This just looks like flipping lol. When I feel this motion I get zero shaft lean and start adding loft at impact
After watching the vid it’s more nuanced, but man it’s one of those things you can’t watch a youtube video and try to replicate without a coach

Exactly. Most amateurs will be flipping all over the place. This is anti everything in the modern swing.

Great video Eric! Have been watching some of Craig's teachings and appreciate the lessons geared toward the older players. This type of release can be very effective in adding speed. I know that "flipping" is a bad word in golf. But as the video alludes to - too early and this type release does become a flip. I think the key point here is WHEN the release happens. Would love to see more about timing - as it seems key to making this release work properly. Certainly, it is going to be different for the driver as compared to the irons. Thanks!

Pure gold Eric! I just took a couple 45-45 swings with the aim of getting into that release position and they felt great, with solid contact. This seems similar to Mike Malaska's L-to-L but to me Craig's approach feels less flippy. Thanks!

Hi Eric, is it throw realease vs body release? I experience a lot of pushing to the right with the second type release and short diatance too.

Def more "throw" style vs "twist"
I understand that it's helpful to show the differences between good and bad swing positions but I've always felt that a few channels including this one show an extreme when it comes to the bad swing. A beginner would certainly have that kind of extreme position in their ( bad) swing but most amateurs with a decent swing with a lot of room for improvement aren't going to have it that bad. Does not help the visual to see the extreme. Golf is tough because small changes are hard to see and execute. Would be a lot more helpful if the differences between good vs bad were shown in their subtlety.

Interesting, if golf tutorial videos were filmed from front on I think personally we'd all learn much more, too many are all about positions in creating the perfect back swing, the back swing doesn't hit the ball, 7:12 it's impact forward, the release that produces the results. Just my personal observation.
