And Moose im.def a fan of you now I wanna know your opinion on Julius Maddox saying he was gonna do a 800 lb bench for half q decade atleast he did pull 795 in the gym and did a 810 static hold this dude is 6'3 425 why can't he get over the hump he needs to get some tips from u John n big loz
I think an underrated skill when we talk about GOATs is coachability. Being able to accept and implement criticism on technique is an incredibly important talent, and John absolutely has it
Mitch can you keep the 'coaching' content coming. Love these types of videos, it shows the breadth of your knowledge and you're a great educator. Also hope you have more videos with John lined up in the future. 🐐 🐐
I’m a powerlifter converted to strongman and this is exactly the type of content I could use more of. Learning the events, the small insights on how events may be at OSG. This is gold. Please continue this type of content.
really like mitchs coaching style, asks questions, finds good points in everything then corrects when needed, refreshing because not many top athletes make good coaches
Lovely wholesome video. Two beastly world class men helping with humility and genuine love for a sport and confidence in each other. Love this. Well done both!
The two best strength athletes in the world. And Mitchell’s knowledge is unbeatable and he’s a great coach. Now we have to have John coach Mitch in Powerlifting, and see if he can break the all-time world record.
he's gonna need to rewatch this video a few time but that's awesome that the training session is recorded for him. Easier to see the issues and what Mitch is talking about watching it back
This was such an awesome post. The best in the world. I train more like a power lifter at the time, though strongman is my favorite. Seeing Mitchell hooper train John Hack is so awesome.
Imagine how much one session like this is worth to someone relatively early in their strongman career. That's awesome. Now when that someone happens to be unreasonably strong to begin with, great things can happen.
Hes a known asshole. I actually saw him at a grocery store in Toronto last month. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
I give it 3 years max before the more refined strongmen Mitch inspires starts setting themselves apart. Thor is king of the second/third gen, but Mitch is the pioneer of the next. The guy that broke the plateau
Remember that interview with the stoned dude? The “pretty glonkly” guy? John reminds me of that dude 😂 Like he saw that vid got angry and dedicated his life to powerlifting 😂
I learned a lot here! Thanks Mitch! I wouldn't mind more videos like this on how to master the events. Really fucking cool to see both of you working together. Try doing a squat or bench or deadlift session together!!
Everyone says Mitch is the smartest strongman, but if he was REALLY smart, he'd be giving John awful advice to stop him becoming a challenger *points to temple*
That bag throw seems like such a simple thing, but the required technique and coordination is really something. Especially if you have trained for such a long time with a slightly different hinge pattern, reprogramming that is more difficult.

John Haack has lifted so much weight he’s welded to the floor, that’s why he can’t jump
Gravity is angry with him.
John achieving what he has in PL and still being such an open and honest student speaks volumes about him. And Mitch's coaching, amazing.

The question: deadlift with or without straps 🤔
Mitch could probably hookgrip any weight. He's training it.
Loz as his coach and Mitch helping out, Damn, John is going to be dangerous.
Mitch always giving out free advice. Dude just wants everyone better. Welcome to strongman John.

John is incredible, so hyped to see him in strongman
The guy is insanely strong. Freaking hell. Built like a tank.
You are what you eat
It's crazy how much he blew up after moving on from tested events. And this is him holding back still trying to achieve goals in lower weight classes
Bro benches 3x bw. Mindboggling. I really hope he finally gets that 2300 lbs total in 198 lbs class in his next pl comp.
John Haack is f'ing amazing!
I believe this is the quickest I've clicked on a video ever 🥳

JH is going to be unstoppable. It's great watching Mitch give such specific, technical feedback to an elite "beginner". Such an interesting dynamic.
