  • Parting Wings is a master key self-defense technique that is taught for purple belt (base technique) and 1st degree black belt (extension) in the 24-technique system of American Kenpo. The technique works for a two-hand push from the front.

Another great video - always liked this technique. I got to second brown but my instructor did show me at least some of this extension and I swear it was moving forward, not away like textbook (I remember that rear crossover with the accompanying strike after the hammer fist to the nose).

Thanks, David. Yes, textbook extension is to step to 6 o'clock into a right front crossover when you do the right back knuckle strike. Glad you liked it.

The content of your video is great but your sound is very difficult to hear. But I'm glad to be a new subscriber to your channel. Keep on creating good content.

Thanks for your kind words, Terio. The sound may not be ideal because of the angle we are on, but we tried to be on an angle where someone watching could see all the strikes.

I was thinking the same thing about the extension except if he comes back up after the all ou nose smash...I'm running because he's one tough SOB!
