OMG! I've been searching for this for YEARS!!!! You cannot even buy it! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I believe this was made in 2008, which the last Christmas we had with my sister. She passed away on December 19, 2009... and my father a few weeks later. When we'd all get together or talk on the phone, my sister and father would sing the song - 🎶Christmas is just around the corner!🎶 Christmastime was, and still is, a very special time for us... Thank you for giving us this gift! 🎁
@MrOrange, Bless your heart. Thank you. Kind of you to say... I thought losing my mom was difficult... Losing my sister and my father within weeks of each other... Hands down the worst three week period that my entire family had to endure...
I know how that is; one year, my cousin died 11 months to the day, and on Christmas my grandmother died. I wasn't alive yet when those things happened, but I know about them from family members. The earlier one esp. hit my aunt hard, as she *loved* children. Then my parents gave my sister, Stephanie, the same middle name and cousin Teresa (Teresa is the cousin's name.) To sum it up, if anyone were to say Teresa is in *Hell* right now because she never accepted Christ, I demand that they *go* to Hell, get evidence to prove their claim, and then return. My belief is in the concept of the Age of Innocence and the Age of Accountability; Teresa is, in this case, in Heaven , because she had not sinned at all, and had no chance at all of being capable of understanding things enough to *be able* to go to Jesus in prayer. I likewise believe that aborted children also are in Heaven, and that the gruesome way in which they tragically died *IS* murder and should be outlawed, under *strict* penalties. Ending on a positive note, I hope you and your sister and father see each other in the Rapture, as they would, in that case, be revived and you would go with them to a better life... :) Merry Christmas! ;)
I've never watched this movie before! It's the first time, today November 23rd 2024. It's an amazing movie with beautiful and meaningful story! It's really worth watching! Thank you for uploading it!
I am seeing this for the first time today (December 10, 2022). I discovered it because I went to a rock concert last night at a local club. Before the band started Christmas music was playing over the loudspeakers and the title song played. I found this film after looking the song up. This looks and feels like a Christmas special from around 1977 (when I was in seventh grade), especially with Barry Manilow narrating and singing two songs.
That’s a rare treat to see in high quality with the live action intro in the beginning of this video and this Ocean Spray & Film Roman musical special gift was originally aired right after “Mickey’s Christmas Special” as part of Freeform’s yearly 25 Days Of Christmas marathon on ABC Family in 2008.
Oh yes the good old days of watching timeless and wonderful Christmas cartoons on regular 📺 what a blessing that was and I enjoyed every minute of it too. Great memories and great times plus great entertainment. I wish things do not have to change and I wish everything could stay the same too. Miss watching all these great Christmas cartoons on television the way it use to be. Oh my goodness, throughout the 1980s and '90s they used to pack the television with all kind of Christmas cartoons and sometimes it was hard to watch all of them because they just had so much on back then and it was fun. Nowadays it doesn't even feel like Christmas anymore because they don't play them and if they do you're very lucky today as well. It's a shame that they don't and it's a shame that the younger generation will never know what we had back then.
I'm really glad this had been found but there's another scene that was not in this airing, but likely in a subsequent airing. Mr. Whiskers comes into Grandma's kitchen and she gives him some of the cranberry cookies and their recipe. She recites it and they put the ingredients list up on the screen too. Iirc it uses cranberries (maybe dried ones aka "craisins"), white chcolate chips, maybe some oats too. Plus probably some other staples like eggs, milk, flour, etc. I was almost going to take notes on this special but the recipe isn't in it. I wonder if the recipe section has been found yet...
Thank you so much. This is a tradition in my house and was only a vague distant memory we always talked about until we were able to share it because of you.
me and mom used to watch this EVERY year until it seemingly was up and gone. we went every possible route to find it even writing to oceanspray. u are a SAINT. i can't wait to show her it
Doesn't this guy narrating have the most wonderful voice. I'd reallllly love to hear him narrate some of the books I've been listening to on Audible 😂 On a serious note. I absolutely love the music and the story. It's great and Barry sounds fantastic.
I am glad you have posted this. I have been looking for this christmas special for yers ever since it was taken off abc family. Usually when I tried to search anything about Cranberry Christmas all I would be able to find is the song from this special. This was always a great christmas show to watch every year. I always looked forward to watching it with my family. This will be a good christmas.
I remember seeing this in a Christmas party at my school 6-7 years ago but I had little memory of it until I have heard it was completely lost, thank you for uploading it.
MrOrange I probably remember that it was either a dvd rip from a DVR or an officially licensed dvd Oceanspray distributed years ago and we are talking 2011 here, I was in 2nd grade at the time so like I said I don’t remember much of the movie but I think I remember seeing a dvd menu before the movie started,so there may have been an actual dvd that they released.
Thank you, thank you, thank you SO VERY MUCH for posting this! I loved this special and nobody airs it anymore and you can't buy it anywhere. Thank you so much!
Mr Grape should have been put in jail for damaging and trespassing Mr Whiskers home lol..Thanks for uploading this movie first time ever watching it! lol
I grew up reading the Devlin's Cranberry book series. Mr. Whiskers, Maggie and Grandma practically became part of my own family. It hurts to know that their stories aren't so well known anymore these days, and also knowing that this is the only animated adaptation they've ever had to date. Still, I feel blessed to have gotten the chance to see this obscure little gem. Thank you so much!
Me too! I never knew there was a movie. My book was passed on to my mother's former home health care aids children a few years ago, so it shall live on 😁
Yeah, well, welcome to Generation Illiterate where nobody knows about book franchises (and the ones they do know of, Hollywood has hyped beyond belief)
A year back I was in charge of taking inventory and packing up the art room for moving. While sorting through the magazines I saw an ad for this. Finally, I can put my curiosity to rest.
@@mrorange7534 Funny enough, I had the opportunity to record an airing of it in 2011, but passed up that opportunity because I didn't know what this Christmas special was at the time. I kind of wish I had recorded it now, because we could have had it archived about two years before it was uploaded if I had done that (because two years before this was uploaded is when I looked it up and found out that it was lost media). Any copy I would have recorded would have been pretty crap picture quality though.
Personally, I think that maybe it’s just about time that a live-action version for movie theatre screens needs to be made, and possibly filmed on location in the little known All-American small town of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, just west of Duluth. And through a cameo appearance by John Astin as Gomez Addams, it’ll probably be a blast of a movie, and hopefully with a ‘G’ rating?!
This is now one of my new traditions ever since I saw this a year ago (I'm rewatching this rn) and the antagonist reminds me so much like waluigi (probably because of the head shape) thanks for uploading this man
Nice story, but I think it lacks a lil' something about that sister learning to mind her own beeswax, and to not assume she can intrude on her brother whenever it occur to her.

I am an old lady and I have never seen this. Thank you for airing it. Watching with my little dogs and cats.
I too am an old lady watching this for the first time and with my 2 little doggies.😊❤

Rome is where I'm from originally 💜
Barry Manilow is a big time singer since the 1970's. He worked in the mailroom before he got into singing.
He played piano for Bette Mildler after he did time in a mail room. After that he sang.
I have searched for this little gem for years and it was wiped from existence...until now!!!!! Thank you so much for getting this back on the web.

What an utter delight!! And narrated and sung by the great Barry Manilow is a bonus!❤️❤️❤️
Don't forget he also wrote the songs (that make the whole world sing😉).🥰
I'm 61 years old and I have never watched this before tonight. Thank you for sharing!
That first commercial (Cranberries) was WONDERFUL! ❤😊🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks, channel owner, for posting this cartoon. I appreciate you!!! ❤😊🎉
I read the book of this but I haven't seen a movie about it. I guess it's very NEW to me.

The stories are relatively known among us New Englanders; even more so in Massachusetts where cranberries are cultivated in the first place.

This book was the sweetest book I really enjoyed at Christmas. So funny I was thinking of this book the other day. Thanks for the video ❤
I think Shout Factory should buy this and release this on DVD and Blu-Ray.
At the beginning of this cartoon, I was expecting Jack Skellington to sing "What's This."
Cyrus Grape should have been arrested after what he did to Mr. Whiskers's house! He not only trashed the house but completely destroyed it.
Reminds me of a New England version of the Grinch.

WE LOVE BARRY MANILOW!!!!!!!!!!
I wish they had a cartoon caricature of Barry Manilow as the narrator in this special.
2:30 is THAT the captain from the Katzenjamma Kids ?
We used to have a book with this title.
good
Most of these male voices sound like Robert Paulsen!
I remember this movie
Adorbs!!
This animation style is very interesting.i think It reminds me of something, but I don't know what.
"Johnny Two Two"?
I remember about this
Cookies fresh from a brick oven...and grandma useing magic to take them out in bare hands with a tray that is easily 400 F....just tv magic
Never show it on tv anymore since it went to freeform
I think they should've gotten Clancy Brown to play Mr. Whiskers, cuz I've always pictured Mr. Whiskers with a gnarly sea captain type of voice rather than Rob Paulson's high pitched voice.
With the exception of having a Christmas tree 🎄 this seems a generic winter cartoon vs a Christmas special
Apparently its based off the book series.
24 minutes is a movie?
Rob Paulsen And Jeff Bennett
How is this a movie 24 mins long
That's the average length. A half hour special also included commercials.
And there’s no dvd or digital because why?
Wow😍😍 so beautiful
Please make more Cartoon movie on the christmas🤗🤗🤗🤗
