  • One of my favorite tin pan alley version ever made. Even thow Montreux 85 is hard to watch because Stevie was loaded I love the feeling in the song and the presence of Johnny Copeland as a guest, one of the biggest voice of the blues.
It's a shame RUclips doesn't allow 10+ mins long videos.

Montreux 85 was such a badass performance. Definitely bitter sweet watching these vids. He was one of a kind. Stevie and Johnny were in the groove.

i love stevie so much, and i feel so blessed to have parents that knew him. My mom was in the same AA group as him, and she said before he left for the plane that ended his life, she gave him a hug, and she could just sense that this was the last hug she would give him, and the last time she would talk to him. heavy stuff. R.I.P Stevie, youre missed greatly!

Stevie Ray was a big part of my youth. I saw him numerous times in the NYC area and he never failed to amaze me. Most especially The last show I saw was at the Ritz in NYC New Years Eve 1989-90 was to this day the greatest show I ever saw. He taught a white kid from Brooklyn what the blues were. When he sobered up He taught me what a great human being was. He never fell back into his addiction and He quit all his vices including cigarettes!

@acefanaticishot Clearly it was someone that clicked the wrong spot. I prefer not think anymore about how he died. He was here - left his mark and we are all better off thanks to SRVs contributions. I still get chills up the spine when listening to some of his tunes.

When it comes to a tragedy with no real back story I'm sure a bunch of different reasons come up. If nothing else I like to think I just added another interesting one to the mix. The story about his old lady is what my uncle told me while we were watching this exact concert on DVD while drinking Jack.

  • @TheZacdes

Cos he usually was for a long time. I know from personal experience, how when your ripped, your creativity and flow, with real emotion is much more intense:) Every note is etched in your head, with variations on your patterns are just so much better. Your INSIDE the music!!

  • @tbone5044

Wrong slick, estreetbill hit it right on the head, the next show for him was Chicago, your people were buying advance tics. As far as the heroin goes that prue bullshit, Stevie was a coke man when he was using for the most part but the dude had left all that shit behind. I sure admired him for it too, it had started screwing with his true love. He had dropped all of his ol' dopein' buddies and moved on. t
