    I very much appreciate the video. I have the same truck, a 2017 F-550, 6.7 diesel, crew cab, except mine has a dump bed, with one of the longer wheel bases. Mine does have 4WD, and a gooseneck hitch. I cannot tell if yours is 4WD. I want to tow an excavator the same size as yours, except with steel tracks and road liners, a Komatsu PC88-11, weighing 19,200 lbs., plus the trailer weighing about 10,000 lbs. My truck, with its dump bed set-up, empty, weighs 12,400 to 12,500 lbs. with me in it, which is probably slightly heavier than yours because of the dump bed. I have been very concerned that towing that heavy will be slightly overloading the truck, which has a GCWR of 40,000 lbs. Basically, if I pull my truck/trailer combo onto a scale, empty, I'm grossing over 21,000 lbs. I know that the PC88-11 is going to put it in excess of 40,000 lbs. I definitely would like to be very confident that I can tow that heavy, safely, with good stability, very effective stopping ability, etc. If you, or anyone else reading this has any feedback to assure me it is adequate for so much weight, or feedback from personal experience with the same set-up, towing that heavy, I'll very much appreciate it. I like my 2017 F-550, but am having trouble feeling confident that towing that heavy with it will be safe. At 54 years of age, I don't like taking the risk of something bad happening.

    Does your chassis cab f550 have the same engine brakes as your f450? I was under impression that the detuned chassis cab engine lacked the engine brakes, and has a smaller turbo?

    I bought a 2018 xlt and put 10,000 miles on it before I couldn't take those horrible seats... traded it in on an upgraded 2019 with the 10-way adjustable seats. I have never driven in a more uncomfortable seat than stock xlt seats. They were SO BAD, it was worth it to take a loss on the 2018

    Aren't F550 trucks limited to XLT? The local dealer where I live in Western Canada has a used F550 just like yours for sale 57,000kms been there for almost a year. A crew cab 550 isn't desirable option, the local HD mechanics would have bought the truck in a heart beat if it was a regular cab and stick a 12 foot service body on it.

    You can literally buy a semi for cheaper weird people even buy these

    • @chikendagr8994
      @chikendagr8994 Год назад +2

      A semi may sometimes be cheaper to purchase but is going to be much more expensive in the long run. Worse fuel economy, higher registration/taxes, much more expensive maintenance, etc. Unless you need a semi a cab chassis makes more sense, not to mention that a 550 will fit in so many areas that a semi can't, and many 550s have 4x4, which is uncommon on semis. A 550 also doesn't require a cdl in the U.S unless you're towing a trailer above 10,000lbs, but even then DOT isn't looking at you nearly as hard as they would be at a semi.
