      My first 1-2 years of lifting my lifts were going up like crazy 50kg+ on every lift within a year or something. My New Year’s resolution following it was to add the same, like 40kg onto each lift, oh how I was humbled

    My goal is to not drink anymore. I wouldnt necessary call myself an alcoholic. More like a typical tradesman lol but still too much. It was like once or twice during the week after work and every weekend. But because its not a 247 thing its even harder to convince myself to stop. I wanted to stop for a long time because its really holding my gains back. I have appetite problems etc when i drink and im just not in my early 20s anymore. Time to leave it in 2023. I want more gains and i wanna be the best welder i can be at work. Gotta be on point all the time.

    Yourself, Sawyer and Nabil have really inspired me to take powerlifting a little more serious. My goals for this year, that may not be massive for some are 3 x bodyweight DL, 2 x bodyweight squat and 1.5 x bodyweight bench.

    I’d like for this year to be the year that I was more friendly to other people in the gym instead of closed off. A few years ago when I trained at a crunch I got to help a lot of people with beginner type questions (which is all I know basically) I also want to get to the point where I can deadlift 700 any day I wanted too. I hit 675 a year ago and I can do 585 for reps, but I haven’t really made it up to the next level.
    I’m also at a point where I have to make a decision whether or not to go back to the military so I can have financial stability. Tbh I kind of want to go Pro with powerlifting, but I wonder what the outlook is like on that from the inside? What does it feel like when that is what you do

    got my first meet in 5 weeks and my goal is to hit USAPL raw nats QT for my age/weight class (teen 3 82.5kg) of 557.5kg. I’ve only been training for ~8 months at this point, but I’ve put nearly 200 kgs onto my total in that time and would like to keep the momentum going for the rest of the year! I’d def like a total somewhere around 230/160/260 by the end of the year

    B 341 (55lbs meet PR, 40lbs gym PR)
    D 573 (48lbs gym PR, 72lbs meet PR)
    These are my goals and what I hit last meet plus my best gym lifts. And honestly anything in 1500-1600 total I’ll be very happy too. In sleeves

    I'm a big guy with a lot of weight to lose, but I really love lifting because I'm tried of being this big and still weak. I'm trying to be an advanced novice by the end of the year. I'm at the point where I'm not even a novice I feel like. I'm doing rack pulls because i can't reach a bar on the ground without significant back rounding and pain. I also am doing SS bar block squats with a little rock back (probably need to change these to light touch). I want squat with a barbell, but I had sharp pain in my shoulders and elbows the last time i tried. I'm doing a lot of mobility work and i think lowering the box and pins over time for my box squats and rack pulls will get me to where i can actually do all 3 lifts. From there, it's just gains every day! 💪🏻🦵🏻
    So I'm hoping to squat, bench, and deadlift 225 or over by the end of the year. Whether or not that's realistic, I won't really know until I've done a few more weeks of workouts.

    • @paulbeck5919
      @paulbeck5919 Год назад +1

      Good luck, perhaps try to do body weight hip hinges and squats throughout the day and see if that gets you some more mobility
