stay cool and stay sexy
I have lived in the US all my life, but I have traveled to a few different countries. In all the country’s that I have been in I fell in love with the republic, (Philippines) the food, people and the culture not to mention the provinces and mountains. Thai land coming in second. I love to travel and see all what a new place has to offer. I love the outdoors so a lot of my videos will be about nature that includes human nature when I can get it. So come alone with me on my adventures, and my everyday life. Hope you find some of my adventures insisting to you. Some of the beast adventures are not climbing Mount Everest but just everyday life as we humans strive to be better people and co exists and survive on this planet.

Shingle coating is an excellent product, and despite what roofers say, it greatly extends the life of your roof. I wouldn't recommend using a roller to apply it though. A pressure paint gun is better because it essentially guarantees to fill in between the shingles. The roller has the tendency of pulling up the applied asphalt armour as you roll back and forth with it, but overall you did a great job.
Did you replace the missing shingles and what are the names of both products, (primer & second coat) used in this video?
That's what I was afraid of. When you look from the ground the shingles look like one solid sheet of color loosing the individual definitions that we all want to see. It seams like a good idea but. I can't get passed that one thing. Anyone else have any ideas about how to resolve that issue?
This stuff is terrible for your roof. It looks great for a few months but the shingles can no longer expand and contract once sealed causing them to dry and break apart even faster.
What products did you use?
What's your perspective on applying up in northern climates like Michigan? Are you only applying in southern dry climates? Are you using the Conklin Prime Time as the primer? Which Uniflex products are you using, the Premium Elastomertic Roof Coating or Silicone? What's your take on the silicone roof coatings? Thanks for sharing!
What type of primer was it
This is cool. We install something similar so yeah it will work when done correctly. Two things to consider: Your shingle warranty will be voided so check that out first (rarely do they follow through) second insurance companies do not like this and may not cover any loss if water damage is present or occurs after the install.
how is it holding up after 7 years? i'm in the process of applying elastonertic roof coating and i'd be happy if it last 7-10 years. thnaks for sharing.
The manufacturer reps don’t recommend this.
So, it's primer, then coating. Nice.
Will this work if shingles are already starting to seperate and grit is coming off? To be more specific, roof got hail damage when I noticed the grit all over the ground. Since then I have been losing a shingle or two every now and then from wind or real heavy rain.
If you're missing a patch of shingles at high altitude in Colorado near the siding under and overhang can you just patch the missing shingle spot with rubber coating?
I used Henry's Roof Savers and it's thinner but hold up well ( been three months ) .
What are the products you are using, which primer and coat? Links will help. Thanks
You need wayyyyy more.
This is a great idea. I have a small cottage in the mountains and would love to extend the roof life. If this is just primer and paint/coating, where do I purchase it in the US?
What type of primer did you use. Also I see the video is 5 year back can you tell what’s the status on the single after 5 years.
Hello how are you what kind of paint is that?? Can we find diferent colors?
Can you tell me what you used as Primer, all the ones ive seen are black or like Thompson water seal clear .
